  1. I have no expectations for this season. I decided in the preseason that if I had no expectations, I would not get all pissed off or depressed. I keep watching because they are my team. That does not mean I accept the poor results. I guess I am in fan survival mode,
  2. See the items I highlighted to be sure you know what I am replying to. 1. It is obvious you do not come here a lot. That is not a "shot" at you, but if you had time to read a wider sample of opinions, you would see that few people would argue that this team is NOT a horrible mess. 2. Moorman and Lindell would be starters on an NFL team anywhere. I will not go through the roster and try justify the good apples in a rotten barrel, but there ARE some players on the Bills that would be starters with a supporting cast. It is a team sport, after all. 3. If you are going to mosey in every now and then to laugh at us (the collective us = TBD community), I guess I have nothing to say that is fit to print. I am glad you are entertained so easily and bow to your superior football insight and opinions.
  3. Oh and another thing - GREAT article, John W !!
  4. This was an amazing gamble certainly paid off, no doubt. The thing that I will never understand is being a millionaire, owning a football team, loving the game, and not doing what is needed when you are in your freaking 90's to get the Lombardi Trophy before you die!
  5. Wow! Cigar Mark! I miss tailgating with him. I have been fortunate to tailgate with Lori and John (and a very large number of other TBDers over the years - too many to mention) so I am a lucky man! Most of my quotes are either illogical or not suitable for print, so I am OK with that! Ralph must be aware of the media focus on the paper bags. Even if he does not care about the fan opinions, he is aware that if fans are totally disgruntled, games will not be sold out at The Ralph. My biggest puzzle was this: I thought he LIKED football and wanted a championship for his own pleasure as much as he wanted to make millions on the team. He makes millions on many businesses he owns, and winning a Super Bowl would not result in a red line financial statement. Ralph sadly did not say much of any substance in the article, did he? "And even Bills owner Ralph Wilson had few words to describe his team's woes, except to say, "It's bad," and suggest it might take as many as three years to turn it around." There is NOTHIING said that suggests the Bills are a priority to Ralph. I think we have heard that 'three year thing' before.
  6. I thought that was the "let's trade the farm for an average backup veteran QB who looked great Monday and save the draft for another DB or undersized DE committee". It's extremely important our QB is a veteran. sigh........ It might just be me, but I was just relieved that Edwards did not go to the Jags and look like a million bucks. The Bills make some very good players look very bad. That was not the case this time.
  7. So far at least Gailey has admitted he overestimated his employees.
  8. "Up on Cripple Creek" - Live video of The Band from Big Pink, Woodstock, NY. A true American Band!
  9. As I said - my opinion was not directed specifically or exclusively at you. My skin is very thick on most subjects.
  10. Put that way, you are right - my logic does stink! I forgot that if there are only 32 houses on the market, you can pretty much name your price.
  11. I have mixed feelings about this debate because good arguments can be made both ways. That said, our volunteer FD is funded by taxes, but I always contribute to their additional fund drives. I get a personal pleasure out of shaking a volunteer's hand and contributing to their cause.
  12. As a father of three girls, two who were cheerleaders and all three who took dance, I can say with certainty that they HATED skimpy outfits. It did not matter if they were shapely or chubby, they did not like like the way they were treated, when dressed inappropriately. I hope you have daughters some day, just to understand how I feel about this type of thing. I rarely comment about anything that people write, I am no Saint, but the QB oral remark was way out of line. I am not a prude except when it comes to making this type of remark about minors (legally still children). This is not a reply directed at you personally, because I KNOW you meant it as a joke. I'm just sayin.............. Rock
  13. I like the Twins, they are full of Rochester Red Wings, which means Triple A Rochester is supporting their parent club! I have not been a big Wings fan since they tore down Silver Stadium. I liked that place! You lucky dog!
  14. I have been a Yankees fan since 1960. I hope this is a good series!
  15. So, in order to get 'satisfaction', you need to put a bag on your head? Man, you must be UG-ly! (wear two bags)
  16. By that logic, if I plan on selling my house and do not want to upset my neighbors (who are friends) I can stop cutting the grass, let the paint chip off, and make the property an eyesore so they cannot wait until someone else buys the property and I move. Stay away from the Lucky Charms, the chemicals in the marshmallows are known to negatively impact your brain function!
  17. My fan 'loyalty' is to the Buffalo Bills. My father was a Bills fan in 1959, before the first game was played. His great grandchildren are Bills fans. It is the family tradition of loving football, tailgates, barbecues, training camp, and being together that makes us fans. RW has kept the team in WNY and I can thank him for that.
  18. To be fair, without being there, they could not have the experience to compare THEN to NOW. I smile when Babyrock tells me she thought the Super Bowl was the Buffalo Bills against some other team every year. Being born in '82, it was what she experienced.
  19. Or it could be the aura of the team in it's entirety. Or maybe the oral of the team it it's dentity. Or is it the ore of the team in it's density. <sigh> 2:30 AM and nowhere to go. I do not have the energy to be angry about something I cannot control.
  20. Very nice (but meaningless) summary, Rich! It was so intelligent, I had to dig to find it half way down page two! If you want to get attention, you have to be much more insulting, AND when you say Fitz was effective, you cannot also point out his mistakes. Just a thought, you Trent hating moron!
  21. I am thankful that RW has kept the team in Buffalo for 50 years. Is there anything else you would like to ask? I remember in the 80's, just before the Bills learned how to win, I was just hoping they could get to an 8-8 season! The current team is frustrating, but 38-30 beats 38-3. The game was worth watching and I hope the franchise can start to turn the corner, and move forward in the next few seasons. Does this mean I am happy they lost yesterday? Of course not! I have had it with rebuilding every 3 or 4 years.
  22. As it has been mentioned, the Lambeau Leap is DEFINITELY scripted and never draws a penalty. The Pats did some extreme celebrating with NO penalties. THAT is home cooking.
  23. I am not celebrating anything except that I expected the score to be 38-3.
  24. It was nice to watch a football game with the Bills in it. Yes they were obviously FAR from perfect, but it was worth watching. Weeks one an two were good games to nap through,
  25. If the Bills move, that team is dead to me. I will have my memories of the original AFL Champs/ NFL Almosts. The new team would no longer be the Bills. I have no other 'favorite' team, but I might be able to find another eventually.
