It's that time of year where I ask my friends at Two Bills Drive to sponsor me in the MS walk. Since 2002, I have done the MS Walk every year, and TBD has been responsible for 90% of the money donated to the Natoinal Multiple Sclerosis Society to help those with MS, and fund research to find a CURE. The cumulative total YOU have helped me raise to date is over $9,000 ! This year daughter, Babyrock has her own walk/team in Connecticut on April 10th, appropriately named The Rockpile. I am walking in Rochester on May 1st with my team, Grovers' Rovers, to honor a friend. My team will be comprised of friends, as well as Mrs Rock, my other three children, and grandchildren! I know times are tough. In the last four years, I have been laid off, worked on contract, worked part time, and collected unemployment. I am fortunate to be employed again. The new career will not make me rich but I am learning new skills every day! Those who know me, also know I have multiple sclerosis. I am on a regimen of medicines that reduce the frequency of attacks, but there is no cure. I am not complaining! Whether you can contribute $1, $5, $10, or more, it adds up and it MATTERS. Sponsor Babyrock by clicking here: April 1st walk (bonus here is a good laugh at a photo of me from when I was a 19 year old 'hippie' Sponsor Rockpile by clicking here: May 1st walk About me: Since I was diagnosed with MS in 1994, I have been on a range of treatments to keep my incurable disease in remission. This means I have *fewer* attacks (aka exacerbations) to slow down progression of my MS, but I want a cure! I am walking in Rochester NY in May, and will try to walk in Connecticut in April. * I walk for those who cannot walk. * I walk for those who find going from the kitchen to the bedroom a marathon. * I walk for the less fortunate. YOU ARE MY HEROES!! I can walk, talk, work, see, hear, and live a normal life (normal from my perspective anyway ha-ha!). I can hug my kids and grandchildren. I can walk on the beach, enjoy a sunset, and hold hands with my lovely wife. GIVE if you can - A SINGLE dollar helps. No gift is too small, or too large, and all donations are equal in my eyes! *-) Remember: When MS hits you, it takes a chunk of you away, but when it leaves, it never gives it ALL back. Thank you. moderators - please move to off topic, sorry! moderators - please move to "off topic" sorry!

+10 It is good to respect the freedoms we have, and remind ourselves of our good fortune. Our country is not perfect, but I do not see people lining up to leave. just sayin...

A Few Thoughts About The Game
rockpile replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First time I can remember being glad the Bills season is over. Time for Ralph Wilson to decide if OWNING an NFL team is 'enough' or if he would like a Lombardi trophy after being in the driver's seat since 1960. It will be interesting to see what the off season brings. Happy Trails, Bill! -

Shouldn't you be chucking wood somewhere? -
The Bills wanted to bring younger players into the defense. Smerlas was pissed because he felt that HE was a better nose tackle then Jeff Wright was. His last year with the Bills, he was forced to share time at Nose, and he let everyone know how he felt. He said he would not complain about losing his starting role to a better player, but was not given a fair chance to be challenged for his spot. At least that explains to me his bitter feelings about the Bills, mixed in with his fond memories of Bills fans and five pro-bowls. I too have met him and have no reason to speak poorly of him. I am NOT saying that some others' bad experiences with him are not valid, just stating my experience and opinions!

When I was about 17, I was ejected from the Rockpile for throwing snowballs at Dolphins! -
The Official Gameday Thread: Patriots* at the Bills
rockpile replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was there. It was cold and boring too! Yes. After the first successful series, the Putzes made some defensive changes that made what the Bills were doing ineffective. The Bills are too stupid to reciprocate, so they just threw the ball for the rest of the game. We had a great time at the Ralph and saw a few friends and missed a few others. I am glad we went. I am also glad we left at half time. The daughter's new boots need more thinsulate and I hoped if I left, the comeback would happen. -
Who is going to the Ralph on Sunday?

That is the TBD tailgate lot, right? I expect we will see you there! The Rock Lot has a nice ring to it! What time is the small pretailgate tailgate? Merry Christmas, Eric! Thanks, my avatar is from 12.31.2009 -

Christmas wishes to all my Bills brethren and sisteren

Merry Christmas! Thanks for the early present, Russell J. Salvatore - for making sure the game will not be blacked out! May the Spirit of giving infect us al! Rock -
I know for sure the 1966 Bills vs. Chiefs game in Buffalo was blacked out and sold out. It was followed by the NFL / AFL championship game (AKA Super Bowl I ), which was NOT sold out!

Santa R Rich came early and me and BabyRock are going Sunday! Since I have not been back since opening day, and there are lots of confusing stories about where Two Bills Drive parties, I could use some input. Hammers is always a great place to tailgate, but is Lot One Pole Six still the TBD party? Do Pinto Kenny, Badolbilz, Lorii and others still meet there before the game? Edumacate me, please. I love snow games and will be wearing my Dad's 1961 Bills Boosters coat, - see my avatar from the Indy game last year.

I remember listening to sold out championships on the radio in the sixties for this reason. Didn't the TV networks have more of a factor on this than Congress?

"Transformer" came out when I was about 18, and is still one of my favorite albums!

The Fish were contenders for a wild card slot until the Bills BEAT them today. Fitz is young enough to be the answer for a few more years while they fil larger holes on the team.

Me too. It was hard to see how the OL was doing!

Excellent but meaningless opinion clipped for brevity only! I am happy. The road to really rebuilding a team starts with gutsy players and good coaching. Bruce Smith and Jim Kelly were not stars until after Levy took the reins. Thurman was a 2nd rounder and everyone knows Reed was a 7th round chance. I would rather see them finish the season with a winning attitude and some confidence than total washout with only the #1 draft pick in the league to provide a hope for the future! As you say, wherever they pick, just pick well! They won three of the last five, but remember the FOUR losses by only three points. Shades of 1985 - 87 !! Sure beats firing all the coaches and starting another three year plan!!!! Go Bills! It takes a very good QB to have the confidence to try to force a ball into a tight opening, knowing that they may wish they could have a couple of them back. Manning is a great QB who is showing what happens when you have the best QB with a sub par supporting cast. Brady also gets a lot of help from the officials.

Nice profile of "Nick in England"
rockpile replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really wanted to get to Buffalo today to see Nick and his father again. His father and I are the same age. "Babyrock" is a bit younger than Nick. We saw them about four years ago when the Bills were hosting Miami in the snow (Lot one Pole Six back then). This part is special: "Nick estimates there are about 300 Bills fans in the U.K. His interest in the NFL team was sparked when his dad took him to see the Bills play the Philadelphia Eagles in July 1991 in an exhibition then known as the "American Bowl." The Bills beat the Eagles at Wembley Stadium in London, 17-13." Nick once said in his bio, that he chose the Bills as his NFL team because his father liked the Eagles. You know how teenagers are, right? Anyway, Somehow I seem to have a lot of obscure Bills memorabilia, literally boxes of things. One item was a full page advertisement from USA Today (UK Edition) for the game at Wembley in 1991. I made it a point to meet Nick and I gave him the ad. He was pleased and surprised anyone HAD IT! I figured it was better in his hands than mine. I also joined the Bills Backers of UK around that time. -
The rule on penalties is more at the discretion of the officials when the Patriots are playing.

Nice, read! It must have been hard to dig into this game for analysis when it hurt the eyes just to watch it! I think you were a little hard on Poz. Not that I think he is perfect, but being surrounded by inconsistent performance from his teammates, I think he tries too hard to be everywhere. Just my two cents, brother!

If Spiller only could find a split second whole to run thru he would not have to "bounce" anywhere! I will hold off one more year to judge this kid.
