  1. This is the worst team in franchise history. I have been a fan for 40 years and I am not laughing. I am a fan and do not trash talk them, I watch them and hope to see something positive, but have detached myself emotionally from wins and losses. I do NOT Billieve. sigh......................................
  2. If you ranked football commentators, like you rank teams - Randy Cross would be in the bottom two percentile. But, since the game was only being broadcast in Wisconsin, WNY, and some small aberrant part of southern California, why spend money on a first stringer?
  3. You have obviously never met Kenny.
  4. IMO Tull peaked with Aqualung, but This Was Jetro Tull, Stand Up, and a few cuts from Benefit were brilliant. Starting with Thick as a Brick, it was really Ian Anderson, not Jethro Tull anymore. He did some fantastic work with Taj Mahal.
  5. I have a few albums of Big Brother and the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) that are incredible. Pearl was the album featuring "Mercedes Benz" with the Full Tilt Boogie. That album also covered "Half Moon" by John Hall of Orleans. I would have loved to see/hear her perform.
  6. The short guy was Davy Jones, the other two were Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork. ;-) Nesmith was a musican before and after the Monkees, although not "famous". A few years ago. Peter Tork played at a free concert in Ocean City, MD in a band called the Shoe Suede Blues. They were BAD, especially on a pseudo blues version of Last Train to Clarkesville! LOL
  7. I felt the same way a first Eric. (sigh)
  8. I hear you, Stromboli Man! I remember in the 60's, in the downtown stadium, I was at a game where a guy (Jets fan) was drinking something from an orange juice carton. Around half time he puked on a lady in front of him and then tried to wipe if off her. Another time a drunk behind me fell and essentially landed across my lap. He got standing and was trying to talk (apologize) and I told him to just go away. I was afraid he would barf on me! As he stood by the railing for the tunnel entrance weaving back and forth, people were yelling "Jump!". General thread comments: Bad behavior is not new. I never felt it was acceptable! Not when I was fifteen, and not 40 years later. Why do people DEFEND these cretins? I know I may have to tolerate this BS when I go to a game, but it is not anything I will justify. I do not see how "growing a pair" will make me more tolerant of jerks. This is my opinion, do not tell me to stay home and watch the game or go to church if I want people to behave, and I will not tell you how you should party That said, my section was VERY well behaved for a football crowd. Not angels - not butt holes!
  9. Trent Edwards is Trent Edwards. They should just go wild cat with two or three RB's. To be fair, on the only TD scoring drive, the no huddle worked very well and they had Miami on their heels. The Dolphins called a time out to regroup and THEN the MF network did a commercial break! It seemed like they got a five minute breather, and as an infamous HC would say "it took the sail out of Buffalo's wind". I do not know how ANY NFL exec can justify giving the Fish a double timeout in the middle of an effective drive. This type of BS seems to happen every time Buffalo is playing Miami and this is why I will ALWAYS hate the Dolphins!!!!
  10. Scott, I just wanted to thank you again for maintaining Two Bills Drive and your continual support of the TSW Annual Tailgate. Great to see you Saturday (Happy Birthday) and Sunday - great food and friends. I am posting this here only because I do not see a lot of comments at the Tailgate East forum or FB. I also want to thank all of the people who made this happen. There are dozens of people 'behind the scenes' who make this event a real HOLIDAY! I will not start naming names, because I am sure I will miss someone, and I do not want anyone overlooked. BTW, I like this year's T-shirt design SO much. It may be the best one yet - simple and tasteful! THANK YOU ALL FOR TAILGATE 2010 !
  11. Yes. The location of that private lot is good, but it is a mud pit when the weather conditions are bad. I have seen cars stuck in mud up to the frame after a morning freeze followed by an afternoon thaw. We had trouble getting out years ago with a 4WD. To answer another suggestion, moving the Pinto party to Hammer's Lot was not practical in Ken's opinion, because it draws literally hundreds of fans who would overrun Hammer's facilities, crowd out his paying customer's, and make his lot's security a nightmare. Ken told me this, not "Hammer". IMO, the Pinto party would ruin Hammer's great lot - which is secure and clean. Ken stopped by Hammer's early Saturday evening to say hello, and later at Danny's, while making his rounds. He spoke about probably moving at some point, possibly to a lot on Abbott between Rts 20 and 20A, past where the RV lot is now. It is a Bills lot but is already a party zone.
  12. I was happy they tried the FG, especially with the wind at Lindell's back. Taking "a knee" or watching Trent throw a two yard pass would have really sucked.
  13. It is like a family reunion, and the family gets larger each year.
  14. That is good news. There is some sanity left in the world.
  15. When? We should have 'base camp' set up around 5PM Saturday but the rest will be arriving later. You have my cell number, right? Last year everyone was crashing at about 11PM which is a shame when pubs are open to 4AM! I grew up in Hamburg but moved when I was 17 so I never really did a Hamburg pub crawl. Also, I am fine with beef on wick or wings, but some want a better menu for non-meat. Danny's salad bar does not really make it. Worst case we will drink and make s'mores at our campfire. I am bringing an EZ up just in case it really rains.
  16. My flag will be up at dawn. Pray for peace.
  17. You like to go shirtless to show off your art!
  18. I have worn a Bills Jersey or Two Bills Drive shirt, and various Bills winter coats, raincoats, bandannas, or hats, wherever I want as long as casual dress is expected. I do not personally think it is a garment malfunction, but you are entitled to your opinion! I kind of like wearing a Bills Jersey in NY City, Connecticut, Florida, etc., regardless of the season. My game day jersey of choice is a #81 with "Price" removed and "Rockpile" added. I have another home jersey that is a converted #80, another Rockpile jersey. The only legitimate unaltered player jersey I have is Phil Hansen (the SB years blue jersey). I do not wear it a lot because either it has shrunk or my waist has expanded, heh. Rock
  19. There was a special on television in Rochester a week or so ago, looking at last season and the one starting Sunday. They took the time to dig up a LOT of positive video highlights from 2009, which could not have been easy. *-) I think the local sports media should be honest, but put a positive light on the team. It is the only major league sports franchise WNY still has. TW cable sports network channel ran the Detroit preseason game several times. I have mostly experienced positive feelings from fans in Rochester, from the casual to the rabid type. I do agree that news should be "fair and balanced" but if the national media is too lazy or perhaps biased to make sure the BIG news stories are reported accurately, I guess we cannot expect sports reporters to be a whole lot better. Writing negative chit is the easy way out. IF you are in the media and are really doing your job well, please relax. THIS POST is not directed at you. That said, I am bring myami logo fabric with me to use to start campfires and grills. I will be passing out scraps Sunday at Hammers! Rock
  20. I will do my best to make it! I MAY have a schedule conflict.
  21. I had three LPs by Black Oak Arkansas and I saw them live. We both must be living in our own private Idaho. What about Chicago? Do they not make the cut because they started as the Chicago Transit Authority? OK, if there are going to be rules I do not want to play any more.
  22. You drink what you like and if you did not BYOB, you "love the one your with." LOL White Zin = BLL I always love to read threads that argue that if you LIKE something you are wrong. EX: You unmitigated moron - PINK is your favorite color!
  23. The entire British Invasion and American rock and roll in general was "ripping off" old blues artists. The good ones started with the old blues riffs and updated the genre to make it their own (Eric Clapton, Led Zep, etc) I personally love the Beach Boys 'Holland' album. I had a great respect for Levon Helm of The Band, who threatened to walk away when producers were going to cut Muddy Waters out of 'The Last Waltz' and leave NEIL DIAMOND in! Muddy Waters and his peers were the foundation of The Band; a sound perfected with Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan. MY Most Over Rated Band - The Bee Gees !
  24. I cannot look past 9/12/2010. I have no expectations anymore, after having expectations dashed every year since 1967. That said, I will be there at the Ralph for the opener, and I will watch and cheer for the Bills every week all season long. I am bringing some Dolphin fabric to start the grill fire. Right now I only hope they start the season 1-0.
  25. Just a perspective - you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Parts of this article were emphasized by me. Link to complete article follows. A sad story indeed. Full article by Terry Robinson , a self proclaimed die hard Patriots fan: Darrly Stingley - from a "then and now" blog
