I am listening. -
Impossible to name them all. John Lennon, George Harrison, Keith Moon, John Entwhistle, Richard Manuel, and Rick Danko hit me pretty hard, from three of my favorite bands. Lots of memories on this thread.

How would you like us to beat Miami in the season opener?

That is how a crap shoot is defined. I think I figured out your true motive: Holcomb's Arm Edwards' Arm 2011 Chance To Place a Better QB's Name Here Arm I have lived through too many crap seasons to wish for ONE MORE so I can say "wait until next year" for the 43rd time. Win Now...or Whine! -

This was my favorite Dukes song with a nice intro. This not a live performance, but great sound. It is part of Music Mikes Flashback Favorites and he mentions their origins in Geneva, but credits the Inferno as making them "famous". He also says Wilmer & the Dukes were the probably inspiration for Otis Day and the Nights from Animal House. I saw 'The Fabulous Dukes' a couple times in Rochester several years back at the Beale Street Cafe (downtown not the new "safe" one in the burbs). The original drummer and organist were still playing with some younger musicians, doing very good sets, including some Wilmer and the Dukes cuts. I spoke for a while with the organist, who smiled when I said I remembered them from WKBW as a teenager. He pointed out Wilmer Alexander, sitting right there at the bar, relaxed and sipping whiskey, and I did not have the heart to disturb him.

See what happens when you don't start your post with "Dear Ass Clown..." ? Just fooling!

So why start now? Have you had an epiphany?! I never HAND anything relevant to others here

Hi, Steve! long time... Who enforces the rules once established? A software tool like flood control blocking, or another thing to put on the back of the volunteer moderators who are already considered to be fascist thought police by the dimmer bulbs! (applause for them inserted here). Also, I will use myself as an example so no one else is offended but how does being here X amount of time mean I will not abuse the photo rules? Longevity does not equal common sense Scott has already taken a barge of crap for his request that avatars get toned down, but there are still some avatars that would be embarrassing me if I was reading this forum with a child. To be clear, I like the spicy avatars. It seems like a lot of people who do not understand the forum rules are the first to cry "freedom of speech". There ain't no stinking freedom of speech here, did they NOT read what their rights are here? LOL Just my thoughts, randomly offered, heh.

I really dislike photos within posts, but these are usually places that have so much bling you cannot find the post anyway. That said, TBD has always tried to make proactive changes - which is what has kept it interesting. I am game if the majority feels the same as you. I think the rules for who can post + how often needs work.

Actually I have Dos Equis, Amber and Lager, in the cooler. "Stay thirsty my friend." I am doing a veggie thing for Mrs Rock and some guests: pan grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, pea pods, etc. Also grilling corn on the cob and eggplant slices. For me, I will add some strip steak on the side. It is supposed to be very hot and we will be right next to the pool.

Peyote buttons?

Welcome! My advice would be to have a thick skin and read a lot of posts so you can see that a lot of the interaction between folks is just fooling around! The TBD Tailgate home opener s a good place to make friends.

How is Red Zin different from White Zin? Just curious because White Zin is pink and like soda pop. I would enjoy a Malbec from Argentina with red meat, but that is me.

Here is a version of Buffalo Springfield's 'Bluebird' off the James Gang's first LP, Yer Album This was GIVEN AWAY at a Led Zeppelin concert in Buffalo. James Gang was a little low warm up band at the time (1968?).

That is cool. I cannot argue with which version you like better! I did not know Mason played on the Hendrix original. I looked around at quite a few Dave Mason performances. I always liked him (going back to the Traffic / Dear Mr. Fantasy days). His 12 string version of 'We Just Disagree' is amazing. They have a ton of versions of 'Watch Tower' on Youtube so choose your favorite! Side note: There is also a DMB and Bela Fleck performance on Youtube of 'Ants Marching'. It was better when I saw it because ALL of the DMB (including saxophonist Leroi Moore - RIP) and ALL of the Flecktones were on the stage together. -
Google Lilac Festival in Rochester, you fag. No problemo Squokka! Wow you are old if you remember that.

My mid-life crisis was the best thing that happened to me. 1. I quit smoking 2. I started going to the gym 3. After a year of no smokes, treadmills, and stair steppers I decided to run 4. I signed up for the Rochester Lilac 10K 5. I ran 6.2 miles in 66 minutes (a fraction under 11 minutes per mile) That was 1996, and I still do not smoke (unless you count less than 6 cigars a year). I walk but do not run. I never really liked running but I needed to prove to myself I could. When I turned fifty, I started wondering how I will spend the second fifty years. Still working on an answer to that one! Really tempted to return to a bohemian life style.

I always used to choose my cereal on two criteria: 1. the word 'sugar' in the name 2. the prize in the box The government is REALLY starting to piss me off! -
In Irondequoit, I was in the dining room of a house built in the 1920's, and the whole house kind of rattled/vibrated for ten or more seconds. I looked to make sure no construction vehicles had pulled in the driveway. Nothing around so I figured it was an earthquake. Many people did not feel it. Being alone in an old house helped I guess. When I lived in Hamburg, less than ten miles as the crow flies from Bethlehem Steel, there was a larger event that really shook the house. They used to dump molten slag from the blast furnaces into Lake Erie, and it hardened as it cooled in the water - turning the water to steam. One time apparently the slag formed a pocket that filled with water and hardened over, sealing the water in. The next day, they started the lava slag dump again and it turned the trapped pocket of water into steam. Ka- Boom! Shook the whole house like someone set of a bomb in the yard! About ten times more of an impact than today. It took a bit to figure what happened. Any other old timers remember that? It was probably 1968-70 time frame.

Bela Fleck opened for Dave Matthews at the Finger Lakes Whatever They Call It Now, several years ago. As far as "All Along the Watchtower", in my opinion it was best performed in order by: Jimi Hendrix (a very original rendition) Dave Matthews (also original with a surprising intro that sneaks up on you) Bob Dylan (hey, he wrote it and sang it the way he "heard" it) Dave Mason (who did it but added nothing - just rocked up the Dylan version)
