In Irondequoit, I was in the dining room of a house built in the 1920's, and the whole house kind of rattled/vibrated for ten or more seconds. I looked to make sure no construction vehicles had pulled in the driveway. Nothing around so I figured it was an earthquake. Many people did not feel it. Being alone in an old house helped I guess. When I lived in Hamburg, less than ten miles as the crow flies from Bethlehem Steel, there was a larger event that really shook the house. They used to dump molten slag from the blast furnaces into Lake Erie, and it hardened as it cooled in the water - turning the water to steam. One time apparently the slag formed a pocket that filled with water and hardened over, sealing the water in. The next day, they started the lava slag dump again and it turned the trapped pocket of water into steam. Ka- Boom! Shook the whole house like someone set of a bomb in the yard! About ten times more of an impact than today. It took a bit to figure what happened. Any other old timers remember that? It was probably 1968-70 time frame.

Albums You Didn't Realize Were as Good as they Are

Bela Fleck opened for Dave Matthews at the Finger Lakes Whatever They Call It Now, several years ago. As far as "All Along the Watchtower", in my opinion it was best performed in order by: Jimi Hendrix (a very original rendition) Dave Matthews (also original with a surprising intro that sneaks up on you) Bob Dylan (hey, he wrote it and sang it the way he "heard" it) Dave Mason (who did it but added nothing - just rocked up the Dylan version) -
You and your family are in my prayers. The wife and I have it documented and notarized, with the originals in a small fireproof box, along with all other important pieces of paper. Copies are in a sealed envelope with a trusted family member. I wrote my own living will and DNR terms. I let my wife decide what she wanted to do with my (our) remains. I do not plan to be in that shell, and would be happy if it is used to fertilize the garden! Wife did not like that idea but surprised me when she chose cremation. Rock (in Irondequoit)

I saw them do 'Ants Marching' in an encore together with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones (what a crowded stage). Impossible to truly really appreciate this live jam on a CD. DMBs version of 'All Along the Watchtower' live is also absolutely delightful! -

The Band: The Last Waltz Two books - Across the Great Divide and This Wheel's on Fire both confirm much over dubbing was used. Levon Helm says that he refused to redo any of his live performances from the concert. A couple "live studio" tracks were added with The Band performing 'The Weight' with the Staple Singers, and 'Evangeline' with Emmy Lou Harris. -

Coming from out of town to a game.

If you go to the home opener, you will run into the most TBD people at Hammer's Lot. Check the Tailgate East forum. -

Don't drink too much before the game. If you want to clearly remember the whole experience, especially as a first timer, play it cool. I have seen many people make the mistake of barely remembering the game they were so messed up. Lot One Pole 5 for TBD official home tailgate (except for the first home game) and "Pinto Ron" every Sunday. -
Lose the mullet and then talk to me.

Update with corrections: Frank Oz on Rowlf the Dog & clip from Jimmy Dean Show and more early Jimmy Dean /Muppet clips: Howdy Early version of Kermit

I remember watching him on his C&W variety show with my grandparents. He used to joke and sing at the piano with this furry puppet called a Muppet named Ralph the dog, voiced by an off camera Jim Henson. Man, that was a LONG time ago.

After the anesthetic kicked in, I propped myself up on my elbows and watched the whole thing. Pretty cool! His name (really) was Dr. Stopp! Oh, and he was old(er). maybe late 60's and this was his specialty. -

I like most of the Crash Test Dummies music - I saw them live after they released "I Don't Care That You Don't Mind". -

I agree about "true musicianship" if the recording technology captures the true performance. The Who: Live at Leeds At the time it was released, I had a much younger musical ear. -
She says "hi" back. The old list was the Buffalo Bills Mailing List BBML (1995-1996).

My biggest problem is when people cannot distinguish between immigrant and illegal immigrant. An illegal immigrant's first act on entering our country is to break the law. If you are here illegally you do not have the same rights (or benefits) of LEGAL immigrants. Yes, this teacher should be fired. Then he is free to say whatever he wants as long as he does not break the law.

Schobel had the misfortune of being on a Bills team that lacked consistency in management or skilled longevity in the defensive squad. He showed up on every play and did not whine about being part of what may prove to be the worst era in Buffalo Bills history. He was a class act and we should be thanking him for staying with the Bills, not finding reasons to criticize. Had he been opposite Bruce Smith (or Phil Hansen) people would be heaping praise on him! Good luck to you in your future endeavors, Mr. Schobel.

What are your favorite exercise pump-up songs?

Rusted Root - When I Woke 1. Drum Trip 2. Ecstasy 3. Send Me On My Way Those three get me started every time! -
I spent half the X-Men movies explaining who all these people were, who was a good guy, and who was bad, AND their powers. (when watching on DVDs, not in the theater)

The MBL was very much like the Off Topic portion of this forum. I some ways it was a progenitor/precursor to that; a place to go when you wanted to discuss anything not strictly Buffalo Bills without getting slammed. "This is a #@$$F@*&^ Bills list, dammit!"

...and here I thought I was bumped from the Inner Circle for personal reasons. BTW, since so many are axing (sic) questions, this is how rosen became a verb. ex: The system rosened the bed.

Check your member number. I think many of us were "grandfathered" to this version of the list back in 2001. I think it was a software change. My betters can explain it.
