  1. Repent Harlequin! Cried the Tick-Tock Man! Tailgate X Reloaded
  2. Ten years ago I spoke to the Boosters at their 40th anniversary picnic, at the field house at One Bills Drive. I had the coat with me and showed it to the club, which included some old-timers who did not remember it, but were around then. My father told me there were only about 20 of these coats ever made. Denny Lynch wanted me to let the Bills "borrow" the coat and put it in a display case in the Admin Building. I had been forewarned that he would ask and cautioned that I would have to be the judge as to whether the display was secure or not (funny how things disappear, intentionally and by true accident). I asked if perhaps I might be able to get a pair of cheap season tix in exchange for the loan of my coat, and we could discuss renewal of our agreement annually. He politely declined and promptly left. LOL I wear the t-shirt a lot Guff! I will eventually put your Dad's avatar back!
  3. I changed it back to lapel logo on my father's coat, as a point of reference to your 'origin' story. When they formed the Buffalo Bills Boosters Club, Inc., the Boosters were promoting this as the Bills' logo! I cannot back this statement up with fact, since most of the founding members of the club (est. 50 years ago) died or cannot be reached. I have his coat and try to wear it to a snow game every year. I also have a Boosters Club Newsletter from 1961, a copy of the Boosters Club incorporation papers, and a small styrofoam football that was a souvenir from the 1961 Christmas party signe by several players and even Lou Saban and Van Miller. They were smart to incorporate - that is why all the other fan clubs recognized by the Bills are BACKERS.
  4. Buffalo Style Cocoa Puffs
  5. Woo-Hoo! More Cowbell!
  6. OMG - you are in my prayers! I just saw this - thanks to whoever pinned it.
  7. Ah, the British Invasion!
  8. 1. I defended your signature with documentation. 2. How many emoticons do I have to put in a paragraph for you to see sarcasm? I will slowly back away now. Causing arguments is not my style.
  9. With only seconds left on the clock, Lombardi and Starr decided to run a QB sneak and score a touchdown to WIN (or lose) the NFL Championship, instead of kicking an easy field goal to TIE the game. I watched this game on TV - it was great! I have heard it said, but cannot supply a source (so it may just be a football urban legend), that Lombardi felt that if his team could not move the ball a few feet forward, they did not deserve to win! Lombardi is the icon of old school. The Ice Bowl P.S. Providing information on the sexual orientation, racial origin, and religious preference of your friends is an odd way to defend your stance on how you see humanity. "I don't see color" proves you like Jews?
  10. If I come here during lunch time at work, I turn off avatars (and sigs) . I am not a prude, and I know you certainly aren't, but sometimes avatars draw unwanted attention. you cannot win.
  11. When he gets around to it, he can explain why it is significant. This is from a t-shirt he graciously passed my way in September! Cool, eh?
  12. It takes a while to learn to "separate the wheat from the chaff", and the off season is the worst time. If the Bills WON the Super Bowl someone would find something to complain about.
  13. I like the dinner table conversation analogy, Scott. Everyone has freedom to express their opinion. I laugh when people argue that being banned for unacceptable behavior is a violation of their freedom of speech. They can say whatever they want, but if they violate the basic rules of social communication, they will be set free to misbehave at someone else's table.
  14. I was commenting in general, not singling anyone out. I wasn't even just speaking about this thread. Maybe when you come out of your hole, you will not see your shadow.
  15. Reading the replies to this and other posts, it seems we have become a rather rude group of piss-offs. I can only hope we get a January thaw.
  16. You rip on Wilson and the front office, and I admit I have my moments or "fan rage" too. I am not happy with the Bills right now, and understand your frustration. But I take offense as a fan (not a season ticket holder UNfortunately), when you suggest we follow the Bills as lemmings, lured by drunken orgy tailgates in the wasteland of western NY, who are a captive audience, with minimal disposable income, that have nowhere else to go in the fall and winter. But that is OK, you do not mean it in a disparaging way. Disparaging: critical, denouncing, insulting, reproachful, unflattering, belittling, derogatory What way did you mean it? I have plenty of things to do all year long. I agree that I owe the Bills nothing and they do not owe me anything me for my loyalty. If I do not want to go to a game or watch them on TV that is my choice. I have a life.
  17. Did you see Jim Thorpe play? Then...... YES!
  18. I will tell Kalene to stop crying! You really upset her you bastid.
  19. With modification to the title of this thread, mg12 has a valid point. In his opinion, which is based on QBs he has watched play since 1988 when he was 11, it is not a bad list. I was 11 in 1964, so I might add Len Dawson, Joe Willie, Johnny Unitas, and others to the list. KRC, you are one of the few who could dig back to the 1920's to come up with a best all-time QB list. Personally I never saw Jim Thorpe play, so... It is also hard to draw a line on AFL QBs (there were 3 or 4 AFLs) and AAFC QBs whose teams were assimilated into the NFL (we are Borg).
  20. Post of the Day! Thanks.
  21. I only like the OLD stuff. It was funny if you were a kid or an adult, and half the jokes were aimed three feet over the little one's heads. You know it is humor when everyone laughs at the same joke for different reasons. I voted for the Martian, BTW. Elmer was a close second; I kept thinking about Robin Williams doing Elmer Fudd doing the Pointer Sisters rendition of "Fire"! LOL
  22. John, you are killing me!
  23. What's a "yoiu"? Is it anything like an "appropiate" ?
