My thought on Daboll is, schematically his plays are some of the best I have seen as far dictating the play and using the strengths of his players. However, his play calling is horrendous when his offense goes up against top level defenses. We ran Singletary 17 times, he should have had 21-24 rushes. He is the type of back the more runs he gets the more apt he is t break off a few long ones. He provides extended pressure on a defense. By running a RPO and not having your QB run more than 1 time defeats the purpose of a RPO. Lineup in a conventional offense and pound the ball with sweeps, counters and play action. Then the screen passes are useful, the deep ball might have a chance and your massive O LINE is in attack mode instead of defend mode. And why on earth are you throwing a bomb on a very makeable 3rd and 4 when you haven not completed one long bomb all year? It doesn't make a any common sense at all. Now, it wasn't all his fault we lost, there were 3 big drops that were potential big plays, Knox, Singletary(flare pass) and Beasely on the sideline. Cody Ford missed a huge block on a 3rd down that had he just paid even an iota of attention, too what was right in front of him would have been a huge gain. Had even 2 of those mistakes not been made would have likely changed the outcome. His play calling too me is so freaking frustrating it trumps his play schematics. He and the special teams are what will doom this football season for us fans..

Best Football Play by Play Announcers
Stenbar replied to Halloween Land's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know this is not part of the topic, however I must voice my opinion on our own John Murphy. I can not listen to him, he tries too hard to make the good plays imaginative and he fails miserably. His touchdown calls are a failed try of announcing greatness at every try. He is a bad version of Jon Gurtler when he was the PBP for the Sabres till he was fired for the HOLY ZHITNIK call...LOL -
Maybe we want to lose to the Ravens?

We beat the Ravens next week I think we win out and win the AFC EAST and the top seed. Mark it... -
I agree, and the Raiders should stay in Oakland. The NFL should pay for the stadiums they play in. Then they can hold all the profits from sales. as payment by the owner till agreed price is payed. It solves all the problems. The NFL made almost 16 Billion in revenue last year (https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2019/07/15/nfl-revenue-owners-players-billions/ )and is pushing to grow that to 27 billion by the year 2027. There is no need to make tax payers pay for a stadium, so they can pay to go see the team play in it. They can fund it themselves and charge whatever they deem for tickets or PSL'S. The owner is responsible for the repayment. If the State wants to help then put it to the taxpayers for a vote. If not see ya. All this team moving around is nothing but greed. The NFL has become greedy, and the players they have are following suit. I love the game, I love to watch it, however the past 10-12 years have become increasingly frustrating to watch, not even taking into consideration the play of my team I follow. From too many commercials, to referees making the game a joke with calls and non calls alike. I laugh at 4 teams in the 2 biggest markets (NY, LA) having to share stadiums. How much more greedier can the league be. They collect PSL's from 2 different teams per stadium. Double dipping. The product they put out is hard to watch, has some superior shady characters, some who beat women, children or each other over the head with helmets. For real, what is going on. Maybe we should all walk away lol. Im depressing myself even more as reread this post. I will end this rant now.....

I would give him a shot at MLB, move 49 to the outside...Just try anything..Heck Randy White started out as a MLB, stunk it up then they moved him to DT and he was a HOFer. Oliver is too small to play DT IMO in the NFL. He is very quick and can move..

Clear Sign Beane Doesn't Think We Are Ready
Stenbar replied to Ghs24mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are not ready. We have a Qb who is in his learning year (meaning : he is trying to figure out how to be a pocket passer), we have a MLB who can cover the entire field against passing plays but is a huge liability with the run game up the middle right at him. Our pass rush is questionable, and our Offensive coordinator seems to be more interested in throwing Allen to the passing game wolves than designing a game plan to protect his deficiencies, right or wrong to be determined. There are way to many questions that need answers to, to start flinging away draft picks. -

NFL 100 Defensive line - Randy White

Too Tall was one of my favorites of all time. I actually was able to meet him at a autograph show in Batavia this year. But he was like a shade below Randy White. If I had to rate the Cowboys DL players from 75 to 81 seasons I would put them down as White, Too Tall, Martin, Dutton/Cole. When they had Holllywood Henderson and Too Tall on the same side those two were unreal. Theyre wingspan was the whole left side of the field..LOL -
NFL 100 Defensive line - Randy White

I grew up in Dallas in the 70's and 80's. He was the Cowboys best DL of his era. Ill write more later though. -
The only trade the bills made that was ever worth it was the trade for Cornelius Bennett , the only free agent move that was worth it was Bryce Paup...Two out of alot does not say much. I guess you could throw Jerry Hughes in that trade category also , that was pretty much a steel but other than that it's all garbage, keep what you got and Build from within.

For real?

Someone else with a similar type player, looking to see if they can jump start a slow and disappointing career..That is the only way I can see it. Zay is an unreliable receiver who drops way too many passes. He needs to go one way or the other before he costs the Bills a game or two with an untimely drop. I believe Croom is the TE who gets the axe. Next would be Lee Smith

I would be surprised to see Zay Jones cut, however I would not be surprised to see him dealt.

Do you guys think Mark Clayton should be a HOFer?
Stenbar replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even close -
I will not pass judgement on EWOOD as I have yet to hear him speak while analyzing a game. I can not really recall very many o lineman who have successfully transitioned into the booth. I loved listening to Mark Kelso explain the plays and the formations and where players were being put in a certain position and why. He analyzed the game much like he played. Very smart not exciting. I liked him and think it is a mistake moving on from him. It smells more like a pr move to bridge the gap from the older Bill's fan generation to the newer. Which is going to happen I suppose. I totally disdain John Murphy's play by play and wish they would find someone more smooth and someone who doesnt seem like they are trying too hard to come up with the next great "quote". I did not mind him with Van as the color guy but I find t hard to listen to a Bill's game with him on the MIC.

How bout the referees are held accountable for calling a correct game. If you miss or blow a call that is your responsibility, you get fined the first time, suspended the second time and fired the third.. Simple, doesnt get any easier or more accountable than that
