  1. I swear some of the folks on here like you have such a great amount of football knowledge. Seriously.
  2. I am with you sir. I don't understand the argument "just get someone later". Tall receivers dominate in the NFL yet there aren't many 6'3" or taller that can play to come out of college each year. 11 of the 15 top yardage leaders last year we're 6'3" or taller with Dez Bryant not counting at 6'2". 10 of the 13 receivers with 10 or more TD's were 6'3" or taller with Dez Bryant and Marvin Jones being 6'2". When there's a 6'5" receiver available to you at your pick with the measurables that KO mentions in his post you better be extra sure he's not the guy, because they are so rare and so crucial to have. There's only 3 WR's 6'3" or taller ranked in the top 100 prospects. Kellyto83TD said there's only a minimal difference between him and someone else lower, he couldn't be more wrong.
  3. Do you think this article made it seem that's what he meant? I'm seriously wondering if I read into that wrong.
  4. First the interview with EJ just confirms why I like and have so much faith in this kid. At this point I'd be shocked if he didn't succeed. Obviously none of can predict if he'll be a super bowl winning type of QB but I find it difficult to imagine him being an NFL castaway. Second, in this article Sessler mentions at the NFL combine Marrone said the decision makers could go in any direction at the QB position. He said today Marrone said their all in with EJ. I've never heard anything of the contrary to EJ being the guy. Have any of you? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000336423/article/doug-marrone-buffalo-bills-all-in-with-ej-manuel
  5. Please God let EJ put is in this terrible situation of having an over 30 QB we have to break the bank to keep.
  6. I can go either way on this argument. I understand it appears these championships were won prior to the QB "breaking the bank" but a couple were after (Brees and Eli), even though they did cost a bit more later. But the counter argument could be that these teams haven't been irrelevant after the QB got paid, yes it got harder, but everyone of these continue to go to superbowls, make playoff, are competitive, in the discussion of being able to come back, or at the least have a chance of trimming down and rebuilding with cheaper options at other positions because of the QB's they have.
  7. Some posters think us reaching out to troubled players like Britt basically shows that we're desperate. I look at it as our new regime being confident that troubled players will conform to our structure and our existing players will change them.
  8. You're right but I don't think that necessarily means anything. You couldn't get a first round pick for most QB's after their rookie year. Brees, Rodgers, etc.
  9. No way, he'll be taken within the first three picks of the first round.
  10. I hardly think Spikes and the thought of Britt means we're turning into a training ground for troubled players come for one year deals. Pettine used the Bills as a stepping stone just like every other coordinator that gets a head coaching job. C'mon dude, you're stretching things just a bit, don't you think?
  11. Several free agent WR's said they wanted Cam throwing to them. Since they've released Steve Smith and signed Cotchery and Tiquan Underwood. What in hell are the Panthers doing? A talented guy like Britt could bail the Panthers out of a dismal off season with respect to the position. But the risk involved in that working out to me leaves the Panthers little choice but to pursue other things like trading for Desean Jackson. I could also see them giving up a lot to move up in the draft.
  12. I'm not sure what in the world you're saying in the first two sentences. You want EJ pushed and you hate our back up QB situation - a mid round rookie is what will cure these ailments for you?
  13. What he really said was " uh especi uh, was kinda expecting a little less, outta them. To tell you the truth great coaching staff". What in the hell?
  14. I understand but NFL.com has Rogers listed as 208 and Britt at 223. 15 lbs in the nfl is a huge difference.
  15. I think it's also possible that drafting a QB in the 1st round could work out the same in the scenario you describe. Most feel these guys are projects. If I was a fan of a team looking to draft a QB this is the scenario I'd like to see with this years crop, again including the first round projected QB's.
  16. I understand your point and when we generalize they appear to be similar situations. But when it's two different people, 4 years difference in NFL experience, and you can even look at things like Britt being significantly bigger than Rogers - it's easy to conclude that they are completely separate decisions for the Bills FO.
  17. I don't think this changes much about how the Raiders potentially change the landscape of the draft for the Bills. My hope is for as many QB's to be taken before out pick as possible to give the Bills as many options as possible. In saying that I still think they could take a QB, Watkins, Mack, or a Tackle which is what I'd expect them to look at even prior to Schaub.
  18. I don't understand this argument. Outside of Stevie, Woods, and Goodwin no other WR should or has a secure job on this team. You carry 5-6. Smart teams when the opportunity presents plan for the future. Sign Britt, draft Evans, it gives you options on how to handle Stevie etc.
  19. I think this is a bit unfair to both players. I don't think Da'rick has been near the problem Britt has been - Britt has done a lot more than Rodgers to warrant a look.
  20. Investing a third round pick while significant, isn't a big enough investment if you're proving not to be good enough to play.
  21. The guy has figured out how to make a huge living.
  22. I don't think he'll be a main playmaker but there's no doubt this kid has the ability to get over the top. Couple that with his bulldog toughness, I think he'll be a contributor in making big plays. Where in I see Woods being more valuable to our team but Goodwin being the bigger playmaker. If that makes any sense. On the other hand if we don't add a legitimate play maker to this offense we may have no choice but to count on Goodwin.
  23. I understand this thread is about trading down but hear me out. I used to gripe about our team being completely void of top end talent. This has dramatically changed imo over the last 3 years especially on the defensive side of the ball. I think our top end talent on offense is Wood and Glenn and our only play maker on the offensive side of the ball is CJ Spiller. Before you start killing me I'm fully aware that players like Woods and Goodwin are capable of being play makers but it's a bit too early to call them that. IMO it's crucial to stay put at pick 9 and take an offensive play maker. I think that player is Evans. 6'5: WR's that run like that don't come around very often.
