  1. This stat would also go a long way towards understanding college QB's as well.
  2. It's being reported that all NFL teams must interview someone with long hair before offering anyone the job.
  3. "Yeah, I used to go to the super bowl a lot, back when it was interesting. It sold out, man, I’m not going back." Why don't I get this?
  4. Right, but none of those rules mean every team has to do it. Only reason I care is most feel if we have to do it, let's do it now and get it over with.
  5. I never heard every team has to do it.
  6. Early in the year I thought he'd be a replacement option for Pettine if he got a head coaching opportunity.
  7. These are pretty specific concerns you have. What makes you think Marrone takes away special teams time from players? Is it just the results that make you feel he's doing this or are you just offering that has a possibility?
  8. You didn't answer my question. What competition was brought in for these guys last year? The comment was unless you have Brady or Brees every team constantly brings in competition. This is clearly not true.
  9. What competition was brought in for Newton, Kaepernick, Luck, Dalton, Tannehill, Ryan, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Smith, Rivers, E. Manning, Cutler, Stafford, and Wilson?
  10. I don't think so. I'd rather my coach leave a guy that performs like that alone and make him feel secure to concentrate solely on getting better. Maybe Foles will turn the roles on Kelly when free agency comes a calling.
  11. Someone told me yesterday $5 per month of your cable bill is for ESPN. Pretty high for one lineup.
  12. You honestly think what you watched this year was "more of the same"? I can understand from a record standpoint, but don't you think it was at least much better football defensively and that this team has much more talent than in years past because of what Whaley and company did last off season?
  13. I've never seen this show before. They should play this on like ESPN or something and use it as a marketing tool for the players.
  14. I have about 85% faith that Marrone is a coach that can win consistantly in the NFL. I've always believed that the best coaches have a solid unwavering philosophy. Marrone seems to be an unwavering principled type of person (consistant). Although I think he's a bit too eager to tell everyone about his philosophies, but that doesn't bother me too much as I feel like he's just trying to satisfy people. My second belief in a coach is his ability to build a strong relationship with his starting QB. So far relationships appear to be something that comes easy for Marrone. Unfortunately for Marrone and many other quality coaches their success depends largely on the performance of their QB. There's just no way around that. If the starting QB doesn't perform everything erods from there. Every other strong quality a coach may have will sadly become irrelevant. Now to EJ. I think he has most of the physical and intangeable tools to become successful. So from that standpoint I'm about 90% confident in him. Unfortunately to become a great NFL QB IMO only 50% is physical and the rest is mental. It's so difficult for a fan to know where his strengths and weaknesses are in his ability to study defenses. Based only on being priveledged to game watching, I'm only about 50% confident based on his rookie performance. I even think a portion of his mental game contributed to the first injury in the season. Knowing where he'll be next year with this is so difficult but I'll put another 10% on top of his rookie grade of 50%, So I'm 90% confident in his physical and intangeable capabilites and 60% on his classroom capabilities. As mentioned if each is about 50% my faith in EJ being the guy is 75%.
  15. I think he's the DROY and it's not close. So from my point of view an easy analysis.
  16. I understand there are times when you have to fire a coach if the mob is shouting for it. History proves there are several examples of leaders having no choice but to lean towards the will of the people. I don't know what would scare me more, that the current leaders would fold to the fans after year one of their plan, or if they did and thought Hilliard would be an acceptable sacrifice. I am personally behind this current group of leaders because they've given me very very little to complain about.
  17. I'm not sure but they couldn't afford Reggie Bush so surely they must have a plan for Graham, I'm just saying it's not going to be that easy to execute. He'll want upfront money and probably $10-$11 average per season with over $20 guaranteed. They are going to have to back load the salary cap hit on the signing bonus because of the current salary cap situation. It's a dificult task because you would like to absorb the signing bonus/salary as much as possible during the players most productive years so that if he isn't later he's not hurting your team with both diminished skills and a large salary cap hit.
  18. I think it's a bit more difficult to get 3 players to restructure than you think. It's tough because you really need to know the details of each contract obviously. Just seems to me if you're around $9 million over the cap, it's tough to sign a free agent to a $60 million dollar contract. I don't think it's impossible but it will mean losing several players you like.
  19. This is a difficult number. If the Saints prioritize Graham as much as we believe they will it's going to take more creativity than just cutting some players. Brees' contract escalates to 1 million more in 2014 (18.4 mil) so nothing crazy there above 2013. Still it won't be easy finding room to dedicate $9-11$ million to another player, which essentially means the movement of $18-20$ million in salaries.
  20. We will franchise Byrd Hughes gets a long term contract Chandler is our starting TE and we don't draft one EJ Manuel misses 3 more games to injury but has an excellent year We go 9-7
  21. Buffalonian I would like to know why the folks left. Maybe it's a weird closure thing I have, but it always drove me crazy not to know. I've reached out to several of the folks mentioned just hoping they'd respond, but no one did. I'm sure several people that know these folks know why but I think it would be helpful so that the current participants can help make the site a better place.
  22. Expecially when he's doing a fantastic job.
  23. Don't you guys know that cliche's and endless dripple about teamwork and togetherness don't work? Just ask Leelee Phoenix.
  24. Every year. You should keep in mind those are Chris Browns words not Marrone's, but you won't.
