  1. When you have to fill up speaking-seats on NFLN, ESPNxxx channels, what quality do you expect. Byrd has also been on ****ty teams that cannot stop the run. May be if he plays on a team like the Steelers or Ravens, he can prove that he is as good or better than Polamalu or Ed Reed, both of whom benefit from a fantastic front seven.
  2. The Easter Bunny finally has woken up from its slumber and realized that it is late by couple of weeks every year and wants to make amends moving forward!!!
  3. And yet posters will say "It does not matter, as long as RW is the owner of this team" sigh.... Why stop at 7 ?
  4. It is a strange coincidence that two of the games greatest MLB retired in the same season. It is going to be a tough vote to Canton 5 years from now...Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher? May be honestly these guys have lost a step. Remember, this game is all about speed. The day you lose your speed or ability to counter speed, you are done. What...I thought this board was of the opinion that the Bills Rookie class will be in the running for both OROY and DROY....and that is not discussion material!!
  5. We have seen debacle after debacle for the past 13 years....As long as they show promise and progress, what is the big deal in another frustrating year!
  6. The biggest problem with Freddie last year was his fumble issues. If he can correct them this off season, I have no problems. About 200+ players were drafted and 100+ players were signed as UDFAs in this years draft. Technically, about 300+ players have a chance to be DROY and OROY. The probability is pretty low.
  7. With the slew of WRs selected in April, I don't think Easley is going to get much a chance. The coaching staff will figure out to keep their guys on the roster. Tebow would love to have that conversation with you.
  8. +1. Good one. And why don't defensive players actually touch the QB and get a sack on that play ? After all, the QB and the ball are behind the Line of Scrimmage.
  9. It is cool for the Ref. to announce it that way "Half-the Distance to the Goal....Repeat First Down"...Some charm to it.
  10. Technically that is not too bad, considering that his first six years is not much into football (NFL). Think about those kids that are 18-20 years of age and who were pushed into the NFL just as Flutie was weaving his magic. For them the next 13 years of their life would have been bill-strutating....
  11. Almost feels like Losman to Evans!!! I hope these two can deliver more than just the once-in-a-while bombs! Agree. If Rogers and Gragg can come along and claim starting spots, then we could really really have an exciting offense with Spiller, SJ and these rookies and of course along with EJ.
  12. "He's got great range" is as equally bad as "slow eyes".....:-)
  13. Unless CJ Spiller is cut, I don't see any teams jumping to get our discards.
  14. The best hope since Levy was his immediate successor, Wade Phillips. However, he couldn't get over the hump.
  15. It is like the guy who quoted EJ as having "slow eyes"......Our new wave of Journalists love to throw stuff at people without themselves knowing the meaning of what they write.
  16. Marronne has clearly stated that he will pick his team based solely on ability and ability to compete. Age is not important. If Lindell plays better than Hopkins, then Lindell keeps his job.
  17. Chan wouldn't let his QBs audible in the game.
  18. Now we have to go through five additional Mock Drafts from the clowns in ESPN and NFL network.
  19. And don't forget the Best Defensive Coordinator in the league and we let him slip through our fingers by keeping Jerry Gray as DC (In Williams last year). Unfortunately when the bell came calling in Pittsburgh the next season, Dick was gone in spite of Mike Mularkey offering him the same role. Too late
  20. I think Peterson, Gore, Foster and Alfred Morris had more production than CJ last year (Irrespective of the fact that CJ was not given the ball enough). CJ also did not have enough TDs (again Gailey preferred to give the ball to Choice or Jackson inside the red zone) for the season. Hoping CJ has a monster season this year to finally shut up all the naysayers
  21. Or Pittsburgh, NY, New England, Tennessee, Seattle etc...All those post season games at Orchard Park is still in the memories of NFL fans. For me EJ appears to resemble a lot of Daunte Culpepper including the facial expressions and manners. I hope he can have the same success Daunte had with the Vikings throwing the rock to Moss, Carter etc.
  22. The problem is the NFL Draft will then become like the NBA draft...Meaning...No One cares. NFL is making a great amount of money by having the NFL Draft on TV. I like the idea of giving a hometown discount on the Salary Cap for a player who was drafted by the team and has gone on to do something *excellent*. It can always be defined by numbers (W/Ls, TDs, INTs, Tackles etc).
  23. There is both downside and upside to Naasib's tenure with the Giants. On the upside, he will sit on the bench and learn and may be traded to a QB needy team in a couple of years. (I believe 4th Rds only get a 3year deal). The downside is that while EJ, Barkley and Geno have a very good shot of starting and proving themselves in the NFL rightaway, Naasib has that door shut firmly in front of him unless there is a devastating injury to a player who has not missed any game in his career.
  24. This seems an insane statement. Why would a team want to stop the run by its LBs and not by your two most strongest defensive men. I thought people always stopped the run by DTs occupying the space and the LBs simply came in and finished the tackles.
  25. All this good when you have success and that starts with the QB. Without Ben Rothelisberger, that team was an average team with FitzCrappy type QBs. Once they had the Franchise QB then their mindset changed. Let us hope E.J. Manuel does to the Bills what Ben was able to do for the Steelers.
