  1. +1. You cannot get a great QB if you don't try. Getting a great QB is lucky. As Albert Einstein famously said: "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.".
  2. Why ? Fitz had won 5 games against some crappy opponents, except for the win against the Patriots. The Bills had yet to play a single AFC East game outside of the win against the Pats. They could have simply waited the season and worst case may have ended up paying another Million a year if he had a better season. The Bills did not peel the onion to see if Fitz was the real reason for those wins and they would have found out that he was still an inconsistent QB. +1. Especially when there was literally no support from the other end. When Bruce Smith was racking up those sacks, Phil Hansen would hold down the fort on those 1-on-1 match ups...There is no Phil Hansen on this team. Chris Kelsay cannot even hold Hansen's Jock...And to make it worse, the DTs were simply porous. I think Williams had a good season. The only one thing I was disappointed slightly was his leadership, but then I really did not expect much, because he clearly told that to the team and the fans (at the time of signing) that he is not going to be the vocal leader of the team. He simply will lead by his actions.
  3. I believe he made 3.5M the previous year. THe 20+ M bonus must be for closing the labor issues.
  4. Every time Wood has been injured, Ryan Fitzpatrick game has nose dived. I agreed that Wood being injured so often is a great concern. However, when he is on that line, he actually is the best player. Fitzpatrick throws much better when Wood is on that line up.
  5. I would see the 49ers going after McKelvin rather than a washed up McGee..I don't think McGee can return kicks anymore. He just wouldn't have that speed any more.
  6. The real issue is that the NFL wants people to fly in and spend all there money on Saturday and Sunday at the Hotels/Food/Entertainment. If the SB was on Saturday, then people are flying in on Saturday morning to the game and then leaving out of the city on Sunday afternoon. That is less money to the host city's economy.
  7. The usual suspects are there!
  8. And why not! After all he was the SB Winning QB.
  9. Quote by McGee from the Buffalo News article: “But what kind of argument can I make? I was there for 10 years. I’ve been hurt a lot. They didn’t have to give me too much of a reason why they had to move on. You’ve just got to accept it. I understand. It’s nothing I can get mad at." Simply a class act by a class individual. Good luck and best wishes to latch on to another Superbowl bound team.
  10. +1. If Barkley is available at #8, the Bills simply have to make that pick. If Barkley is gone, then they should get EJ Manuel in the 2nd round.
  11. Ogletree in the 1st and EJ Manuel in the 2nd.
  12. and may be sign Landry to a FA contract.
  13. There are 6-8 QBs who have 2nd round grades. I doubt any of teams reach for them in the 1st round. The problem is that we still draft the 8th in the 2nd round and I forsee a strong run on QBs at the beginning of the 2nd round (or some desperate team like the Bills will trade up to the bottom of the 1st to ensure that they get their guy).
  14. Gailey doesn't know how to evaluate QBs....There I said It....
  15. When Gailey was asked about it, he said something like: "It is hard to game plan with a heavy dose of both RBs on the field as if one of them gets injured, then the gameplan goes completely out the window". I am simply sensing that Gailey had dumbed down the game plan so low that he felt it would be hard for this team to adjust with the plays if one of the RBs went down. It is such a shame that both our offense and defense were so vanilla last year. Look at all the discussions on NFL.com. The article about Roman calling complex plays is so refreshing. I don't know when the Bills will be able to run such plays.
  16. Again, I don't Fitzpatrick to restructure his deal. I want him to take a pay cut and compete for the starting job. Restructuring simply gives cap relief, but we will still have to PAY his 10M for the year. Why would the Bills want to do that?
  17. We don't want Fitz to restructure. He simply needs to take a pay cut. Restructuring and giving his due 10M for this year as a bonus simply spreads the problem to the next few cap years. Fitz simply needs to take a big pay cut like 5M to stay with the team and compete for the starting job.
  18. The article wants to allocate about 15M of that 20M to signing two top flight FA + Rookies + Byrd. And he believes the Bills don't have official cap space for that unless they chop further.
  19. http://www.nfl.com/combine/story/0ap1000000138807/article/quarterbacks-by-the-numbers-geno-smith-ej-manuel-score-well
  20. I think that title still belongs to Ed Reed and/or Polamalu..albeit both are injured for a good part of the season
  21. I would love Saturday too...It would be Sunday morning for me in India and at least I can sit and watch the game without having to rush to work.
  22. +1. The only thing is does Flacco have the confidence to move to a team like Cleveland or Buffalo and be the difference maker!
  23. Good points Dibs. I hope the Bills can really address those five positions in FA. That would be a great move indeed. Only thing is I have not seen a team pay sign and pay so many FAs in the same year. Hopefully, you are correct. If Lloyd is willing to sign a cheap contract, why wouldn't he do that with New England. He is familiar with the system and has a great QB and are in contention for the super bowl every year. I just don't see Bowe, Boldin or Lloyd coming to the Bills this off season
  24. The only reason the Ravens may be forced to let him go is because they are backed against the cap. The other thing is these are simply negotiating ploys by the Ravens...You put fear into the player that you may be let go and he will more than likely bring his price down, especially considering the option is to go to Cleveland or Buffalo which are simply not yet ready to win post-season football games.
  25. Both are good moves IMHO. Both free lanced too much last season and tried to compensate for others...That never works in the NFL.
