  1. Its a better place to live than it is to visit. Much like Buffalo. If you haven't been to Houston since the 80s like many people in this thread, then you'd likely be in for a surprise were you to visit now.
  2. I was being as about as facetious as possible. There are more options for burgers, steaks, or beef fajitas in Houston than you can imagine. And the BBQ, well, don't even think about ordering pork*. Its brisket and beef rib or beef sausage. And when you get sick of standard burgers and steakhouses then you hit Fogo De Chao or Texas De Brazil for a change of pace. There has got to be at least 10-15 Brazilian steakhouses in the area.

  4. Galveston has a beach in the loosest sense of the word. I have not heard South Padre and Corpus referred to as East Texas before. And if Corpus is East Texas then I don't see how Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas qualify as West Texas. Normally, I hear west texas as everything west of San Antonio. Midland and Odessa are West Texas. Vast nothingness is West Texas.
  5. There's a beach in East Texas? Where'd you go? Uchi, MF? Next time you're in Houston hit me with a PM and I'll hook you up with where to go.
  6. I do not recognize the legitimacy of Taiwan Jones. He's still People's Republic Jones to me.
  7. Yes, I have been. Texas does in fact have an Outback and Golden Corral. No steakhouses though. Texans don't care for beef.
  8. Between hobo, ham wallet, and twat waffle, you certainly have your hands full these days.
  9. Seriously. Perhaps they identify as abled-bisexual?? Maybe they're developmentally fluid?? We don't know. Assuming someone's ability is another in a long list of patriarchal microagressions designed to further marginalize the oppressed. Check your privilege, TBD.
  10. Dude, it was a heartfelt comment. That's arguably the best kind of comment there is. Either way, its in the top 2.
  11. Lets just cyber for now. Tell me all your secrets.
  12. How many things do you find funny that other people may deem offensive? Where do you draw that arbitrary line? Who is the arbiter of what is and is not offensive? You claim to know better and that interests me. I'd like to hear more about what you know and why its better.
  13. I can make up words too, squid. Sagittarius. How's that grab you?
  14. No, you're just a better person than the rest of us because you find one less topic appropriate for humor. Just like all those people who use a few less words than I do.
  15. Darius is off the wagon again. This time its alcoholism. This week its a tweaked hammy, next week sclerosis of the liver. Sickening news. And he had just gotten off the synthetic marijuana too. I don't want to be too critical since hes probably suicidal.
  16. I guess you're just a worrier. Probably why your friends call you 'Whiskers'.
  17. I know a guy who had that procedure done and it totally changed his life. He started crushing the ball off the tee where before he could barely put the ball in play before the surgery and now all of these attractive older women want to take tandem baths with him and gaze out at the sunset. Hes totally crushing it in a major way. I stopped talking to him cause I can't stand all the whistling. Hate his guts now but I'm glad hes doing better.
  18. Belichek and his staff put players in a position to succeed. They aren't scheme dependent. Their game plan is situational and depends on their opponent. They shut out a playoff team and division winner with their 3rd string QB last year. With their second string QB in the lineup they go 2-1. Brady goes down and Matt f@#$ing Cassell leads them to an 11-5 record. New England could probably go 8-8 with Hackenburg under center.
  19. Marrone and Hackett completely mismanaged EJ and his development. That said, I don't recall EJ looking comfortable in the pocket. He would routinely hold on to the ball for a second too long, pat the ball again, stutter step and then float the ball to the receiver who, by that time, was well covered. If our defense wasn't so strong in year 2, EJ might have gotten more time but that unit was too strong to waste a year seeing if EJ could play. Not when Big Chaw Orton is out there ready to lead a team to a worse draft pick.
  20. How would EJ have lost the starting gig to Jameis after his senior season? EJ is a hard count specialist. That's the way I choose to remember him.
  21. Kyle Orton just picked up his phone and saw 57 unread texts from Doug Marrone.
  22. When you start threads like "which poetry makes you cry?" and "do you ever get that not so fresh feeling?", some trepidation is natural.
  23. I strongly disagree. Rudy's has good brisket but the best in Austin blow Rudy's away. 1. You can pre-order at La Barbecue and Franklin's a week in advance. Show up, skip the 2-3 hour line and grab your lunch. Franklin's has a 5lb minimum order I believe. La BBQ has no minimum orders and your order is hand cut when you show up. La BBQ has free beer for those waiting in line too. 2. Micklethwait's is on par with La Barbecue and the wait there was about 20 mins at peak time on a Sunday when I last visited.
  24. Its true. He missed that tackle that one time. Hes the worst.
  25. I know the saying but its pretty dumb in my opinion. There are 3 things that can happen with a run too, and two of them are bad. 1. Gain yards 2. Lose yards 3. Fumble
