  1. If he goes, it will be for trying too hard to appease the public rather than just staying the f@#$ out of it and passing the buck to law enforcement as the league has usually done. "This is a legal matter. We will leave it up to the courts. League policy says 2 game ban. We will examine the policy more closely in the offseason."

  3. It was comical listening to Goodell address that question. Basically, "No, we didn't need to see it on video to hand out an indefinite suspension. The video doesn't change how terrible the incident was. But after seeing the video we immediately handed out an indefinite suspension."
  4. Wow, you are lost. Just because the NFL has such policies doesn't mean they have any responsibility to you or society at large to mete out punishment. WTF is so hard to understand?
  5. Apparently the NFL should be deputized to act as a complement to our judicial system in cases where the law just doesn't go far enough and in that role, Goodell and the NFL have failed therefore public flogging for all.
  6. And you came to that conclusion based solely on my acknowledgement that said system exists??? Do go on. Right, which is why the NFL commissioner is not a f@#$ing substitute for the judicial system. Rape, as was used in the last terrible example, will be punishable by law as dictated by society. Its not the NFL's responsibility to administer any particular punishments.
  7. Yes. Yes it is. In fact, its the only way to responsibly hand out punishments. You're aware that we still have a judicial system, right?
  8. Just because the NFL may have the power to take a stand and change perception does not mean that its their responsibility to do so. Fact is the NFL has absolutely no responsibility to take a stand on this or any issue. It isn't Goodell's job to shape American society as he sees fit. Declaring that Goodell should lose his job for failing to take actions which are completely outside of his responsibilities as commissioner of the NFL is absolutely absurd. A more appropriate criticism of Goodell would be already having gone too far in that direction rather than not far enough.
  9. I just want to make it clear that I'm the most outraged and think Goodell should be tried for crimes against humanity.
  10. We don't need to think about issues. Just call for everyone's head. Rice, Harbaugh, Bisciotti, Goodell should all be fired and made to run the gauntlet.
  11. I adopted an agenda so I don't have to really know whats being discussed. I just address one superficial point in the most recent post and then deliver my rant about the QB or OL or Russ Brandon. Saves a lot of time.
  12. mrags should stay! Toasted sandwiches too!
  13. It appears that the ascendance of El Pegual to owner of Los Bills has furthered our plans to regionalize both North and South of the border. Viva El Pegual!!
  14. Thats Buscaglia's Party Line. It will cost you $3.99 a minute, but you get to chat with real live single Bills fans in your area.
  15. Would you like to talk to someone about your long distance plan?
  16. I don't think it was all that acceptable to listen to Bon Jovi before he tried to buy the Bills.
  17. Wow. Thats really encouraging. However, IF it turns out that what we've been talking about here for months is true, and El Pegual CANNOT own BOTH the BIlls AND the Sabres at the same time, well theres going to be egg all over bbb's face.
  18. I would just appreciate it if the NFL and the Ravens could drop the pretense of taking any particular moral stand or caring about domestic violence and stop insulting the intelligence of football fans.
  19. I'm sure that the locker room doesn't care all that much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrell_Suggs
  20. They always had a choice. I do not understand why or how its become a given that Ray had to be cut. If you agree its appeasement but its not a sign that social media is dictating the terms? Thats a mighty fine hair you're splitting. You don't see how appeasement might lead to more appeasement?
  21. I don't understand how after defending Ray Rice's character for the last seven months or so it is now "right" and "gutsy" to cut ties with him. If hes a good person and this was just an isolated incident and hes faced the legal consequences for his actions then how is cutting his ass the right thing to do at this point? Seems the story we've been fed and the actions are wildly inconsistent. The actions taken by the NFL and the Ravens look to me like nothing more than appeasement. I agree that this looks really bad for the Ravens and the NFL but not for the same reasons as most of you. The team and league are far more concerned with what is happening on twitter than what went down in that elevator.
  22. I hope Rog just lays it on the table and asks what more he has to do to appease the mob and shut everybody up.
  23. Guts may have been standing by the guy that they've defended for the last few months rather than bow to social media outrage.
