  1. Defense wins championships?
  2. There are posters here that flip out at even the slightest hint of criticism. They act as if you are insulting one of their family members. You can't have an honest football discussion if everyone is cheerleading. "Unfortunately, many regard the critic as an enemy, instead of seeing him as a guide to the truth"
  3. When Andy Reid was in Philly with McNabb I can't recall a single a complimentary post about the guy on these forums. I seem to recall only mocking derision. When he had Smith in KC all I remember is laughter. Now there are posters calling him the best offensive mind in football. Huh. I wonder what changed?
  4. Is he firing the white house back up?
  5. There's a lot of fans that have to tell themselves this nonsense so they can sleep at night. They know major FA reinforcements aren't coming this offsesaon.
  6. If only the first ward of Buffalo came up with some more money. Would have been a dream stadium. Alas, what could have been.
  7. Heartbreaking read.
  8. I say this fully aware that McD and Beane aren't going anywhere as long as Allen is under center. The dream scenario is to hire an offensive-minded head coach that will work with Allen for the rest of his career. When you have an elite QB you are going to be burning through offensive coordinators every ~3 years, so in a way we are already in the scenario you described. Allen will likely go through 4+ coordinators in his career. We are already in an evaluation period for Dorsey. I know what the offensive numbers are. Did we hit those because of Dorsey's gameplanning and scheming, or was it all Allen? I would certainly say the latter after year 1. Taylor/Burrow and Reid/Mahomes are at a huge advantage from a continuity standpoint.
  9. Well I'm wide awake now!
  10. Not going to die but it sure as hell isn't going to go up.
  11. I see Shanahan and McVay over Harbaugh. Just delete this clown thread 😂😂
  12. The kid just gets it.
  13. Yes, exactly my point. Ed Oliver was a consensus top 10 pick. Rousseau was slated to go late in the 1st round. Epenesa and Basham were both projected 2nd round picks. None of these players were "reaches" or what you would call "egregious" picks. Are all 4 of them actually just poor to mediocre players? I guess it's possible but I would expect at least one of them to flash considering their pedigrees.
  14. Teller was an incredible pick. An absolute grand-slam home run in the 5th round. The kind of pick you talk about for years. A total mauling, road grader guard that this team so desperately needs. Except he wasn't coached and developed properly here. He started half a season for us and looked completely lost. This staff concluded he had a limited ceiling and traded him for peanuts. Cleveland saw something we didn't, and after 1 season there he's been a 2nd team All Pro for the past 2 years. That's right, we got played by Cleveland. Every GM is going to miss more picks than they hit, but you have to correctly develop the hits.
  15. Imagine if Miami blew us out in the Wildcard round and they lit buildings up downtown in Dolphins' colors as a tribute to them. Yeah, that wouldn't play well here either. Not at all.
  16. One more hit to the head and the hole will create itself. Better to plan it out and deal with it now than in October.
  17. How do they watch? Through thick rose-colored glasses. Get ready for 8 months of "Guys we won 13 games!!!!!"
  18. Ruben Brown not eligible?
  19. They went to the Superbowl last year by defeating KC. They just whipped our butts. They've demonstrated over the last 2 seasons that they are a better team than us. If you're not going to put them on a pedestal, you better damn well not put us on a pedestal.
  20. If Oliver is moved it would be the most fascinating transaction of the offseason IMO. If he went somewhere else and became an inside force (i.e. ~10 sack season) it would be a huge indictment of the coaching staff. Ditching an All-Pro guard in Teller was a massive failure at all levels and Juan Castillo had to be the fall guy for that. If Oliver is jettisoned and immediately dominates for another team there is no manifesting a fall guy -- it would be blatant dysfunction from the top on display.
