  1. Phantom false start call on Eagles. Missed holding on Pats DB on 3rd down!! Is it starting already??
  2. He's a great coach and does his homework. He also obsesses and cheats as we have seen. BB also isn't afraid to push the envelope and try plays, formations or gimmicks that border on illegal but the refs don't know what to call because they have never seen it before. But the one thing that makes BB better than almost any other coach is that he is a smarter than average man in a sea of idiots at HC. Time and again BB just waits for the other HC to lose his nerve and make that fatally dumb error and time and again they do just that. I don't think what BB does is something extraspecial, he just comes off that way because the others are so poor.
  3. Have we not seen enough of this guy? 5 INT in 30 minutes performance not enough to convince you that he's not NFL material? There are so many better options out there as a backup let alone a starter yet people want to keep Peterman around because he's a nice guy?? Sorry but what could possibly make people think he can be a QB in this league? what makes people think he will recover mentally recover from such a disastrous debut?
  4. Great article and best of luck to Aaron in whatever he does in life. Also makes me appreciate Fred Jackson so much more for what he did behind the scenes with this team. The day they released Fred was a dark day as a Bills fan and one of the many bad moves during the drought.
  5. All I can say about Alex Smith is that after seeing him choke (yet again) in the playoffs I am kinda glad that hes never going to be a Bill. As for Cousins I not getting my hopes up yet. It would be great to sign him but please lets not get stupid about money. Everytime we do that the player all of a sudden becomes mediocre to terrible. Also If we did get Cousins please draft a 1st round QB anyway for depth!
  6. I agree, the amount of times that Fitz threw that fade route INT because the arm strength wasn't always there was ridiculous. One INT in particular I remember was against the Giants in NY and it killed us. Like Dirty Harry said "A mans gotta learn his limitations".
  7. Nah, the players don't deserve the dishonor of the drought, it should all be coaches carved on there. Now that would be epic. Greg Williams with a sourpuss, clueless expressions on Rex, Chan and Mularkey, St.doug with those douchey shades on, Dick Jauron with his shellshocked 1000 yard stare. Tourist attraction for sure!! Put it near the cliffs at Niagara Falls!!
  8. I watched the replay of last year's SB game. The officiating was decent overall. Which means the usual borderline incompetent NFL quality but not egregiously bias. The penalties the Pats got especially near the end seemed to be legit. The key to their victory was not the refs, the amazing play of Brady or the flukey catches (like Edelman's) it was the Falcons coaches making some of the worst decisions at crucial times of any team ever in a SB. On the last Falcon drive of regulation. Trying to throw the ball on 2nd down on the Pat's 24 and getting a sack. Then taking a ( legit) penalty on 3rd down to push them back to the 45 yard line. Where on a 3rd and 33 they throw a terrible incomplete pass. It was like they wanted themselves to lose. They were in FG range to go up by 2 scores all they had to do was run it 3 times, kill the clock and force the Pats to burn timeouts and win the game. Instead stupidity took over and once again the Pats just waited for that and took full advantage. Still unbelievable watching it happen a year later, especially after the Seattle stupidity.
  9. I appreciated Eric wood for so many things but the one of them was his honesty. He called it as he saw it. His segment on WGR was candid and intelligent. Probably my favorite regular player or former player segment on the station. I always remember him being totally blunt about the Bills in Toronto embarrassment a few years ago, he hated it and wasn't afraid to say it.
  10. Been a Bills fan for almost 40 years and there are few Bills players that I can think of in that time who were warriors on the field, leaders on the team and had the combination of intelligence, honesty and articulation of speech like Eric had. I feel very sad hearing this news. At least he got the playoffs once. Instant wall of fame player here.
  11. Ironic that the pick that the Bills used to get Kelly was in a trade from Cleveland for the NFL rights to Tom Cousineau who once again ironically spurned the Bills to go to the Montreal Alouettes. I wonder if Jim would have gone to Cleveland had they picked him at that spot. In those days, the Browns were half decent team. The Bills were really disrespected as an organization in the early 80s despite having some good teams in that stretch.
  12. You just beat me to the almost exact same question. I am hoping for an answer as well.
  13. Just out of curiosity. Has there ever been a successful athlete in any sport that has had as horrendous a debut as Nate Peterman? I mean your first game and you set a record for futility? I think whatever possible positives about this guy were swept away FOREVER after San Diego. How could anyone have the psychological fortitude to come back from that experience? I know Peterman is a holy roller and probably thinks it was all part of God's plan but you would have to either be the most confident man in the world or completely delusional for that San Diego performance not to rip apart your self worth.
  14. I think that this is going to be Schwartz's masterpiece game. If he can stay aggressive vs Brady and not blink like St.Doug did the Eagles will win this. The only other big ? is the refs. If memory serves do the Pats get BS calls from the refs in the SB? regular season and other playoff games of course but in the actual big game have the refs helped the Pats out? I think the SB games have been decently officiated but the Pats have been in so many I cannot remember.
  15. I think I feel like McEnroe does about the call with regards to Peterman:
  16. I have always thought this!! They are good enough to win anyway, why even cheat on a slight scale that might tarnish the team/ the dynasty when you don't have to?? Its just weird.
  17. It still hurts to read that sentence. What a bust he was. Sad that they traded up for that. Too bad they didn't trade up to get Roethlisberger. But I guess they weren't that ambitious.
  18. Schwartz is just like Wade, great defensive coordinator but only a mediocre head coach. He has done an excellent job in Philly as he did here. I might be wrong but he seems like the type of guy that is ok with doing his thing as a coordinator and avoiding the pressures of head coaching. I still remember when the Bills players raised him up on their shoulders after their victory in Detroit. The players loved him and went to war for him. The exact opposite of Rex. I've often wondered how that celebration after the Detroit win played out with St.Doug? I really wish that after Marrone, we had brought in someone who could have convinced Schwartz to stay but obviously faced with Rex he wanted no part of it. Rex also wasn't going to let someone else get the glory on D either. Sad backwards step for the Bills.
  19. I think Keenum can win you a championship maybe once if the stars align, you have a great running game and defense, and you get some breaks (like the Playoff miracle in Minni this year). He is better than Trent Dilfer. I just don't think he can sustain that for more than a season. He seems like the type of QB that given enough time, Defensive coordinators soon find a way to neutralize. I really don't expect him to ever have that lightning in a bottle again. Against Philly he looked exactly the player he was with the Rams.
  20. Overall I think the PI penalty rule needs to be changed and a few other rules.. 1. They have to allow more incidental contact and mutual battling between the DB and receiver. Its a rough game and having penalties like Bouye's one for a few caresses is ludicrous. . 2. The penalty needs to stop being a spot foul because that will get teams (Patriots) to stop manufacturing the fouls for 50 yard advancements of the ball. 15 yard penalty like in college. 3. There needs to be a huge change across the board in the quality of officiating, better training and more situational awareness. 4. Coaches should have 1 challenge a game just for penalties. They could challenge calls or ask for a penalty on an egregious non call. The current situation is stupid.
  21. wow that is a really odd post. Apparently the "dead horse" of Rob Johnson still triggers impassioned defenses from Rob nation. Sorry to upset you. peace bro!
  22. Seriously dude you need to lighten up a bit and take a burn in stride, its all in fun (at least for me). . Also if you cannot see the irony of "calling people out" about the quality of your screen name when yours is a pejorative term I cannot really help you. BTW my screen name is self deprecating. I "live in the past" being a Bills fan because recent times (like a 17 year drought) were too painful and embarrassing. And no its not about mid to late 90s to 2000s. why in the hell would that be the past I would like to live in?? its directly related to the 88-94 time period. Go watch some Ytube vids on the Bills from those years, they were magic. Anyway I was answering another post, quite honestly I might add. If you were a Bills fan in the late 90s watching Rob Johnson practically fail to do anything on a multitude of plays on offense and then watching your coach (Wade) fail to pull him and put somebody who could (and did) do something in games like Flutie then you literally had to hope for a game ending injury for Johnson. That was the only way he was going to come out and therefore the only chance for the Bills to win. So wishing for a Johnson injury was not so much glee at seeing him get hurt, it was needing him to get the hell out of there so the Bills had a chance at winning. Wade was way too stubborn and felt the pressure of ownership to not pull the plug on "Robo sack" because of the big contract. So that rationale is somehow "tired and "feeble" because it accurately describes a situation for me and a huge bunch of other fans at the time?? That's a laughably lame criticism. Wait you aren't Rob Johnson are you?
  23. Lofty expectations of the screen name!! By a guy who calls himself "transient"??? are you posting this from "a van, down by the river!!!" LOL
  24. This post got me thinking back to the days before TBD and the usenet Bills newsgroup. I think that was my first experience with the concept of a Troll. I can remember a couple of the early Patriot trolls called "Man in CT" and " Pats wicked pissah" that would wind up Bills fans back then. Hell there are so many Pats trolls in here now that they are probably still on here!!
