Great game for the neutral fan but another gut punch for those Bills fans like me who are biding their time (endlessly it seems) for Brady to look his age and think about retirement. Too bad the Pats got the ball last because by the 4th Q both defenses were gassed and could almost score at will.

He may yet be a bust but looking at Brady last night, a mediocre college career proves absolutely nothing for the NFL.

Yes, actually you completely missed the point. Any big team with a well known QB never gets treated like that. Brady, Brees , Big Ben, Rogers even Mahomes would totally get that late hit call but not the Bills. Which was the POINT. Thanks for the advice about watching other teams than the Bills which I already do and thanks for your stunning insight that there is questionable/crappy officiating in every game. Look at my original post and see the following sentence "The refs are inept league wide". I guess that wasn't clear enough. I never mentioned any conspiracy against the Bills so not sure why I need a "Tin foil" beanie. Don't think its whining for the Bills to call out the refs for not doing their job publicly. It makes sense because whatever the Bills are doing now (or not doing) isnt changing anything in the league office.

I don't think Allen was that bad today. I am actually really pissed off though that the inevitable injury happened to him because of the complete negligence of Beane to get some quality protection in the offensive line. Todays injury resulted from the pocket collapsing yet again. Which seems to happen 2 or 3 /4 downs for the Bills Even if their plan was to not play Allen this season, they had to know that whoever was the QB would get murdered behind this line. So why in the hell did they not draft or bring in any FA Olineman??

I have no idea what Peterman has done to earn the adoration of Beane and McD. Is it simply the holy roller Christian connection? Other than that Bridgewater would have made a lot of sense or Matt moore, even Ryan Fitzpatrick. The fact that they seemed to ignore alternatives to Peterman for a backup or even to ignore mentor qbs for Allen is insane.

So the Bills just lost their starting "franchise" QB on late and illegal hit and there was absolutely no call from the officials on the play. and your response is that the Bills organization should say nothing about this? and fans should not be justifiably outraged?? because its "whining". That's pure brilliance. In addition, you've also completely missed the OP's point about the refs disrespect towards the Bills which is proven by the aforementioned illegal hit.

Actually the OP has a good point and it isn't the obvious "refs cost us the game" Bills fan whine. The OP is correct in stating that the Bills are completely disrespected by the officials week in week out and yet our coaches and GM and owner say nothing. The refs are inept league wide, the standard of officiating has tumbled drastically as the league has grown but one thing has stayed consistent for years. Which is the refs don't dare call garbage or miss blatant calls on the "big league" teams. The Bills on the other hand are never given the benefit of the doubt. The late and illegal double hit on Allen today showcases this disrespect. Why on earth after 6 weeks of over protecting the star QBs would they not have called the Texans for a late hit and/or a leading with the helmet hit on the Texans players?? Because they are not very good at their jobs and they have nothing to worry about if they make a mistake, after all its just lowly Buffalo. The Bills as an organization have to man up and stand up for their players. The NFL needs to be held accountable for their inept officials and maybe, just maybe if we hollered enough about the officials instead of meekly standing aside as they regularly screw up, we might actually make them think twice about some of the garbage or phantom calls or even the non calls. The way we are just tolerating this BS right now is completely unacceptable.

holy crap, the stupidity about Peterman needs to end with him being cut on Monday. The fact that the Beane and McD thought after the Chargers game that he could ever recover and be viable as a QB going forward is literally evidence exhibit A for both Beane and McD to be fired as well. Are they seriously trying to tell us that there are no other QBs available that are better than Peterman? That there is no availability at this position ? You thought that Allen wasn't ready for the NFL, that's fine but Peterman is your only PLAN B? and you trade McCarron?? where was the 3rd QB option before Anderson? completely insane management!!

I loved how the refs were paying acute attention to our formations and calling those huge penalties for the most innocuous error of position. Yet the idiot officials somehow miss a double late hit on Josh Allen with one Texan player leading his helmet into Allen's chest and another smacking high in his raised arm which is so hard that causes him injury. Even after all their ridiculous over protections for other QBs around the league in previous games!!!

Jury still out on Allen. Way too many variables this year to rate him. The line is terrible, the receiving corps is awful, People like Benjamin seem to actually dislike him. He has had a mediocre running game at best.

I have never seen a QB telegraph his passes like Peterman does. He literally makes it as obvious as possible where he is going to throw it. Its almost like he has told the opponents dbs where he is going to put it. He is the most amateurish passer. Reminds me of playing touch football with my drunken friends. pathetic!!

Both also probably have exaggerated opinions on their self worth. In any event it would be extremely foolish for either of these guys or anyone else who is a Free agent to be snobby about trying out for a team just because they may not like the coaching staff or the city. Sure there are funner cities than Buffalo but who cares, anywhere is amazing if you are millionaire! Its also really bad for any free agents to be away from the game for any length of time. The amount of rust on these guys just becomes way too difficult to shake off. Watching someone like Manziel struggle in the CFL with Montreal just shows you that any time away from football is lethal for your career longevity. I can only assume that its the Bills who haven't bothered to contact these guys because they don't fit the "process" or the character requirement. Which is also pretty stupid under the circumstances.

How in the hell does someone amass this much money while being so stupid? Moving a team to London??? Worst idea ever! Even having games outside the USA bastardizes the NFL. The games in London are a joke just like the Bills in Toronto series was, same as the games in Mexico. Keep all the games in the USA and stop ruining the league with this nonsense.

I have been screaming for calls like this for the better part of the last decade with these ultra boring Offensive coordinators we have had. I have to give Daboll some credit. He has shown some glimpses of innovation and daring. The only problem was surprise, surprise, the Bills receiver (in this case the lumbering Benjamin) had no separation and was double covered. They desperately need a speedy receiver who can fake a DB out of his pants and get open. Is there nobody on the team who is capable of this?

Exactly. The best NFL coaches (or coaches in any sport) learn and adapt on the fly. Most importantly they learn to put the success of the team before their stubbornness. I thought in the Minni game we might have had a breakthrough on this with Daboll, however the Packers game looked like a relapse back to the same stubborn game plan of forcing the square peg in the round hole that Daboll did in games 1 and 2 that resulted in garbage. I cannot believe how many mediocre coaches there are out there in this league, getting paid top dollar for uninventive and ineffective performance.

The Chiefs did everything right in this scenario. They saw potential in Mahomes and picked him when others passed. They sat him for a year and let him watch a seasoned pro like Smith. They prepared him for his debut by surrounding him with weapons and protection. If anything the Bills have failed in every aspect of this process with Allen. No mentor, no sitting for a year, no weapons and no protection. That's all on Beane.

My earliest Bills memory is from the 1979 season when I was 10. I remember quite a bit about the early 80s Bills but I must have scrubbed most of this painful season out of my memory banks. I can barely remember Ferragamo as a Bill. I do remember that Ferragamo was pretty much a shadow of his former self by the time he was with the Bills. The QB that took the Rams to the SB in the 79 season was long gone. I do actually recall Ferragamo's disaster as a QB in the CFL with Montreal a couple of years before that. He basically bankrupted the franchise and his performance was putrid. The 85 team was possibly the worst Bills team of all time.

That was the following year with Bullough.

When he does it for every TD up by 30+ pts on Sunday Night football like Bellichick did it vs us in that destruction in the Jauron era , then its a true Ahole move. This just minor dbag stuff compared to the Hoodie.

For a league that generates this much money, how in the hell can they justify such a low standard of quality with these officials. They miss stuff regularly, they call phantom penalties that the networks strangely don't take a 2nd look with replay at even though some of the penalties can change the course of a game. Then when instant replay gives some extra clarity to a confusing play, Al Rivieron or whoever it is on in the league office making the call from the booth completely ignores what the HD cameras are showing. The Josh Allen "fumble" was an absolute joke today. Good thing the game was already out of reach and it made no difference but both knees were clearly on the ground before the ball came out. Then the Cleveland first down call?? They overturned a GOOD call on the field despite having no evidence to do so!!! What the hell is going on? Perhaps the NFL should have officials on the field and in the booth who have 20/20 vision or don't need coke bottle thick reading glasses? Beyond ridiculous!

I thought today was a really dumb game plan from the offense. The Packers have a great pass rush, we knew that going in but the Daboll seems to have thought that somehow the O Line could deal with it. There should have been way more screens, quick slants, hitches or shovel passes to avoid this. Instead they played into the Packers hands by pushing Allen into throwing deep balls with little time to set up. Allen took a huge beating because of this, with sacks, hurries and knock downs after the throws. The Bills receivers just cannot get any separation from Dbs and they have difficulty with the zip Allen puts on the ball (judging by more drops today). Cannot stand that we constantly seem unprepared for teams whose strengths we know. Just plain dumb.
