  1. I think I feel like McEnroe does about the call with regards to Peterman:
  2. I have always thought this!! They are good enough to win anyway, why even cheat on a slight scale that might tarnish the team/ the dynasty when you don't have to?? Its just weird.
  3. It still hurts to read that sentence. What a bust he was. Sad that they traded up for that. Too bad they didn't trade up to get Roethlisberger. But I guess they weren't that ambitious.
  4. Schwartz is just like Wade, great defensive coordinator but only a mediocre head coach. He has done an excellent job in Philly as he did here. I might be wrong but he seems like the type of guy that is ok with doing his thing as a coordinator and avoiding the pressures of head coaching. I still remember when the Bills players raised him up on their shoulders after their victory in Detroit. The players loved him and went to war for him. The exact opposite of Rex. I've often wondered how that celebration after the Detroit win played out with St.Doug? I really wish that after Marrone, we had brought in someone who could have convinced Schwartz to stay but obviously faced with Rex he wanted no part of it. Rex also wasn't going to let someone else get the glory on D either. Sad backwards step for the Bills.
  5. I think Keenum can win you a championship maybe once if the stars align, you have a great running game and defense, and you get some breaks (like the Playoff miracle in Minni this year). He is better than Trent Dilfer. I just don't think he can sustain that for more than a season. He seems like the type of QB that given enough time, Defensive coordinators soon find a way to neutralize. I really don't expect him to ever have that lightning in a bottle again. Against Philly he looked exactly the player he was with the Rams.
  6. Overall I think the PI penalty rule needs to be changed and a few other rules.. 1. They have to allow more incidental contact and mutual battling between the DB and receiver. Its a rough game and having penalties like Bouye's one for a few caresses is ludicrous. . 2. The penalty needs to stop being a spot foul because that will get teams (Patriots) to stop manufacturing the fouls for 50 yard advancements of the ball. 15 yard penalty like in college. 3. There needs to be a huge change across the board in the quality of officiating, better training and more situational awareness. 4. Coaches should have 1 challenge a game just for penalties. They could challenge calls or ask for a penalty on an egregious non call. The current situation is stupid.
  7. wow that is a really odd post. Apparently the "dead horse" of Rob Johnson still triggers impassioned defenses from Rob nation. Sorry to upset you. peace bro!
  8. Seriously dude you need to lighten up a bit and take a burn in stride, its all in fun (at least for me). . Also if you cannot see the irony of "calling people out" about the quality of your screen name when yours is a pejorative term I cannot really help you. BTW my screen name is self deprecating. I "live in the past" being a Bills fan because recent times (like a 17 year drought) were too painful and embarrassing. And no its not about mid to late 90s to 2000s. why in the hell would that be the past I would like to live in?? its directly related to the 88-94 time period. Go watch some Ytube vids on the Bills from those years, they were magic. Anyway I was answering another post, quite honestly I might add. If you were a Bills fan in the late 90s watching Rob Johnson practically fail to do anything on a multitude of plays on offense and then watching your coach (Wade) fail to pull him and put somebody who could (and did) do something in games like Flutie then you literally had to hope for a game ending injury for Johnson. That was the only way he was going to come out and therefore the only chance for the Bills to win. So wishing for a Johnson injury was not so much glee at seeing him get hurt, it was needing him to get the hell out of there so the Bills had a chance at winning. Wade was way too stubborn and felt the pressure of ownership to not pull the plug on "Robo sack" because of the big contract. So that rationale is somehow "tired and "feeble" because it accurately describes a situation for me and a huge bunch of other fans at the time?? That's a laughably lame criticism. Wait you aren't Rob Johnson are you?
  9. Lofty expectations of the screen name!! By a guy who calls himself "transient"??? are you posting this from "a van, down by the river!!!" LOL
  10. This post got me thinking back to the days before TBD and the usenet Bills newsgroup. I think that was my first experience with the concept of a Troll. I can remember a couple of the early Patriot trolls called "Man in CT" and " Pats wicked pissah" that would wind up Bills fans back then. Hell there are so many Pats trolls in here now that they are probably still on here!!
  11. Wow this post is awesome!! Totally takes me back to the old internet of the 90s!! I was on the Alt. Bills usenet group for a while, I think until Outlook eventually stopped using a newsreader?? Seems so archaic now! AS for the first post? Trading up for Ryan Leaf!!!! LOL I forgot what a highly touted prospect he was before the draft. He was cant miss. Flutie was signed just before the launch of TBD? I can actually remember that brief honeymoon where it was just Flutie? Am I remembering that right? Johnson arrived through trade in February and the circus began. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!!
  12. Gilmore made a spectacular play on that pass and deserves full credit for it. He was a great player in his first years here but trailed off in his last year. That play reminded me of what I liked about him here. On the other hand if Gilmore makes that exact same play for the Jags VS Gronk or Edelman the refs would mysteriously call it pass interference .
  13. The end of the first half one was not PI, not even close to PI. #1 Receiver went out of bounds so how is he eligible? #2 ball thrown by golden god brady was at least 5-7 yards beyond receiver who was on the wrong side = uncatchable therefore NO PI. #3 Jags player and Pats player are battling equally for the ball. why is penalty on Jags player? #4 Pats player bats Jags player with his arm in the head! = PI on Jags player???? The PI in the 2nd half was legit, the first half one was not!!
  14. I normally don't, but Gronk and Rob Johnson are exceptions.
  15. And apparently you do?? Last time I checked Karma was your intents and actions in life influencing future actions that happen to you. So Gronk concusses another player with a dirty hit and then strangely a few weeks later by chance Gronk gets concussed by a dirty? arguably hit. Am I missing something here? Are you a HIndu Scholar or something and illuminate me as to how that doesn't resemble karma? As for the Pats, yes as a collective, they have yet to achieve karmic retribution for much of anything and yes they will probably win again this year but at least Gronk got some measure of punishment. On a side note: I don't really believe in karma.....LOL
  16. It took a few weeks but it looks like the universe just paid Gronk back for his dbaggery vs Tre White. While I usually wince at hits to the head, it was very sweet to see that oaf get his comeuppance. TBH it didn't look like an intentionally dirty hit by the Jags defender. It might have been an accident as the Jags defender leads with the shoulder but follows through to Gronk's head. Nice that karma finally caught up to one these Pats players, finally!!
  17. CFL refs are far , far superior to NFL refs. Less teams of them because of a smaller league = leads to much higher quality of officiating. In addition the CFL refs haven't been bought off by Kraft. The Eagles would have a great chance if by some chance occurrence, every single NFL ref came down with food poisoning right before the SB and they brought in some untainted officials!!
  18. The Eagles pass rush is the biggest factor on D and Foles is still a huge ? on the offense. Foles played the best game of his career tonight. Can he ever hope to repeat that? Can the Eagles stay calm in the game? The Patriots NEVER get rattled, they never get nervous and that seems to trump so many things when they come up against a solid D. They have so much big game experience now they just wait for the opposition to choke. If the Eagles can get to Brady and rough him up early and Foles can keep the magic going, its going to be a hell of a game.
  19. And Nick Foles of all people is the shredder!!! I can only hope he can do it in 2 weeks. He has a lot of poise tonight but we'll see when the pressure is on!
  20. I think the clock struck twelve for Case Keenum. He looks like a career backup today. Making bad decisions and turning it over. Sad end for the fairy tale!
  21. I think one of these was on the drive right after the Pats TD that made it 20-17 3rd down. The Pats DB was early and seemed to impede the Jags player. No call and no replay despite how huge the incompletion was. The Pats got away with a bunch of key holds on some big plays that were instrumental in their plays working. The refs just don't believe that the Pats O line even come close to holding apparently even when its obvious. The only PI call I object to was the one at the end of the half. All these people saying it was obvious PI must be kidding. Both players were battling, the Pats receiver even has some of Bouye's jersey for a second, then he veers out of bounds and appears to end the play by batting Bouyes in the head with his forearm. Bouyes turned and faced the ball. I think it was textbook great coverage and a perfect place for a non call. The official who called it was on the wrong side and made the wrong call. What was so weird to me on that play was the official who threw the flag's "excitement" at throwing the flag, He acted like "heres my big moment!!!" then he proceeds to visibly demonstrate what the call is and who its against before the ref does!! I cannot ever remember seeing that before. It was such a strange moment. Isnt it the ref's discretion on what actual penalties are called and if they stand?? But no this official decided it already!! The bottom line for me is that the refs didn't win this game for NE. They just made it slightly easier when things were looking bad. Yes the superstar Pats won it by themselves aided and abetted by some key bad calls by Hacket and some crucial poor plays by the Jags. That last Jags punt for instance. Of all the times to kick it just 41 yards that was not it. Then a 20 yard return by Amendola. It was just so sickening, so familiar. The Pats get all the breaks, they know how to do it when the pressure's on and the script plays out as usual.
  22. of course its a great throw, of course its a catch, of course its the Pats. So sick of this !!!
  23. I honestly feel like vomiting right now. So undeserved for the Pats
