Starting EJ on Sunday is just plain stupidity. We KNOW what EJ is and what his limitations are. Start Cardale see what he can do for one game. Absolute stupidity even bothering with EJ.

Goodbye Dan Carpenter!
Livinginthepast replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All their STs have been terrible this year. Carpenter chokes regularly and schmidt has been godawful. But not just that, the punt and kickoff coverage is awful game in and game out. Fire the ST Coach along with Rex. -
How Laughable In Hind Sight
Livinginthepast replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, I have never seen a softer D for the Bills in almost 40 years of watching. Just so weak when it counts, so choke when they need a big time stop. So clumsy when they need a finesse play like an INT or a deflected one esp. they are undisciplined as well. They cant stop the run, cant sack the QB when they REALLY need it. They suck and bringing Rob in has made them WORSE!!! -
How are the Chiefs a playoff team?
Livinginthepast replied to somnus00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have a very big horseshoe up their rear ends. We managed to give the game away against them the last 3 meetings. Its too bad that we didn't play them again this year so we could choke away another game! -
Rex Ryan says Buffalo Bills' defense is 'close'
Livinginthepast replied to Go Bills!!!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Close to being the worst defense ever? Close to being a steaming pile of dung? Close to getting him fired? Close to bottom of the league? Huh? I am starting to feel indifference for Rex, we are so far into the embarrassing stage now I stopped caring. Of course a good organization would have fired him already for all the really bad in game decisions he has made, his lack of adjustments and woeful preparation but in Buffalo the coaches job is like a government contract, the excuses are built in and there is no accountability when you cant accomplish what you were hired to do!! -
Any Birthday Wishes for Rex or Rob?
Livinginthepast replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dont wish him any ill will, didnt want him fired until I saw how the team quit on him Sunday. Now it would be best if he was fired. He has lost the team completely. -
We are at (yet another) crossroads - Where to now?
Livinginthepast replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly you are correct but you missed one key part of the replacement scenario. That is that in almost all of the cases they have replaced the people in question (players, coaches, management) with people who were either mediocre or WORSE. I seriously cannot think of anyone who we really upgraded on in the past 17 years. Maybe Lesean? All the players QBs, RBS and WRs, DLs, DBs etc all pale in comparison to the SB teams. The coaches have been garbage compared to even Wade let alone Marv. The GMS have been inept at every turn. Donahoe was an absolute disaster here. The problem isn't just turnover. The problem is turnover in favor of people who are worse than who they are replacing!! -
Jeff Fisher fired, should have been Rob Ryan!
Livinginthepast replied to CommonCents's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex, Brandon and whaley whould have been turfed yesterday. Fisher should have been fired before the move to LA but didnt they just extend him? Who does that exactly?? -
When they let the Raiders come right down the field and score to make it 24-16 I knew we would lose. You cannot allow a team back in the game like that when you should be stepping on their throat. The D has done that in 3 key losses this year. Jets, Miami and now the Raiders. Thats on Rex and his bro and their schemes, thats on their lack of adjustments. Just not good enough when you have a hot and cold offensive unit like we do that cannot finish the job!

Romo is possibly the most overrated QB in the last 10 years. He cant get it done in the playoffs was a statue even in his younger days but now will be way worse. Absolute lunacy to go after him and why would he come here anyway? Some big market team will throw stupid money after him if he leaves Dallas. I wish we could have gone after Drew Brees when he was in the same boat in 2006. BUT NOOO they had a proven stud with JP Losman, what could go wrong!!

Bozo & Friends(Defensive Coach Clowns)
Livinginthepast replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills DBs are small but so are most Dbs in the NFL why are there no tall dbs to match up against the large targets? Richard Sherman is 6ft 3 and he seems to be quite good. so what is the rationale for having small guys defending the pass? -
Why do winners win and losers lose?
Livinginthepast replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A good team overcomes the terrible officiating and does what it takes under pressure. We used to do that with Kelly and co so well in the 90s. For 16 years though we dont have the people to get it done under pressure. The refs are way worse than 20 years ago and make several impactfully bad calls a game. You need a team with poise, swagger and balls to compensate. We dont have that, at least yet! -
Its one thing to criticize TT but try to argue EJ is better? I thought the OP was joking. EJ has never even been close to what was his best since the injury at Cleveland. His replacement stint last year was an embarrassment. I am surprised that he is still on this team.

Pats game day experience....terrible
Livinginthepast replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I used to go to Bills games about 2-3 X a season with my friend who is a season ticket holder. I loved tailgating in my 20s in that grassy field lot near the stadium. That all changed in the early 2000s when I went to a game. Made the mistake of going to the restrooms at half time and the lineup was predictably gigantic. The only lineup that was shorter than about 8 people was a stall. I waited till I thought I was going to burst and went into the stall just as another guy was trying to go in. I wasn't sure who was next in line so I said to the guy, you want to go in first and he looked at me blankly, so I went in and did a quick piss and left. When I got out my friend who was also waiting to go behind me said that the guy who I had asked who was next wanted to fight me because I budded in line. I was so creeped out that I could have been jumped by some drunken mental defective that I decided not too long after to not attend another game. Its just not worth it to experience that kind of disgusting behaviour and potentially be the victim of some life altering assault. What happened to the OP is completely unacceptable but sadly pretty common with some of the lowlifes you encounter if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time! -
Should Landry Get Suspended? Update: Fined 24k
Livinginthepast replied to fridge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely a dirty hit, definitely an illegal hit. It was also an unnecessary hit. He doesn't need to hit him to make the play work. Just get in his way. Instead he goes after his head on a blind side. Was there a prev play that got Landry mad at Williams? He deserves a suspension fro going after his head and jumping up to do it. -
I agree, Schwartz would have been a good choice for coach when the Pegulas came in. He could have run a great defense and hired a decent OC. Coaching is the key to all of this. Even a mediocre QB can win the SB if he stays in the plan of an offense. I still think TT can succeed in this league but not if he is hamstrung by a crap OC or a scheme that doesn't play to his strengths or the skills of the people around him.

I wish we had hired someone else in the first place. Even last night the offense looked out of sync. Roman didnt seem to adjust his offense around his players strengths and limitations. It was so vanilla anyway. I really wish I had appreciated Marchibroda's offense more all those years ago. The last few O coordinators we have had have been so boring and unimaginative. Roman was just the latest in a long line of dull schemes and poor thinking on your feet!

I dont blame Rex for being indecisive if his spotters up in the booth (assuming he has some) were getting the same replays as we did at home. The replays from CBS? yesterday for the most part were abymsal. Unfortunately so are the ones from Fox. I think Sunday/Monday/Thursday broadcasts are way better than Sundays. Perhaps they have a premium crew. But yesterday and most of the last few years the Bills games are covered by scrub broadcasters and probably below par tv crews. I watch a lot of the CFL up here in Canada and TSN's coverage of the league is way better coverage/commentary wise than any of the Bills games I have seen, going back years now. Anyway if Rex doesn't have a spotter advising him on challenges up in the booth (which I suppose is possible after last season's fiasco). He must be a complete idiot. You cannot possible see from a HC's vantage what you need to see to determine challenges.

Sad to see Mario go. But sadder that it really didnt pan out the way the Bills thought or we wanted it to. In the end We are in an era where 95% of the players in this league are expendable when they get older and the contracts get too big. I really thought that Mario would be a dominant factor in the time he was here on D. He ended up being good for 2/4 years but never a devastating presence on the D.
