  1. He's notorious for getting BS calls ever since the ref incident a few years back. It was hard to see what was happening in the scrum, but it didn't look like Hughes was in the middle of it. More like he stepped in for a second and the ref threw the flag on him, despite whatever everyone else was doing.
  2. They always say stuff like "I'll be leading the bandwagon if he proves he's a franchise QB". But they won't. He could win 2 Super Bowls, and they'll be waiting for the moment he looks washed up to attack him. It's not about Josh, the problem is with themselves.
  3. Don't think so. We overachieved, if anything. The Browns were a paper tiger.
  4. Would they have taken that TD away from the Pats? Who were those "referee assistants" that calmly came over and instantly changed the head referee's mind? Why did the line judge ask the ref if his mic was off during the meeting? I'm willing to bet the convo went something like this: "New York says they want this game to remain close. It's an iffy call and nobody will complain if you turn it around." If you think I'm wearing a tin foil hat, I have a bridge to sell you.
  5. I couldn't agree more, don't go to the airport. We gave them love after the Cowboys game, which was deserving, and I even liked that we showed up after the Ravens game to show that we still support them. But after that showing? I'd like them to feel the heartbreak of landing with no fans waiting. Let that stay with them during the off season.
  6. If you think I'm a non-stop complainer, then you are projecting other posters onto me. I'm as balanced as they come, but I do recognize weaknesses where they exist. I like McDermott and I really like Beane. But I don't root for the Bills so we lose in the Wild Card every year. I'm in it for the rings. And I don't see a SB trajectory right now. We COULD have a SB trajectory, but things need to change. And telling fans to shut up and enjoy the porridge we give you is not why I watch the games. You remind me of when we had to sit there and take Ralph's horrific cheapness because it was better than losing the team. It's alright to expect more.
  7. Underused all year. Tonight included.
  8. There's truth in what you say, but not completely. The things that cost us the game were visible to those who have an eye for it, back at the beginning of the year. There were no fixes made. Several people predicted the lack of killer instinct would come back to bite them in the playoffs, and it did. Progression is not always linear in the NFL. Only a few teams can truly win the SB each year, and they have a certain mentality about them. I'm not sure a coaching philosophy like McDermott's ever won a SB. I can only think of the Devils in the NHL, and that was during the dead-puck era.
  9. That's why I'm still so bummed. The stubbornness of the coaching staff. How can I look forward to next year if they will continue with this kind of conservative everything?
  10. That's a reason we're always going to be 10-6 or 11-5 and lose quickly in the playoffs. McDermott creates a reality where there are only 2 options 1. Give it to Singletary who has x% of fumbling but who can make plays 2. Give it to Gore who has a higher probability of killing a drive but less chance of fumbling. Where are the 3rd or 4th options? Will they exist next year?
  11. This is what makes it extra tough. The scared playcalling was obvious since the beginning of the season. And very little changed. We blew it today. I hate that we have to live with this for a full year before we get a chance to redeem ourselves. Life's too short to always wait until next year, and NFL windows are definitely too short. My optimism is directly related not just to whatever improvements come on offense next year, but if the coaching staff has the obvious epiphany. Because if we keep this up for the rest of McDermott's tenure, it doesn't matter what players we have on offense, we're going to be a perennial 1 or 2 and out playoff team.
  12. Good for him. Everyone quit on him at one point.
  13. Are you saying that I should keep my subjective opinion to myself because "who cares"? Whatever man, I don't think you even know the purpose of what you're saying.
  14. What are you arguing? I said that I thought his ceiling was higher than Watson's. That is my subjective opinion that started this debate.
  15. If you're looking for an objective answer to a subjective concept, that's what I call a dead end.
  16. As he always does. Some fans here don't deserve it. They deserve Tyrod Taylor's heart. Or lack of.
  17. Couldn't disagree more. Brady was an outlier, and with some shady stuff around it too I might add.
  18. Then we're thinking of different plays.
  19. You're right. But we also choked this game away. It's hard to look at the positives. We can go 13-3 next year, but we still need to shed the label of choker in the playoffs.
  20. It was an intense pressure moment. Very few people on earth are good in those situations, much less who play QB. And Allen did lead us into FG range on that drive to tie. Not sure why you're hung up on this.
  21. We had him on the ropes. I always liked Watson, and he definitely has intangibles, but I still like Allen's ceiling more. Watson has incredible weapons to throw to. We should've won.
  22. Let's wait on the vid then. We have different memories of it.
  23. Learning through pain is a choice. You can learn equally through winning. Where was Brady's learning through pain? Roethlisberger's? We choked today. Coaches choked. A select few players choked.
