Bills fan claims huge memory loss after stadium incident.
ToGoGo replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Knee-jerk reactions. Jealousy. Crabs-in-a-bucket. Absolute lack of class. Welcome to the underworld of the city of good neighbors. -
Browns hire Kevin Stefanski as HC; Andrew Berry as GM

It's weird how the middle class/working class has been brainwashed to instantly attack any person who files a lawsuit. Bad things DO happen to people. Not everyone is just out for a quick buck. Sometimes they do deserve it. Same attitude towards the "Dallas is going down" guy. -
You're not 100% wrong. Lamar and Baker were the ultimate instant gratification. "I want to be a millionaire and drive a red Ferrari when I'm 18" type of QB. Josh Allen is the ultimate delayed gratification. "I'm going to build my fundamentals to the fullest and do it right, and have no debt and millions of dollars in the bank when I'm 35" type of QB. Hope that made sense. We're doing it right. The Mahomes and Lamar's have not yet shown they can handle adversity. They're the equivalent of trust fund babies who get treated like everyone else had the same opportunities. Allen is the ignored blue-collar guy who is overcoming the odds. The city should have had his back from the beginning. I remember one poster told me after my Lamar thread that if I figured out Lamar and nobody else has, then I should be a DC. Well, I guess he was right
-
I've seen that with him earlier in the season. I'm talking before the Bills game even. He has not been tested anywhere near as much as Allen, and when he has been tested, has not handled it well. It's a trend. When you give a guy that kind of love before he has gone through the ringer, there could be a very powerful "snap back". That's why Allen is so impressive.

I was hoping for something worse but I'll take it!

I got beat up for this bad after starting the Lamar thread after the Bills game. Glad to see cooler heads prevail. The national media love was too intense, and millions of fans went along for the ride.

This. It's a natural correction. I feel like many of the Bills fans that are ardently supporting Lamar, were anti-Allen during the pre-draft process or Wrong Josh. Lamar was just an opportunity to move the goalposts. That's why they have such a weird man crush on him, considering he plays for the Ravens.

Is Josh really getting the coaching he needs?

He never will be? I don't know what people base their opinions on anymore. People just speak without thinking. -
Is Tre White worth top corner money?

Someone on TV mentioned that the Bills run a zone a few weeks ago and suddenly everyone starts questioning Tre. -

"Not much to think through" so something you probably say a lot. -

You're talking to me about "half right" and "intent" in terms of the NFL rule book? If the rule book states that it's a TD, then it's a TD. It's very simple what happened. Everyone turned an objective rule into a subjective rule when it suited them. DeSean's intent was to down the ball once he crossed the goal line, but he didn't. Ford's intent was to block the tackler legally, but he didn't, sort of. Where was everyone's good heart then? No, it was "tough luck, son, got to be smarter out there". But when a wild card game was going to turn into a blow out in favor of a small market team? Now the league that rejects every pass interference review suddenly becomes a "common sense" league. And Bills fans defend this. I question how deep you've really thought this through. -

Let's hear the reasons. -
Should season ticket holders protest?
ToGoGo replied to Rocbillsfan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the thing. People threw out "common sense" as if that is always the case. Nobody threw out common sense when Desean Jackson spiked the ball before going over the goal line, or the Plaxico incident. These sorts of "strange" incidents always happen in sports and the usual response is "tough luck, you should've known the rules". This is the first time I've ever even heard of "referee assistants", and normally plays need to be eligible for review before they can be overturned by NY. None of that happened. It's very fishy, and knowing how the NFL likes to keep games close for ratings, it stunk of manipulating the outcome. By this rate, can't you say that the Ford block shouldn't have been called since it was "common sense". It's subjective. I just don't buy it. -

The simple answer is YES. We can do something. The people have all the power, and they know it. The problem is that the people don't believe they have any power. You're going to get people mocking you for suggesting something like this, but remember that you're not the problem here, they are. If you're looking for ways to do something, and you're committed, the simplest way to make a difference is to go on Twitter or Facebook of any brands that advertised during the game, and complain that you are never going to buy their products again for supporting such a rigged product. Get 25-30 people to post the right words in the right place, and I guarantee you it will reach very high levels in the company and will be discussed when they are renegotiating next season. Do this to enough brands, and the NFL marketing team will start taking notice and alerting superiors. It will be brought up to the highest levels for discussion. At that point, nothing might happen, but you will have made a dent. It's not impossible if you're committed. If you get traction, I'll get on board with you. -
I agree with other posters that he is in the best position he could be in. He's not a rah-rah type of guy. I get the vibe that he doesn't want too much of the spotlight and he's happy where he is, which is great for us. Let teams be dumb and pick Daboll as their head coach. It would be a blessing to lose him this year.
-
He's notorious for getting BS calls ever since the ref incident a few years back. It was hard to see what was happening in the scrum, but it didn't look like Hughes was in the middle of it. More like he stepped in for a second and the ref threw the flag on him, despite whatever everyone else was doing.

2019 Buffalo Bills: Were they Paper Tigers?
ToGoGo replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't think so. We overachieved, if anything. The Browns were a paper tiger. -
Would they have taken that TD away from the Pats? Who were those "referee assistants" that calmly came over and instantly changed the head referee's mind? Why did the line judge ask the ref if his mic was off during the meeting? I'm willing to bet the convo went something like this: "New York says they want this game to remain close. It's an iffy call and nobody will complain if you turn it around." If you think I'm wearing a tin foil hat, I have a bridge to sell you.
-
I couldn't agree more, don't go to the airport. We gave them love after the Cowboys game, which was deserving, and I even liked that we showed up after the Ravens game to show that we still support them. But after that showing? I'd like them to feel the heartbreak of landing with no fans waiting. Let that stay with them during the off season.
-
If you think I'm a non-stop complainer, then you are projecting other posters onto me. I'm as balanced as they come, but I do recognize weaknesses where they exist. I like McDermott and I really like Beane. But I don't root for the Bills so we lose in the Wild Card every year. I'm in it for the rings. And I don't see a SB trajectory right now. We COULD have a SB trajectory, but things need to change. And telling fans to shut up and enjoy the porridge we give you is not why I watch the games. You remind me of when we had to sit there and take Ralph's horrific cheapness because it was better than losing the team. It's alright to expect more.

Devin Singletary/ Best Bills player on the field today
ToGoGo replied to Figster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Underused all year. Tonight included. -
There's truth in what you say, but not completely. The things that cost us the game were visible to those who have an eye for it, back at the beginning of the year. There were no fixes made. Several people predicted the lack of killer instinct would come back to bite them in the playoffs, and it did. Progression is not always linear in the NFL. Only a few teams can truly win the SB each year, and they have a certain mentality about them. I'm not sure a coaching philosophy like McDermott's ever won a SB. I can only think of the Devils in the NHL, and that was during the dead-puck era.
