I'd hope that is where Beane and McD put their collective foot down.

Meh, what is she really going to be doing? The football ops people run the football part of things; that's the most important part. Kim will make decisions such as giving out Bills logo whoopee cushions for opening day, etc. My guess is there is little Russ did that Kim couldn't do.

Apologies to Doug Marrone as we learn more about the environment
Happy replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone sucks. Jags wouldn't be where they are now without Coughlin in the FO. -
So why was Leonard Johnson not resigned?
Happy replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was effective at tackling the receiver he failed to cover. Good tackler, bad at covering. -
Given what he did in Oakland, stepping up to the #2 role is not an unreasonable expectation. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HolmAn00.htm

Happy 20th Birthday Tremaine Edmunds
Happy replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Happy Birthday, Tremaine. Now go knock out a certain QB in the division that is twice your age. -
This is a great point. Another poster pointed out that Zay started earlier than intended due to how thin the Bills were at the WR position.
-
I thought Zay had shoulder surgery this off-season, which probably impacted his performance this past season.

RD 4, Pick 121: Taron Johnson DB - Weber State
Happy replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Availability was a big problem with EJ Gaines, so that was probably the factor for not re-signing him.. When he played, he was good. But durability matters; if he's not available, doesn't matter how good the player is. -
Any chance we get to play the 2018 season and see how things shake out before talking about the 2019 draft? I'd like to see how our new toys work before asking for more new toys.

Start Allen from Day 1/ QB competition
Happy replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My thought is as long as AJ doesn't stink up the joint, he'll start. It would benefit Josh Allen to sit and learn for a while; trial by fire is a tough way to learn and could end up hurting him in the long run. I also think that as long as McDermott is HC, the run game will be prevalent. I don't see Allen (or AJ) passing as much as say Brady or Peyton Manning. -
Well, the Pegulas fired Rex and brought in McDermott, who essentially fired Whaley because McDermott wanted his GM - Beane. I like what is going on so far, and Beane appears to have done a great job being the point man in his first draft as GM. We might be better this season than most expect. I don't want to get ahead of things, but the potential is there.

RD 5, Pick 166: Wyatt Teller G - Viginia Tech
Happy replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hope so, if the G position opposite Teller. Ducasse is depth only. -
RD 5, Pick 154: Siran Neal S - Jacksonville state

Yeah, they'll have cans of spinach on the sideline for this guy, not Gatorade. -
Hmmm, interesting. Looks like Gettleman does have a plan to address Eli's successor. With all rookie QBs, time will tell.

Thursday night, Mayock I believe, compared Josh Allen to Carson Wentz coming out of the draft. Big stature, mobile and athletic, big arm, but lacking consistency in passing. Wentz seemed to get his short comings fixed, so I suspect Allen can do the same.
-
They passed on Darnold, Allen, and Rosen. I'm thinking all are better than Webb (granted I have not seen Webb play) since a first round QB > 3rd round QB. And two years should be enough to develop a QB. Maybe things are going well with Webb, IDK, but I still think the Giants will regret this in about three years.

Does Doug Whaley Get Hired This Season?
Happy replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Whaley gets another shot, this time in a real GM capacity. Not the limited crap he got in Buffalo, while dealing with morons like Marone and Rex as well as a clueless first year owner trying to get a handle on things. -
I thought that if the Giants take a RB with the second pick, I'd consider firing Gettleman if I was the Mara's. I believe his days as GM are numbered; when they have no plan to succeed Eli and Barkley isn't making as much of a difference as they hoped he would, Gettleman should start to sweat.

Happy 45th Birthday to joesixpack

Age is just a number. Don't sweat it.
