  1. I think the Redskins got an older Kirk Cousins. If that is what they wanted, they got it.
  2. One of the first (maybe the first, I can't remember) to take the snap directly from the center and go through the 'A' gap. No opposing defense was able to stop him from ripping off a big chunk of yardage.
  3. We beat the Giants in December, 1990 at the Meadowlands. Hard fought game from what I remember, but we were definitely the better team. You're right, still hard to digest the SB 25 loss, but the Giants were better than us that day.
  4. I was going to point this out; Whaley was not a favorite with former players. I'd be interested to hear what former players from other teams have to say about their GM.
  5. Jay Cutler hung it up last season with the Dolphins. Coming here is not going to breathe new life into him.
  6. Caps came out flat tonight, like they thought they could skate past TB without much of an effort. But it is also unrealistic to think a 4-0 sweep against a good TB team was going to happen. On to Thursday night and hope for a better showing from the Caps.
  7. I'm not sure how much success Dennison really had. I think Rico has typically been behind the scenes, so to speak, with Kubiak taking the offense play calling duties. The 2015 Broncos had Kubiak as HC and Dennison as OC, and their offense was terrible. The defense was incredible and won the season and SB. I believe that Dennison's offense hamstrung Peyton Manning and IMO, was ultimately the reason why Peyton retired.
  8. Yeah, McD is a low keyed coach and he typically isn't blatantly critical of his coaching staff, or former staff in this case. It's just how I read it from what I think I know of McD. Either way, he fired Dennison which is really all we need to know. I'm hoping the Brian Daboll hire makes all the difference that a lower powered offense (so it seems at this point) needs. Hopefully it can do enough to keep the defense off the field enough and not put the team in a hole that they won't be able to dig themselves out of, until reinforcements arrive next year.
  9. "a little bit more multidimensional as opposed to what we saw last year." I thought so since it seemed that McD was being fairly critical of last year's offense. He usually isn't that direct.
  10. Wow, he just slammed Rico, who deserves it running an antiquated offense without any type of attempt at modernization or catering to players strengths or abilities.
  11. Personally, no. But apparently there are some on this board who miss him.
  12. This^. Coaching matters, we should know that by now.
  13. I suspect their record will hinge on how good (or bad) AJ McCarron is. If he can't beat out Josh Allen, then either AJ is terrible or Josh Allen is that good. In this case, I would lean toward the former. I personally hope we don't see Josh Allen start this year since that would mean AJ is not terrible and I think it would be best for Josh Allen's development to sit for a year, at least. Concur that 2019 should be a much better Bills team assuming they go heavy on offense.
  14. If they said "the Bills will be mediocre, maybe 7-9 or 8-8 but certainly will not compete for the division" that would be believable. A 2-13-1 record...come on, at least be somewhat realistic. It's still too early for a prediction, but if I had to bet against the ESPN predicted record...easy money.
  15. I understand McD is a devout Christian, and he has that freedom in this country. But to think he imposes those views on his staff or players is plain silly. I believe his motto applies to football culture, and that is it. But feel free to interpret it how you wish.
  16. I would guess faith refers to faith in team, coaches, and system (trust the process). Doubt McD and Beane draft only Christians. They just don't want locker room cancers; I think they're right in this position.
  17. Forecasting that the Bills will completely suck is a popular position to take for the media, kind of like forecasting that NE will be great...all the cool kids are doing it. Meh, so what, let them be proven wrong.
  18. Nope. But it’s Northern NJ, the armpit of the country.
  19. The Dolphins have a lot of confidence in Tannehill, which explains why they skipped taking a QB in this past draft. We'll see how this works out for them, but I suspect a lot of quick 3 and outs resulting in a tired Dolphins D.
  20. I personally have not been to Lambeau field, but a co-worker (Redskins fan) of mine was there several years ago to watch the Redskins vs Packers. He said it was a good experience, the Packers fans were friendly and gracious hosts, where they were happy to talk football as well as other topics of life in general. He especially enjoyed the historic perspective of being at the stadium. I think most fans around the league are ok, but there are a few obnoxious morons who give their teams a bad rap. I personally have been to several Ravens games, including the opening game vs the Bills two years ago; I've never had a problem there. Just don't be a jerk at another stadium and you should be fine.
  21. Too early to predict. If AJ is the starter and looks at least decent, I'm optimistic. If Josh Allen beats out AJ, we could struggle on offense this season. The other factor is how do our opponents look, especially the division rivals? Too many variables at this point.
  22. Or a super dork...having a hard time deciding
  23. Yeah, hopefully the Pegulas realize their limitations. From what I can gather, they are casual fans who are learning on the job. I would suspect that being present in the draft room, and various other football situations made them realize that they don't know what they don't know. If so, this could be a good thing.
  24. Yes, part owner. But good owners don't meddle in football ops. They leave that up to the football people.
