  1. 2-1 Caps on the power play. They did a good job of defending a VGK power play a few minutes earlier.
  2. Vegas deserves to lose just for this alone.
  3. Yeah, let the VGK come after Tom Wilson; will be a bad move on their part.
  4. Can't fill all needs in one offseason. Defense is obviously a priority for McDermott as well as the offensive line, which were addressed in the draft. I suspect McD and staff will see what they have in the offensive skill positions this season and fill those holes next offseason. I'm thinking the Oline may not be as bad as some think, especially if they go back to a power blocking scheme which should cater more toward a running offense. Quality depth should happen once starting schemes and players are solidified, and is the downside of changing the coaching staff and philosophies as much as the Bills have these past many years.
  5. Give me a break, Carlson got sandbagged by the officials. The call shouldn't have been missed. It's like a non-catch that was called a catch for a TD in a SB, can't miss those calls. Pick plays run by the Caps? Interesting, wasn't mentioned in the post game analysis. You know what was mentioned? The cheap goal, which shouldn't have been a goal. But that's ok, Vegas will pay for it Wednesday night. Tom Wilson is awesome, like a modern day goon. He does have to be careful since he has a reputation and the refs will watch him closely.
  6. VGK gets game 1 thanks to this missed call.
  7. I'm on the fence if that was luck or skill. Improbable goal, but i'll take it. Nice...two in a row! Great puck handling by Backstrom
  8. Nope, all hat no cattle.
  9. oh, it is. Vegas did this same thing at the home opener of the Winnipeg Jets series.
  10. This pre-game acting/show is dumb. Just saying.
  11. I've made a lot of purchases with HD over the last several years with home improvements and remodels, buying everything from tile to bath supplies to cabinets and more. Personally, I don't have a problem with HD and found them to be reasonable with prices as well as returns and exchanges, and have never felt screwed by them. Customer service is kind of subjective as it depends on the employee. Some care more about the customer than others, just like some experts are more knowledgeable on their area of expertise than others. I've never had a problem that I can think of which would bother me to this day.
  12. Not a jerk move at all. The kid lied, came up with an excuse he couldn't possibly get away with, and paid the price. Seems fair to me.
  13. You can make your own; just buy some reasonably fresh chocolate chip cookies and add a couple of scoops from a bucket of your favorite vanilla ice cream. Tastes better than the packaged stuff you get from the store.
  14. The Denver game week 3. They were flying high and the media was raving about Denver and Trevor Siemian...then we knocked them off convincingly.
  15. I'd expect the Bills to win the games they should win. Anything other than that would be icing on the cake since Allen will make mistakes and experience growing pains. So if Allen starts, at this early juncture, a 6-10 or 7-9 record would be fine. A record of .500 or better would be an outperformance.
  16. Well, there kind of was, though it is a grey area and there were no fines associated. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/09/25/does-nfl-require-players-stand-national-anthem from September, 2017 "The NFL rulebook makes no mention of the national anthem. But the game operations manual does. Here’s what the game operations manual says regarding the national anthem, according to an NFL spokesperson:" "It’s important to note the use of the word “may” here. The NFL is not considering punishing fines on players or teams who choose to kneel or stay in the locker room during the national anthem, the spokesperson says."
  17. Perhaps the protests were dying toward the end of the season, but it would not take much to revive them - statement by a political figure, social justice warrior, etc. IMO, the league did the right thing (finally) by enacting fines for not standing during the NA. The NFL could have nipped this in the bud last September by not being so passive when the kneeling started.
  18. Doesn't look like it. In 2016 he was with Philly, and there are no stats on him for 2017.
  19. Everyone gets burned out at one time or another from doing the same thing and seeing the same people day after day for extended periods. Vacations and time away from work are good, and sabbaticals are even better if you can swing it.
  20. Cool rant. Don't go throwing dumbells at people and yelling about the government, the NFL, etc coming to get you.
  21. I'm fully committed to John Miller regaining the starting RT this year. Vlad is depth, IMO.
  22. Maybe I wasn't clear in context. Standing for the NA should be mandatory; there will be those players who don't like it and view it as them being forced to do something they don't like. The rules and respect for game and country shouldn't be modified for a few. Players who feel strongly about it should protest on their own time. I do not view protesting (and protesters) in the proper time and place as snowflakes; many good things and freedoms have come from protesting wrongs.
  23. Don't know the breakdown of people of color vs whites who feel this way. Not all white people think the players should stand, like not all people of color think they should kneel; I'm not being naive here. The players should just refrain from kneeling - the whole situation would soon be forgotten. They don't have to like the NA, or even pay attention. We all have to do things we don't like
  24. I believe the majority of fans do feel this way, not all, but most. I have no problem with players helping others who have less than they do, but that is not what is being debated.
  25. Loss of good-will, lower attendance, unwanted attention. They may have made more from TV contracts, won't argue that.
