Tremaine Edmunds vs Gronk
Happy replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tre probably got tired of Gronk pushing off, like he does every play he's involved in. -
No 'I' for incomplete?

Marvin Lewis is 0-7 in the playoffs and typically has a talented roster on both sides of the ball. He should be a lot better than .527, which means he doesn't get the most out of his team. Plus the Bengals seem to get penalized a lot and end up shooting themselves in the foot. I still think #17 is too high given this.

Doug Whaley Has Landed a New Job
Happy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have a good point about Harvin as I forgot about the first contract. I remember them convincing Percy to come out of retirement. Either way, he was a disappointment...those happen. Clay is debatable depending on who you ask. The other variable in the coaching selection is Russ Brandon. Supposedly he and Nix overruled Whaley on the Marrone hire. I'm sure Russ had the Pegula's ear just as much, if not more than Whaley. None of us were there, so we don't know how hard tried (or did not) to convince Terry and Kim to pass on Rex. Water under the bridge at this point and it seems that the Pegulas got it right the second time around. -
Jon Gruden is ranked in the middle of the pack based off his 2002 SB winning season. I'd move him down below his brother Jay, who IMO, is keeping the Redskins somewhat respectable. I also don't think Marvin Lewis should be ranked as high as he is. This is a coach who perennially underachieves and cannot win a playoff game.

He never got to choose HIS head coach. Neither Marrone or Rex were his first choices. Coaching matters; Rex should have taught everyone that if they didn't already know. Clay's contract was front loaded so the Dolphins couldn't match it. He's still on the team and while not the best TE in the league, is far from the worst. Clay is not a premiere TE, but he is certainly good enough that you had to overspend on him a bit. Percy Harvin signed a 1 year, $1.5M contract; very much a prove it deal at a time when the Bills badly needed WRs; Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods were injured, along with most of the corps. Not too bad for a receiver that had explosive potential. It didn't work out, ultimately, but little was lost. -

Some people get it. Whaley never got a completely fair shot at being a GM. Terry should have been the person at the press conference explaining the Rex firing, not Whaley. Whaley was Rex's peer, Pegula was Rex's boss; big difference. I do have to say that Whaley's drafting was pretty average, and unfortunately he'll always have the Sammy deal and lack of viable QB anvil around his neck; these probably did him in. Where Whaley excelled was FA acquisitions where he found several diamonds in the rough. -
Hot for Teacher/Hot for Teacher's BFF

Maybe Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" wasn't such a great idea in retrospect. Great song, though. -
What is the general consensus on Michelle Beadle?

Meh, she's no Suzy Kolber. ? -
Tremaine Edmunds vs Gronk
Happy replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. Gronk didn't like it at all, as demonstrated by the WWE post play move on Tre. -
Unfortunately, the Patriots. Bills and Jets have too many new pieces they need to integrate. The Dolphins are incompetent.

Exactly. I like fall and winter; my favorite seasons. Spring sucks with all the pollen; my least favorite season.

If it were 15 degrees cooler, less humidity, and fewer bugs, I'd be ok with summer. But where I am, it is almost insufferable.

6-15: Brandon Beane on One Bills Live
Happy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. Zay will most likely make the team, just a matter of him being WR2, 3, or 4. -
LOL. I see the Beverly Hills Cop reference...

Maybe she was looking for her beer bong? Only thing I can think of...pretty stupid, otherwise. Good thing the owner didn't start up the truck, which her head would be like a big banana in the tailpipe.

Probably just read which players get arrested for domestic violence, fights at night clubs, possession of illegal drugs, etc. Will also enjoy all the Peterman vs Allen vs McCarron threads, and maybe a few Packers vs Bills series threads that will pop up from time to time. Other than that, mountain bike and golf.

Offensive Line - Any Chance it Holds Up?
Happy replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm wondering the same thing, and am skeptical, like you guys. I think Eric Wood or Richie Incognito made a statement a little while back about Juan Castillo. The veteran lineman said (paraphrasing) that Castillo is very good, but he wants things and techniques done his way. I interpreted that as he is good with younger linemen, but veteran linemen tend not to do as well with him. I would also have to believe that as an OLine coordinator, Castillo is blocking scheme agnostic, and that the zone scheme was all Dennison (which was run in Denver for years.) -
LeSean McCoy seems to buy into Daboll's offensive scheme

If Rex Ryan looks on disapprovingly, then you know you're doing the right thing. -
Offensive Line - Any Chance it Holds Up?

Agree, just a matter of who plays in which position. Probably will be some growing pains the first six weeks or so. Nah, he's coaching. ?
