  1. Smith is now 3rd in QB compensation after Stafford and Luck. I don't think Cousins will go to the highest bidder. He'll go where he thinks he can win and get a long term deal.
  2. Alex Smith is a kitty in the Red Zone and has gone whole seasons without throwing a TD to a WR
  3. we're a playoff team with a brilliant young coach
  4. I can't see us breaking the bank but we are a better destination than all but Minny or Jax
  5. our DBs had a good year
  6. "If you're going to trade my ass, send me to a winner!"
  7. The QB question for me is "What's the best we can do with the options in front of us that won't hurt the team long term". We know that the best veteran franchise QBs aren't available to us. We know that this regime doesn't like paying guys more than they're worth just to keep them in Buffalo . We know this regime is building culture and doesn't like questionable attitudes or lax commitments. We know that this regime is stockpiling draft picks and is not afraid to trade pricey veterans to do so. I don't see us splurging for a veteran QB and certainly not one that would cost us draft picks. I don't see us mortgaging the farm to get into the top 5. We are an old team with many holes that need filling immediately. I see us staying put for one of Mason Rudolph, Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen and signing a stable if unspectacular veteran QB (Alex Smith, Case Keenum, Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Bryan (please God, no) Hoyer, AJ McCarron). I'd like to see us make a play for Davis Webb on NYG.
  8. I like the 2 DLs in the first round. Politically, this regime will have to make a splash at QB when in the draft or in the veteran market
  9. I would not be upset if we keep TT although it's not what I expect. I don't want any of the Vikings QBs. Case Keenum was a nice story but I don't think he's a renaissance man a la Rich Gannon. Between Cousins, Smith and McCarron we will have options on the veteran market. If we stay where we are in the first round we will get a shot at at least one of Jackson, Rudolph or Allen. I'm keeping an eye on what the Giants do with Davis Webb http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/12208/davis-webb
  10. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/01/28/full-buffalo-bills-7-round-nfl-mock-draft-1/ as much as I want a saviour QB we are an old team and need to score on most of our picks. I don't want us mortgaging our future. I like the enclosed draft even if it doesn't include a franchise QB. I think a veteran like Smith or Cousins would be enough of an improvement for a deep playoff run
  11. Thanks to the imbecile Ryan Grigson the Colts have the worst roster in football and a wounded franchise QB. They need to trade down and if the Bills want one of the top QBs we'd best start the conversation.
  12. is he as bad as Osweiler?
  13. One of the best Bills of his era. This really sucks.Wish him and his loved ones well
  14. Yes because every hire from the BB coaching tree has been a roaring success
  15. the Eagles have a chance to win this but it won't be by double digits.
  16. it is hard to believe in a sport as competitive as the NFL with all the parity measures in place that one team can be this dominant this long without some kind of illicit advantage. Sooner or later this will become a credibility problem for the league
  17. so who's the QB coach?
  18. If any combination of Brady, Roethlisberger and Brees retire in the next year or two, Cousins becomes an elite QB by default. He's a far better and younger passer than Alex Smith. Yes, I still want the Bills to draft a young QB for once in their miserable history but Cousins would be the ideal bridge QB to mentor and keep us competitive
  19. the BB coaching tree has dead branches. Don't expect Vrabel to be any different
  20. I keep going back and forth on this. After keeping it close vs. the Jags I can't help but think that a vet like Smith could have brought us deeper into the playoffs. Smith represents an upgrade over TT and is an efficient passer. But it rankles me that those KC teams were very good yet never won anything. Their offense has always been Uber conservative going back to Martyball. I always thought Reid's going there would open things up but it hasn't. Trading a 3rd or better just doesn't sit right with me for Smith regardless of the market. We know what Smith is - a very stable, efficient yet unspectacular caretaker of a QB. Smith is a dink and dunk guy who plays not to lose which frankly I've seen enough of. How many games have Smith's teams won because of Smith's play? I'd rather try our luck on McCarron or if the Giants take a QB high, trade for Davis Webb.
  21. Anyone but NE for me
  22. they should stick with what they're good at - sexual harrassment
  23. his resume isn't impressive enough to gift wrap him the job
  24. as brittle as Bradford
