  1. Hate to see injuries like this. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.
  2. Henry's first game back was the Divisional game against the Bengals. 20 rushes for 62 yards.
  3. He should sue the NFL for ruining his career by setting the 1st down marker at 10 yds past the line of scrimmage. If it would have been 9 yds he could have consitently achieved first downs in three plays with his 3 yard passes...
  4. Obviously I have not observed Hodgins in practice. However, when I watched him play in preseason, he just never seemed anywhere close to being as physical as Davis...
  5. He was just trying to get his legs free. If you watch the rest of the play, he gets up and is clearly pissed that the defender was holding on to him. He and a defensive player start jawing at each other and Spencer Brown steps in and shoves the defensive player back, away from Allen. If Allen came close to any kind of taunting penalty, it would have been when he ran down the field and did a little taunting of Ramsey after the Diggs TD.
  6. I'm sure Matthew Stafford thought he was in the safest place possible last week when was getting hit 22 times in the pocket...
  7. Right. I'd say most of them are his choice. He's ultra competetive and he's also a pretty smart guy. Sometimes he lets his competetiveness get the best of him, but the vast majority of time he's pretty smart about limiting big hits when he runs. He's done pretty well so far without my input, so I think I'll refrain from telling him how he should play football...
  8. I watched the game and I have to agree. His biggest gains of the day were: (1) the 42 yd TD by Waddle. This was a good throw and Tua's strength - a 10 yd pass over the middle and he hit Waddle in stride. Waddle did the rest (aided by bad angles by two NE defenders), (2) a 26 Yd pass to Hill that was floated 20 yds and caught by the defensive back. Hill literally took it away from the DB, (3) a 23 yd pass to Hill. The throw was 19 yds, Hill didn't have a defender within 5 yds of him and the thow felt like it took forever to get there, literally just slightly less time in the air than Allen's 55 yd thow to Diggs (4) an 18 yard pass to Hill where the throw was to the LOS, (5) a 16 yd pass to Mostert that was a throw to the LOS, (6) a 15 yard pass to Edmonds that was thrown 1 yd beyond the LOS. Inside the New England 40, he was 2-4 for 9 yds, two sacks, one fumble, one dropped interception, and no touchdowns. Every attempt over 15 yds seemed to be a struggle.
  9. That's why they play the games, right? I (along with almost everyone else) thought Buffalo and KC were the two best teams heading into the Divisional game, with the winner going on and winning the SB. Buff had its 13 second meltdown and the following week, KC had its 2nd half meltdown... And just like that, the two best teams in football are out of the playoffs. You just never know
  10. If you watch the all 22, it appears that Cook is reading Spencer Brown's block. As he approaches, Earnest Jones gets slightly outside of Brown and Cook takes the inside lane. Gabe Davis is clearly going to seal off Nick Jones to the inside and looks as if he sets up for Cook to go outside of Brown. Nick Cook then comes up and Davis doesn't get in front of him and Nick Jones makes the takle. Earnest Jones then punches the ball out as Cook is prone in the air. I think Cook could have gotten outside outside of Brown. But it sure looks like he is reading Brown's block and takes the inside lane accordingly. Had Davis been able to seal off Nick Jones, Cook would have been in the secondary. I won't be too harsh on Cook for the play.
  11. Thanks. I was actually going to add that caveat with it. DAVE represents the games up to that point along with pre-season predictions up until about weeks 4-6. I’ll post them each week.

  15. Don't totally disagree. But Bates was pretty bad in pass protection, particularly in that 1st half.

  17. I’m not endorsing PFF. I post things I run across from different sites. Some people appreciate the info and some don’t. People are free to read it or not read it.
  18. Fwiw, PFF gave The following pass blocking grades: Dawkins 78.3 Morse. 64.4 Saffold. 62.4 Brown. 59 Bates. 9 And the following run blocking grades: Bates. 70.4 Morse. 65 Dawkins 64 Brown 61.3 Saffold. 53.8
  19. Yeah, I had no idea it was something from the history of the Browns. Makes it even sadder...
