  1. When you love what you do, have a real passion for it, are really good at it, and it has pretty much been your identity for your entire adult life, it is tough to just walk away.
  2. Jackson has played really well this year. It will be interesting to see what happens when Tre comes back. If he is fully healthy, the other starting corner spot is Jackson's to lose, but Elam has been quietly getting better and better. And Benford should return in a few weeks and continue to improve, as well. Regardless of who the other starting corner is, they will all see the field. By mid season, this secondary could be better than ever, even without Hyde.
  3. ESPN putting Miami 1st was a joke... Here are the Team DVOA rankings after Week 4 (Football Outsiders):
  4. I think the best plays have come on zone concepts (particularly outside zone), in which the the line actually is not that bad. When it comes to gap, they are awful, with the exception of Brown.
  5. Interestingly enough, they are 4th in Open Field Yards, defined by FO as: "Yards which this team's running backs earn more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, divided by total running back carries. A team with a high ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a low ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its offensive line to make the running game work. A team with a low ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a high ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its running back breaking long runs to make the running game work. "
  6. Even Diggs had a ball go through his hands at the goal line. I don't think anyone was immune from at least one play where they didn't catch or hold on to the ball
  7. Didn't he injure himself signing the contract?
  8. Jackson's first read was to his left and then he scans right (From All 22): (1) The 1st set of photos is when Jackson first scans to the right and Duvernay isn't open yet (Not shown is Jackson then quickly scans back toward the middle and then back to Duvernay) (2) The 2nd set of photos is when Jackson recognizes Duvernay is open (3) The 3rd set of photos shows Jackson trying to set up at the 15 yard line to throw (the video shows it better), but Lawson is almost on him, so he retreats backward. If he would have been able to throw at this point, it is a TD (4) The 4th set of phots shows Jackson finally making the throw at about the 20. You can see Poyer already heading over at this time. Jackson is never able to get set up because Lawson and Rousseau are chasing him and he can't step into the throw. Because of Lawson and Rousseau, Poyer is able to make a great play
  9. There is nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter. It has absolutely zero relevance to anything current. Who really gives AF what they did or didn't do over the last two years?
  10. And Brandon Stephens' missed pass interference against McKenzie prevented a first down at the 11 yard line and forced Buffalo to settle for a FG. And so it goes, on and on...
  11. It wasn't a hard hit; however, the defensive player pulled up, had his head up, and saw that Allen had already thrown the pass, and then continued on to hit Allen. It was the hesitation and then the contact after the ball had been released. It is going to be called almost every time.
  12. Lamar didn't get a chance to see the receiver earlier. He was running for his life from the pass rush. Had he been able to set up and go through his progressions, it would have been an easy TD. The pass rush gave Poyer the time to get over and make that interception.
  13. Agree. This is not the same defense as last year. And when both are playing well, this team is almost impossible to beat.
  14. The Bills' defense did not get shredded in the first half. Considering the turnovers and other miscues by the offense, and being on the field for 23 out of 30 minutes in that 1st half - I'd say the defense played pretty well. Baltimore had two long drives the entire game andhad to work for every yard. The D played very well yesterday.
  15. There doesn't seem to be much talk about how many times Allen ran the ball yesterday (11 times). Usually there is a pretty vocal group when Allen runs that much in a pretty physical game. Is it because his runs yesterday were so essential to winning the game? Just curious.
  16. I believe the over / under on that would be about 1000... ....from the same handful of posters
  17. What they did with this defense was one my favorite aspects of the off season. They needed to improve against the run and getting consistent pressure with four. When this defense is fully healthy and playing well, and the offense is fully healthy and playing well - they are thebest team in the NFL.
  18. The defense is the best I have seen with this team in a very long time. However, I have to disagree with you, my friend. Allen is the strength of this team. The fortunes of this team go as Allen goes.
  19. I don't think you can over estimate the impact Von Miller has had on the play other Dline players, both on and off the field. I always knew he was a special player; however, I'm not sure I really appreciated just what he brings to a team until watching and listening to him since he arrived here.
  20. Maybe they should bring back Devlin "Duck" Hodges. I heard somewhere he was much better than Josh Allen....
  21. Well, their 1st game was aginst the Bengals, who would probably give up 3-4 sacks against a top high school team in Ohio...
