  1. I don't think most fans are arguing that Davis is an all pro. But Davis is a damn good receiver when he is healthy. To me, that is the real concern - can he stay healthy. If he can, then he can put up big numbers with Diggs opposite him and Allen at QB. Actually, It was two exceptional games out of the last six - and you are right about that.
  2. McKenzie, Kumerow, and Crowder are our "prize toys?" And since when is draft position for a WR commensurate with his ability?
  3. You need to check your math. BTW, those were just throws at 10+ yds. Over his last 6 games (2 of which he was clearly hurting) he has 546 yards and 8 TDs. If you project that over a 17 game season, that would be around 1500 yds and 22 TDs
  4. In the last five games that Davis has played, on throws over 20 yards. He has 6 receptions on 7 targets, for 328 yards and 5 TDs. On throws of 19-20 yards, he has 12 receptions on 16 targets for 262 yards and 3 TDs...
  5. Yep. In the immortal words of @Joe Ferguson "Time to move on with Gabe Davis. If the ball goes to him, you already know it's a wasted play."
  6. I’m pretty sure the run blocking from Guard to Guard can’t be much worse. And it’s not a good sign for the running game when it is legitimate debate about who is worse, the RBs or the line
  7. Beasley gave everything he had every time he stepped on the field. Love what he brought to this team when he came here, and the contributions he made to making this team better. I wish him the very best.
  8. I didn't cally you creepy. I merely pointed out that your argument that you are not creepy because you have a degree in biology is not a valid argument.
  9. Just as an aside, you can be creepy and have a degree biology. They are not mutually exclusive.
  10. I think it was a move Tomlin had to make. That offense was doing nothing with Trubisky. I watched the game and, FWIW, these were my observations. Pickett Pickett threw 13 passes with 3 interceptions. On the first two INTs, they weren't the best throws, but they both hit the receivers in the hands before being tipped by a defender and intercepted by another defender. The third INT was on a hail mary. He completed his other ten passes, some with a nice touch and good placement. He has a pretty quick release, seems to be pretty accurate, has a decent arm, and throws a pretty nice ball. He also seemed tough, fearless and fairly mobile - rushing for 2 TDs. He seemed to handle that offense much better than Trubisky and it wasn't as if it was garbage time - they were in the game until the end - and his teammates seemed to respond to him. The Bills should win this game, but I think the change in QB will be better for the Steelers for the rest of this season.
  11. The Bills blitz less than any team in the NFL - by a wide margin. They certainly are not going to change for Kenny Pickett. They disguise their pre snap coverages, get pressure with 4, and play disciplined in the secondary. I'm sure they will thow in a blitz here and there, but, for the most part, I expect them to play in the same way that has made them the number 1 pass defense in the NFL this year.
  12. His point is what it always is: Some variation of "Beane sucks"
  13. When you love what you do, have a real passion for it, are really good at it, and it has pretty much been your identity for your entire adult life, it is tough to just walk away.
  14. Jackson has played really well this year. It will be interesting to see what happens when Tre comes back. If he is fully healthy, the other starting corner spot is Jackson's to lose, but Elam has been quietly getting better and better. And Benford should return in a few weeks and continue to improve, as well. Regardless of who the other starting corner is, they will all see the field. By mid season, this secondary could be better than ever, even without Hyde.
  15. ESPN putting Miami 1st was a joke... Here are the Team DVOA rankings after Week 4 (Football Outsiders):
  16. I think the best plays have come on zone concepts (particularly outside zone), in which the the line actually is not that bad. When it comes to gap, they are awful, with the exception of Brown.
  17. Interestingly enough, they are 4th in Open Field Yards, defined by FO as: "Yards which this team's running backs earn more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, divided by total running back carries. A team with a high ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a low ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its offensive line to make the running game work. A team with a low ranking in Adjusted Line Yards but a high ranking in Open Field Yards is heavily dependent on its running back breaking long runs to make the running game work. "
  18. Even Diggs had a ball go through his hands at the goal line. I don't think anyone was immune from at least one play where they didn't catch or hold on to the ball
