  1. I think it is highly unlikely a team goes undefeated in today's NFL - but I wouldn't say it would never happen...
  2. FWIW, Here are the coverage grades from PFF for the Rams game Here are the coverage details Here are the tackling details for pass plays
  3. I did at first as well. However, I ran it back several times in slow motion and it was Floyd that punched it out after Scott made the tackle
  4. Not disagreeing with your overall assessment about Cook; however, if you slow down the play during which Cook fumbled, you will see that Leonard Floyd made a pretty good defensive play in punching that ball out. Cook was completely in the air from the tackle by Nick Scott and Floyd punched the ball loose. It isn't as if Cook just put the ball on the ground. It was far less egregious than what McKenzie did on the interception.
  5. Why are people acting like they were calling run plays left and right for Allen when they were up 3 TDs? Allen literally ran one time when they were up by 3 TDs. It wasn't a designed run and it wasn't even an RPO. He rolled out to his left to pass the ball. The linebacker came up and drove Morse back into Allen. Allen saw a wide open lane, took it, and ran for 13 yards, and was tackled from behind as he started to go down to avoid defenders coming at him. He didn't even take a hard hit. He handed the ball off the next two plays and then Moss fumbled. That is it. Not one called run play after going up by 3 TDs.
  6. This seems to be a strange play on which to base your argument about avoiding contact. On the sack by Darnold, he just went by Bates on a straight line to Allen. Allen saw Darnold bearing down on him and had 3 choices (and about .7 seconds to make a choice): (1) Just drop to the ground (which I'm not sure he could have before getting hit), (2) stand there and take the full hit from Darnold, or (3) wrap the ball up with two hands, try to evade a full hit, put his head down, and try to move forward for a few yards. He made the 3rd choice and ended up with a 1 yard sack instead of a 6 yard sack. That left them with a 3rd and 4 instead of a 3rd and 9 at their own 10 yard line. The hit by Darnold ended up being no more violent than any other hits he has taken on sacks - and probably less violent than if Allen didn't try to evade it. I'm all in favor of Allen not taking unnecessary hits and being smart with how and when he runs, but, in that particular situation, I think he did the right thing. Correct
  7. I have been a fan for many, many years and there have been some really good moments. While I feel really good after last night's win, it doesn't really compare at all to each of the AFC Championship wins, particularly the 51-3 dismantling of the Raiders that left me with a feeling of certainty that the Bills would go on to win the Super Bowl. It was a good win last night and I am fine with whatever level of excitement people are feeling. It is a good damn team. Enjoy it.
  8. I think the coaches trust Josh to make the right decisions when he is on the field.
  9. And you are free to feel that way. I'm not belittling your opinion, just disagreeing with it. Cheers
  10. As long as Allen is in the game, he is going to have his full complement of plays to run. And he should.
  11. Yeah...I don't think that is gonna happen. Nor should it...
  12. I could be wrong, but I think a number of those runs were Allen's choice on RPOs.
  13. Under certain situations, I would agree with you. In this instance, by the time Allen released it and the location in which he placed it, would have made it difficult for Crowder to break off his route and come back to Allen. When Allen was releasing that ball, Crowder still had room and had all the reason in the world to continue on his route. IMO, that was on Allen.
  14. Crowder had 2-3 yards on the defender and was wide open. That ball was thrown late by Allen. He wasn't being pressured, he just waited too long and made a bad throw.
  15. A lot to be excited about from the game last night. Personally, my favorite aspects were (1) how the defensive line played against the run and (2) the sustained pressure the Dline applied throughout the game. The best (and most complete) I have seen that Dline play in a long time.
  16. Seriously. Not to mention the fact that, if people care to really examine the play, Leonard Floyd punched that ball out while Cook was in the air from the tackle. It was a good defensive play - Cook didn't just put the ball on the ground. Cook is better at taking the Wonderlic than you are at posting...
  17. Yeah, the Rams were 5th overall in defensive DVOA last year - 6th against the pass and 5th against the run - and they are still a pretty good defense. Many of the yards the Bills got last night were tough. The fact they put up over 400 yards of offense and 31 points, with the four turnovers, is even more impressive.
  18. No, but he did take the ball out of Allen’s hands on 2nd and 3rd downs on two drives in the Divisional game, resulting in two punts. I don’t know about you, but I think, in the most important game of the year, I would rather take my chances with Allen on third down than handing the ball off to Singletary…
  19. He was absolutely a top 10 TE last year in overall value and value per play. I believe he will easily be in the top 5 this year.
  20. FWIW, 2021 Top 15 TE Rankings per Football Outsiders: Knox is 8th DYAR means a tight end with more total value DVOA means a tight end with more value per play Effective Yards (EYds) translate DVOA into a yards per attempt figure
  21. It wouldn't matter if they did. People like Ruiz are incapable of admitting they were just wrong in their analyses of Allen when he was drafted. It is easier for people like him to cling to this idea that they were correct in their anlayses and that Allen somehow succeeded at the NFL level in spite of having no real abilities to do so - other than he can scramble and throw the ball hard. By sticking to some variation of the themes of "Nobody saw this coming" or "He somehow succeeded without the talent to do so," people like Ruiz can acknowledge that Allen is a top QB while still giving themselves credit for being correct in their initial analyses.
  22. Same here. Just watched it again this past weekend.
