  1. Bland and says absolutely nothing of substance. Doesn't she pick every game 23-21? A Chernobyl level of boring. Her off air persona is probably the complete opposite of what you see on-air. It's all flats, pony tails and Peleton.
  2. IMO, the state of the NFL economy is more fragile than the NFL would like to admit. In cities where the NFL failed during the years of growing and peak NFL, there's no hope for success in the stable to declining NFL. LA couldn't keep teams during the boom years of Los Angeles, when the demographics and economy were vastly superior to today, and that's telling to me. They have serious market issues in LA, Jacksonville and Nashville for starters. They have billions riding on the assumption that Las Vegas will be a football town. The NFL approaches market planning like its 1989 and with an air of hubris that the NFL can never decline in popularity.
  3. Ronin is my top choice because it has several exciting, excellent choreographed chase scenes, not just one. Criminally under-marketed movie at the time. It legitimately is one of the best movies of the 90s.
  4. Excellent. I appreciate it.
  5. How long have you been brewing coffee with it?
  6. Highly unlikely an NFL team wants him at this juncture of the season. Even the Patriots. He's Richie Incognito without the violence and I have no doubt the Raiders have snapped their backs in keeping Richie on the field.
  7. It's likely those two correctional officers will be dead before the end of the year. All they needed to do was get them into custody somehow.
  8. Has anyone had experience with a Moccamaster coffee maker? I've tried all the store coffee makers and I've used a Keurig coffee maker for the last five years. They all make an "ok" cup of coffee IMO but I was looking at these Moccamasters in my quest for a better, richer tasting cup of coffee. I'm on well water (and it's softened and filtered) and I prefer to ground the beans before I use them.
  9. Yep. John Hoogenakker. My bet is Matice is the "John Clark" that's in the novels.
  10. I think the NFL sends a message with this one. At minimum, the remainder of the 2019 season. I wouldn't' be surprised if he gets at least half of next season too. Garrett had malicious intent, used a weapon and he connected with the hit to a person's head. It's felony assault. All on broadcast television, and if you're a cynic, that's the real reason why the punishment will be significant.
  11. I'm surprised at how many posters are still using bar soap today. Not comfortable with body wash?
  12. I tend to agree that the Bills will show up on Sunday and play above general expectation. The team always plays hard and McDermott has shown skill in having the team prepared for games after a loss. I just wish the team as a whole played with more aggressiveness and edge.
  13. I liked it. It had considerably more in-depth plot for an early 90s action film which set it apart at the time. It had a young and largely unknown Halle Berry in it. I remember critics and fans thought it was a riff on the Lethal Weapon movie design because Shane Black wrote both of those screenplays. However, in hindsight, it was an inadvertently proper Die Hard sequel. John McClane and Joe Hallenbeck are essentially the same guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, going up against well dressed white criminals with African American sidekicks (Reginald Vel Johnson, Damon Wayans, Samuel L. Jackson).
  14. In addition to his role on SOA, I remember him from The Last Boy Scout, which for all intents and purposes was a Die Hard sequel, back in the day when Bruce Willis actually cared about his acting.
  15. That's the fundamental issue. Right there. The Ravens have put Lamar Jackson in a position to succeed.
  16. The Vikings play angry. The Bills do not.
  17. Interesting episode but the TWD writers treat the viewers like idiots for the sake of story. Even the crudest water purification has been around since the 1600s. You don't need to be Captain Steven J. Survivalist to know not to drink raw water from the stream. Yet...Carol is still making coffee on a gas stove. Who's delivering the propane? Haha My theory is the Commonwealth is the C in CRM. (helicopter people)
  18. I disagree with the premise the team is a year away from the playoffs. Another year won't fix both the coaching and player inconsistency. That's on the coaching staff to remedy immediately. That being said, that's a very difficult step for a lot of people. People who have faith in an ideology or process, if you will, are reluctant to make big changes in what got them there.
  19. In my area, starting the equipment early is no big deal because the farmers are out with the equipment in the fields. On the other hand, mowing the lawn at 9pm during the summer is not something warmly received.
  20. I voted for coaching. This team has no nasty, no killer instinct. The "process" is like one big Zoloft on these players. I don't think there's a Bills fan in the world that understood that bizarre offensive game plan yesterday.
  21. I think his second term will be difficult. No President has a *great* second term. It would not surprise me to see him resign 2-3 years into it. Recessions are cyclical and we're due for one. I think issues like Afghanistan, state pensions, infrastructure, and healthcare will *require* action, likely very unpopular action with his base. He will likely get to appoint another 1-2 Supreme Court judges but those will end up being bargaining chips to get legislative priorities accomplished. The GOP will exert more effort to reign in the tweets, the Trump personality and the Trump family. He's a lame duck the hour after inauguration and the party will want to build the case for Pence in 2024. I expect you'll see more visible GOP push back and behind the scenes efforts to get people into vacant positions. He will hate being boxed in and he'll just quit. You'll see Pence take on a more prominent role. As for the Democrats, I expect them to lose their impeachment fiasco and the 2020 election. I think the former will significantly impact the latter. I think the party will reset at that point with somebody not named Obama or Clinton. I'd expect the inquires to die down but the resistance to do anything whatsoever legislatively, to remain.
  22. I don't think this is Trump's fault. The dairy economy is in significant decline for one reason - people don't drink and eat as much dairy as they used to and companies are using less dairy in products (that's why most ice cream is now...a dairy dessert) The price of milk in the US peaked in 2014 and only 15% or so is exported outside the continental 48. If the US government wasn't one of Big Dairy's biggest customers, the market would have cratered years ago. The other factor to consider is dairy farming was a sector of farming where the family farms were able to hold on - when demand was higher. As the corporations have acquired the struggling family farms, it's hard to beat them on price.
  23. The more expensive the restaurant, the more health violations it likely has, at least in Pennsylvania. Nobody reads restaurant reviews but more and more newspapers are publishing restaurant inspection reports verbatim and IMO, people are reading those.
  24. In my area, the battle is between Popeye's and Bojangles for the fried chicken. KFC is a distant competitor. CFA beats them all on the "experience" - their customer service and product consistency is top notch.
