  1. Seems fair. Dareus is one that I want to like, and often the situations don't feel huge... but boy are there a lot these incidents and does he ever suck at explaining himself (I'll always recall the "I just go out and things happen" explanation). I think your take is accurate though... and wouldn't be shocked if he genuinely didn't realize the expectations even though they likely were told.
  2. We practically did. He got a long term high paying deal. The other thing is that you can hire someone with shared philosophies as a replacement instead of alternating 34, 43, 34 and likewise on offense.
  3. Name him. Seriously, who is the very good qb to sign? Or do we just need a guy that can call plays in the huddle this week?
  4. Even if he recovers he's a poor skill set for this team
  5. Been saying it since the Sammy/Darby day if not earlier
  6. I agree - but I think there's a range of "omg can you believe that he did that" and "oh, hopefully all is clear now" that is still possible. I.e. Is he actively defiant or mostly dumb/immature
  7. You sure do like starting threads like this, eh?
  8. Morally and ethically is have zero issue. Distractions from something like this worry me little (strong teams shouldn't be broken by something this minor). The only problem I see is cap space, talent and fit to scheme. If we could benefit from him limiting his own job market and get him on the cheap for a 2-3 year deal and go into next offseason with Taylor, peterman, kaepernick and a high pick as the depth chart battling it out I would be pretty ok.
  9. After about 3/4 of a game sitting, TT would be back to being well liked among the board
  10. To be fair, we still don't know exactly what happened and where this went wrong. If, for instance, Rex let guys that were out with injury in the preseason roll in on their own and McD had a different expectation that was assumed to be known... that's way different than if MD said "screw that guy I'm doing whatever I want" MD gets very little benefit of the doubt but this could be pretty minor. Or incredibly defiant. We will see.
  11. Nor can it if you don't have rare talents. There's a balance of assembling hard workers and managing some trouble
  12. So his punishment was to get home from a game it sounds like he wasn't playing in anyway (if he couldn't practice today) Makes me wonder if he knew he was out and not suiting up and it's preseason so he figured he could coast in closer to kickoff... and if that's something that was at one point accepted (cough Rex cough)
  13. 1) it's odd to me too that we gutted the young core of the roster while keeping the vets 2) the offensive scheme does not playto the strengths of our qb. Which seems likewise backwards in building this even if TT isn't the answer. Surprised we aren't transitioning the scheme in a way that matches talent. 3) kromer is an elite position coach in this league. Among the best of the best at any position on any team. 4/5) yup but that's life in the NFL when you don't have the pillars to match a plan and we haven't had those for a looooong time. Unfortunately it's a hard process and the franchise has consistently made it harder on itself regardless of who is leading
  14. I think you've got to elaborate at least a tiny bit otherwise this really doesn't add anything to the conversation and only muddies the water. I'm not saying spill everything but you are so incredibly vague that I think it actually takes away from a discussion instead of adding to it
  15. Do you think McCoy Williams and Tolbert has us set for next year? That's rolling with 2 guys on the wrong side of 30 and little depth
  16. I've asked a few times and think we don't know what happened He obviously missed the team bus, but how/why is unknown.
  17. Today against an NFL DC, I think he is. That isn't an insult to peterman when being compare to a 2 year starter with a ton of time in the league sndvrrps in college. Also he's got a long resume better than peterman in Peterson as a starter in live fire. Peterman has to WIN the job. McD didn't mean the best practice on Friday at each position would start Sunday when he called it an open competition
  18. To go back to the track and field analogy-- bolt could trip or pull a hammy or have a mountain lion sneak into the arena and attack him... but without a big curveball it's got to be about as slam dunk as possible on paper
  19. Tyrod but I'll continue to echo that I think we will run an offense that does not play to his strengths near as well as we have in the past.... but he's simply more talented than peterman AND more prepared to play
  20. I thought he found side hugs were too aggressive without asking consent. I am pretty sure he is stuck on assualting women with his eyes.
  21. With a couple weeks til the first week, unless its SIGNIFICANT, it's not significant. Odds are it's just a minor bump
  22. I mean, word was he worked all offseason to be in great shape. I'd assume he wasn't late cause he couldn't find his lighter to hit his bong and then was delayed taking a nap. Now what the story was, I have no idea - irresponsible? Probably. Lazy or drug related? Seems unlikely.
