  1. I mean, word was he worked all offseason to be in great shape. I'd assume he wasn't late cause he couldn't find his lighter to hit his bong and then was delayed taking a nap. Now what the story was, I have no idea - irresponsible? Probably. Lazy or drug related? Seems unlikely.
  2. I'd venture quite a few huge NFL players that have contributed to championships are stone cold idiots. All about managing them.
  3. Any idea why he was late, given that I'm sure they traveled together and were at a team hotel? Seems odd. Was it a barely missed the bus ala Hughes last year and Uber hit traffic? Or he totally MIA all day?
  4. It is. I agree. I just don't know that this regime has proven themselves either though. It'll be an interesting situation to watch. It's possible they came in with a target on him given their process and his history and this wasn't incredibly serious from his end.
  5. His 22m in dead money NEXT year. 38m if cut this offseason. The "continue to be a bill" line probably is not productive.
  6. Haven't we seen what a WR with foot issues gets here? Dareus is a great talent. We will see where this goes. It's early and could go either way. This could be him or the front office and he could react a wide variety of ways
  7. Not all of them have to be leaders. Some you just keep out of their own way. Hopefully he nails the message here and we don't have such a key guy check out cause he's frustrated. It's a fine line sometimes.
  8. Without knowing what it was, it's hard to compare to anything
  9. Probably doesn't push us over the top in 2018. Unless we end up nailing a qb without major trade and hit free agency in a way that has a lot of synergy with our picks.... it's looking at 2019 to become truly viable in a realistic timeline
  10. What's the worst offer they would decline? Think they turn down an ok RB2 and day two pick, for instance? Really I think the biggest hurdle would be that we have nothing viable behind him and I don't think we are full tank even if we aren't pushing for 2017
  11. I'll agree to a degree but running back and quarterback are very different skill sets to succeed. One is much more physically demanding. And as to gore- still productive but his YPC is down 0.7 the last two years compared to his career. That's a very substantial drop.
  12. I think we are in or entering that borrowed time any day now -- I'm not expecting him to carry much past 30
  13. Right- if looking for the most premium reward in a vacuum, it's the logical spot. If someone comes close in compensation then obviously you take the other offer.
  14. The unspoken issue in the cost is what offers has he gotten and turned down. It's possible that beyond distracting he is priced wrong. If Brady held out for 40m he might be unemployed- if kaep thinks he deserves that $10m deal to bea fringe starter, well maybe he's more of the $5m solid backup
  15. You can flip it on it's head a little and acknowledge that kaep has made some choices that make him harder to employ (not just this) but that those reacting so angrily that taking a knee made him unemployable are possibly the larger problem within this specific debate. At this point I'd be more apt to hire CK than someone that refused to work with CK. But I get that this is entertainment and you cater to the customers and many hate him.
  16. Still don't think he's their best. Though it certainly hurts regardless.
  17. Dropping your best member of the group and changing coaches and all the depth is not the "same" and isbe hardpressed to name a spot that is better this year confidently but so see some obvious downgrading Best end: Mario 2014 better than Hughes 2017 Second best end: Hughes 2014 better than Shaq 2017 DTs: I'd say both better in 2014 Depth: Probably lean better in 2014 but haven't watched enough of this group Coach: we will see but I don't think you finds better talent to scheme fit than schwartz with those guys
  18. Because many people have seen him play and think they do know that he can no longer?
  19. To be fair, part of the assumption is that the GM and ownership arent part of the suck in any tank discussion. I'm pretty sure there are posters on this board better than leaders in the colts front office.
  20. Remember when he was toast in the preseason as a rookie? Sometimes coaches put you in extreme matchups of weird situations in preseason because who cares what happens and you can learn from it. Likewise, sometimes it's an indicator that something's wrong
