  1. He probably isnt going to kill any kids in the street. Id bet its among the safest spots a kid could go for Halloween
  2. It would, essentially, be trading those three for Benjamin. Which is a huge win still... but I agree they wont do it to avoid upsetting the balance and atmosphere we seem to have (well, that and no gm does this ever despite a full offseason talking about the big week 9 cuts)
  3. I think hed still call you soft. This thread isnt going how you thought, eh? Its a pretty basic comment from a guy in MDs position. No big deal.
  4. Because holmes is now 4 at best, Davis a backup and some here think the drop from ducasse to Miller/groy is minimal at worst It is not going to happen realistically but on paper alone its not terrible
  5. Unless the story floated out is true. Its plausible. Its not a huge deal though as both are going to show up 110% The only concern is if the evaluations were wrong, not whether they are bff
  6. What if thats part of the process and you are messing with it?!?
  7. If I told you that todays trade was Benjamin for holmes, ducasse and whoever the third guy would be i bet youd be ecstatic. That said, its stoll very unlikely
  8. Frankly Ive never seen a GM do this and thought it was odd to expect. In theory Id probably say make the move but in reality its never super viable at this juncture
  9. No he took us to having a viable nfl group. Tboughwe have a large number of guys of similar quality to Holmes. Its holmes, ducasse and who else to get tbe3rd?
  10. A fair point. Unbelievably dumb on their part. The owner should be demanding answers and likely get someones head for this.
  11. Surprised- that means he had a late first or lower on sammy? If so I think that likely explains the trade in August more than attitude. Would be very insightful into what his prototype wr is.
  12. Hes not my favorite but hes a good option. Id rather pay sammy but at least we aggressively addressed the hole. So it ends up being: Sammy, cardale and a 3 For Benjamin, Gaines and a 2 I think the add ons make up for the drop from Sammy to KB
  13. Biggest knock is the timing being so late but cant always control that
  14. None of this is all that shocking. I think more troublesome for pats fans than the strain is of kraft actually pulled rank. If JG ends up the better option, Id be frustrated the owner and not the hall of fame coach made that call
  15. To be fair, this is an instance where it was a fair and accurate description there was a real risk he could lose his leg here.
  16. I like our kickers. Ill be hard pressed to buy that crossman suddenly became a good coach.
  17. Ignoring the highlight reel- it comes down to what hes doing play in and play out. I doubt any of us watched him closely enough today to say anything other than he had a couple of big opportunities that he capitalized on
  18. And I hate the idea for really beating up a guy for a comment 30 years ago. But if he makes comments that are kind of dicey about black guys on the regular today I think its fair context and he should be asked about it.
  19. I have to point out something. Ive used the phrase and not meant it racially. Im sure you have done the same. As have many others here. But do we actually have any indication that McNair is free from racial issues here that may have been bleeding through with his use of prison instead of asylum and describing a group of black guys. I mean, just because you and I didnt have those undertones intended doesnt mean he didnt, right? And just because I didnt intend to offend someone doesnt mean my behavior isnt offensive. What offends you and your friends may be widely different than a group of 22 year olds. Or black women. Or people in Baltimore. Though i hope that the offended would give me a chance to hear about where I went wrong instead of crushing me if my intentions were pure. Its a lot of gray area out there that I think you are neglecting. Ive intentionally been avoiding some of the firm takes or addressing his intent as theres a lot thats not really possible to comment on. But I cant blame someone being irked for being insulted by their boss then getting a halfass apology. And the phrase is meant to insult even if not racially and McNair gave a rough apology from what I saw.
  20. Its amazing. When we first traded for him my gut was he wouldnt last long. Hes doing a ton and doing it without a ton of help.
  21. Would keep cordy. If Henderson can net a RB2, or a couple other spots (fast WR) then Id pull the trigger. Speed on offense would be my goal - so not graham.
  22. And an apology is fine enough by me. I agree that people escalate things to level 10 unnecessarily. Though if he tried to skate by with some made up version of what happened - thats not an actual apology. (And I wouldnt boycott but if my manager started into making things up to defend himself Id probably start peeking at job listings)
  23. Take race out completely whats the upside of using the phrase? Its not simplifying a more complex concept Its not an economy of words Its just a way to sound cutesy while putting down someone lower on the ladder than you. Im not running to HR about it, and Im not losing sleep.... but Id venture that the type of manager that leans on phrases like this probably isnt hitting it out of the ballpark in making employees feel valued.
  24. I think hes been the older out of date guy more than the intentionally mean guy. He made headlines last year for saying he was more concerned about the knee jerk reactions to concussions than concussions themselves, for instance. Its probably getting to be time for him to not have a mic in front of him
  25. While I completely agree- its still a stupid phrase to use to describe your employees. Even if its only slightly demeaning to any reasonable person, whats the upside?
