Mike Waufle talks Bills' DL issues with Buffalo News
NoSaint replied to JoshBarnett's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So he’s saying they need to fit it up? He can be a good coach and they good players and simply be a bad match in personality or philosophy at this point we have our coaches and are getting a new roster for them. We will see if it works. All we can do is wait. -
It’s a complete wildcard this week- by end of season I expect him to level off into a more predictable quality (likely below average but not disaster). not knowing how the offense will run means we could have a leg up, or make extra mistakes. Likewise he probably makes some throws he shouldn’t and those could go for 7 for either team. Predictions are a bit of throwing darts while blindfolded this week.

Nfl.com: Potential landing spots for Tyrod Taylor

Given his constant refusal to name taylor the starter in the offseason, I’m a little surprised to go back on such a concrete statement so quickly. -
Whatever happened to Doug Whaley and His Crew?
NoSaint replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Truth is, we don’t know all that much behind the scenes. I could likewise write up the script for a story contradicting that... but... we are just flinging stuff at the wall. I do not believe rex was Whaley’s top guy. I do not know how far down the list he was. -
I didn’t think we’d see it this early. Especially with a winning record- but I’m pretty sure that many here foresaw the issue when we started to hear about the scheme. And then double down on that feeling when we swapped sammy for Matthews. TT is limited and we played into his limitations instead of strengths.

If he truly thought Rex was great - I agree if he thought “rex is getting hired and I can either make the best of it or be unemployed” then I less strongly agree -

Hes yet yet another example of a guy that fans call a bum for not succeeding while the organization set him up to fail. We have a ton of those in the last decade. Odds are some were bums, but odds likewise are that some would have been very good if dropped elsewhere And it’s fair to say a failure to get what you need is a failure in the role - I won’t dispute that part. But if in a functional environment he likely would need a bit less of the “managing the owners” skill set and maybe we’d see more out of his “managing a football organization” skill set -

Hes not a great passer passer but he’s not a mess. Invest in outside receivers and downfield threats instead of possession receivers and tight ends. A solid running game. Picture Pittsburgh maybe. The biggest catch 22 is you need him on a cheap contract to be successful and as soon as he’s successful you lose the cheap contract. -

He needs an OC that won’t make him have to be a traditional qb. In the right scheme I’d count him as serviceable -
We’ve had a lot of posters that think the only mistakes are the bad throws you make— but a good opportunity missed is also huge. It just goes by quietly unnoticed while the interception makes the highlight reels.

Longtime NFL Scout Says Taylor Is "Below Average QB"
NoSaint replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’ll stick with the fact much like fitz he’s a low tier vet starter. You have to look for an upgrade with him but likewise it’s hard to solidly upgrade the position from him. -
Phillip Rivers enters concussion protocol

Its pretty much the worst thing possible. Like the type I hadn’t even considered. So I now expect it. -
Bills D has quit on the fans
NoSaint replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup- and most are not hugely rich. League minimum for 2-3 years is great pay but it’s nice nest egg pay, not set for life pay. -
Imagine how bad they would’ve quit if we kept sammy, or dareus! Lucky we have lesser but fully bought in talents.

I don’t think that describes as many as you think it does on the financial side. Even if just a job, most very much stress over keeping that job. -
I don’t do a board, but roughly speaking I recall being pretty close to this, for better and worse.

The Last time we had a good Oline?
NoSaint replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Down so much so fast, I’d venture run blocking only hurt so bad today -
It’ll sound snarky but a genuine point here— there are very few fans on this board that have closely watched a successful team week in and week out, year in and year out, in the salary cap era. Most are so used to hearing they can’t afford talented players, when the truth is that this is a league where you need a few explosive stars to even start to compete consistently.
-
There’s absolutely no reason this needed to be a multi year rebuild. Fans went hook line and sinker on a narrative about how bad the cap was.... we now also believe that every young talent was a cancer... it’s ridiculous.

Garbage Time over the last two weeks

Who is in love with tyrods garbage time stats? -
Hes following the philosophy if he can audible. The problem is our head coach and OC are ok with this philosophy

Tyrod 9/17 for 53 yards through 3 quarters. FRANCHISE QB!

Maybe he just dislikes you and uses mocking you as a way to vent his frustration with the losses. Wouldn’t mean he wants them to lose. -

It’s more than one game. This is twice he’s led the offense to 3 points this year. And not all those other games were good either. hes not the worst starting qb but if he’s better than average it’s merely because of the volume of injuries. It’s hard to win in the nfl without better than average qb play.
