  1. Could you link up the explanation on how it’s measured? On my phone and skimmed through fast but didn’t see it
  2. Without knowing what it means, I just worry I’m using confirmation bias here to say “see, I was right!” Is it the targeted receiver only or all in routes? if just the targeted - do 2 or 3 totally blown coverages (which we didn’t see often) really impact a stat that is a matter of feet (and between many a matter of inches) between rankings? how exact are the measuring tools being used? And what method is used? I agree the group wasn’t good and have carried that opinion back to the offseason — but the stats questionable without knowing what’s going into it, yet alone if 6 inches extra seperation is meaningful
  3. Its no shock our WRs were below average. this stat is still pretty hazy and hard to discuss without context.
  4. He’s been my dude since the lead up to that draft. He checks every box and then some.
  5. Is that all receivers at time of throw or just the target? How is it measured? Theres a lot missing from this nifty stat but it’s not shocking that a relatively slow group with multiple guys joining mid year starting by year end would not rate highly
  6. Yup. Counting NO it would essentially be 1 in 4 games it happened. Nitpick over whether that counts or not but the frequency of games we flat couldn’t score in was astonishing
  7. Put another way - he’s a big productive guy that any team would welcome on the field — but he’s not the guy that makes the safety’s day hell. Put him in a scheme with a good TE, fast number two, strong run game and dynamic qb (ala Carolina with Olsen, Ginn, cam and those backs when he was there) and he can feast in a situation where the defense had to pick its poison. But he’s not aj green who even when doubled is a struggle and is opening things up for everyone else every play
  8. Jax, nola, and kc really are anything but big Nfl markets. They definitely skew towards wards fantasy football guys though. All that said the level of insult to tre is slim to none.
  9. Both have been monsters tre being second best corner in a great corner class isn’t near the insult some here think. In fact second to lattimore is an excellent accomplishment
  10. Im a little higher on him but he’s still behind: brown, Beckham, Julio, green, Evans, dez, Michael thomas, jordy Demaryus, Hopkins, cooper, Alshon, cooks, Adams, TY... off hand... that makes him at best average. Short term there are some older guys ahead and long term some younger depending on how you want to weigh things — making him a below average #1 probably.... but not a train wreck either. If you really sit down with it I’d guess the earliest he lands is about 20 and latest in the early 30s? Depending on if you prefer speed or size. He’s not in the “dynamic in any scheme with any qb” category. Plug him into the right system with the right qb and keep healthy — and he’s a very good resource though.
  11. Define “good number 2” John. Would that mean top top half of the second 32 WRs (top 48 wr)? Or maybe second best wr on most teams? Or simply the second best guy on your favorite team? Im having trouble finding a definition that works. If a street free agent you bring on in October is your #2 your situation is in shambles. I think Thompson is well served as a #4 with the understanding that he likely is top 3 any given week with injuries and is in regular packages even as 4. As a depth guy stepping up he’s viable. That’s a great resource and not a knock on him. Could probably even sneak by as your 3... but let’s really hope to have a couple guys better than him.
  12. If saints and Atlanta win this week the nfc championship is going to be INSANE in the super dome
  13. You laugh but as he can’t be tagged and has played hard ball with the saints before I wouldn’t be shocked if he ended his career like manning. Doubt he would consider playing in the elements though (generally speaking I think he stays put though)
  14. Bingo. Dream offseason something like this: free agency add an impact player to the d line, and a steady vet at wr and lb. literally any cheap rb. If we can package 21 and next years 1 for a qb, impact lb at 22 then WR and a defensive lineman day two and rb at the end of day two or early day 3 Gaines/what to do at CB2 is the only thing left open at that point. Maybe the extra day two pick
  15. I wasnt truly ranking them but essentially calling for two guys that can compete at a high level. I don’t think we add an elite vet as we are probably paying Benjamin so I picture 2-4 being role players next year with hopefully zay or the (likely day 2) rookie stepping up long term in that scenario
  16. This. I think ala Stevie he’s another low end number 1 but good number 2. He comes with limitations and that’s before knee questions. Comparing him to Larry Fitzgerald (a top 2-3 talent for a long stretch) is unfair to both guys. I think Matthews walks (hopefully a comp pick down the line) and we add a low-mid vet with speed and a day 2 wr benjamin zay vet with speed rookie who has a full skill set thompson and maybe one of those guys or a late draft pick takes over return duty at 6
  17. The house is on fire and you are pointing out that the carpet has some wear and tear. No ones particularly disagreeing with you. You just are being obnoxious about taylor as you have been all year. We are getting out of the house instead of suffocating with you.
  18. Bingo. Brandon thorn? Dudes bio is pretty slim.
  19. Which of those guys touches the ball every snap and gets a $15m check? You’re instead focusing on the third string TE. Is our third string considerably out of line with his peers, and if he is does it considerably effect the team? Now ask the same for Tyrod compared to playoff QBs.
  20. We scored 3 points in a high octane pass happy Nfl. That happened 3 times this season (4 if you ignore a trash time TD by our backup qb vs the saints) thats HORRIFIC. Essentially 1 in 4 games this season we scored 3 points.
  21. He threw the under and a loss. I don’t think you get to call anyone out this week
  22. It’s easy to make people look good on paper today. Odds are we stay mid range and are a coin flip to get in depending on QB Play, turnovers, and health at key positions
  23. McDermott hired an OC that didn’t mesh with his QB by definition I can’t say he got the most out of the talent when he didn’t maximize the most important position. Thats not to say he is awful but I don’t think he optimally handled the season either
  24. I don’t mind peterman but peterman fans can at times be really hard to put up with
  25. Weve seen enough of smith to say he’s probably not a top ten guy suddenly. He’s a decent, not great, option but much like fitz or Tyrod, or Orton, or... any of a bunch of journeyman type of guys— you hope you catch their good stretches while you look for a replacement.
