  1. I think a lot of us are in agreement with strategy but not so much on what “high” or “priority” mean. I don’t think there’s a group advocating a first rounder. Just a premium over “any dude off the street”
  2. Or we could get a hunt, kamara etc... without a huge premium
  3. Yea, I don’t know factually but feel like sometime late on day 2 there tends to be a cliff for backs. That’s why I keep nudging the discussion from the fourth to the third I’m not rushing to take a guy in the first but I think there’s a sweet spot in round 2-3 where you can get a really impactful RB instead of a mediocre tackle.
  4. I’m really surprised that if on the fence they gave it to the one that extended the drive. Often refs try not to make the drive extending call on a 50-50. If close or uncertain, keep the impact of the call minimal kind of thought process
  5. I won’t pretend to know what happened there
  6. Again, my crazy theory is the ref there is watching a couple routes in live action on the field and likely just blew the call because he has a handful of cues that help him process information fast enough in the moment and it didn’t work on this play
  7. I prefaced with the call being wrong. if thinking it’s human error instead of conspiracy, I guess I’ll be a moron troll. But what does it make everyone that is watching a game they think is rigged and then getting upset at any and every call that confirms it for them?
  8. It wasn’t just that he was open- it was that bodies came together at the top of the route and one went down. I didn’t see the refs angles but obviously they are going to have certain cues and triggers that are likely to indicate a penalty. if you prefer to think the games rigged, I’m not even sure why you’d be watching.
  9. Meh- it was the wrong call but when officiating that many guys in real time at weird angles you use cues... as romo noted, based on an initial look with the guy getting open on the cut like that it’s normally a shove. Getting the good angle, slow motion, and knowing what was coming it was obvious.
  10. We would run to the podium to take him in the 5-6th round and you would praise the late gem we found If we hit on qb we aren’t that different than most of these teams.
  11. Always blows my mind when teams don’t defen the sidelines there though. Regardless of what you think of the clock - you deserve what you get allowing that
  12. I guess for me is part of the appeal is you can prioritize the position at pick 100, while adding a defensive lineman at 100 is a lot less likely to be impactful. I’m Definitely not saying put it over an edge rusher at 21
  13. With the extra day 2 picks, I wouldn’t even mind a third rounder if you are looking at a guy you think can be a workhorse back if it’s 100 touches this year at minimum, and perhaps many more if shady tweaks anything. It’s a guy that could carry the load in a year for a transition... and mid round lineman are a far bigger crapshoot
  14. Yea- them both out and the fumble were all huuuuge breaks in that game (not trying to diminish the win— you take them where you can and hope you get away with it on the days you are unlucky)
  15. Qb for sure. But if we are grinding out games, rb is right up there too
  16. We were very lucky he was out against us. Heckuva wr
  17. What an odd lob of a throw
  18. But whats shaq going to fetch? A day 3 pick? I’d rather have him coming off the bench relatively cheaply for a DE than a late pick.
  19. If true that shaq and cordy are on the block it’s hard to get past the idea that there’s a scarlet W on guys he picked. It would be quite literally every single first, second, and most thirds gone in just a year. It’s remarkable in how thorough the process was. I can’t think of another regime that has even gone this far this quick, yet alone maybe the next couple moves being possible.
  20. There are very few good QBs in the league. He’s not one of them. there are a lot of mediocre QBs in the league. He’s among them. Not the best of them, and probably not the worst of them.
  21. Agreed. I think the favorites handle business. I did vote jags in the poll as I hate going straight favorites and don’t see Tennessee pulling an upset Though in the nfc I think both road teams have a great chance Jags vs vikings in Minnesota has to be pretty low on the dream list for sponsors.
  22. Like when San Fran scored the go ahead TD with 2 mins left and Drew led a td drive back to take the lead (before the defense totally gave the game back in under a minute)? Or beating the eagles with a fg as time expired? i won’t disagree with people picking Tom. He’s great. Probably the right answer. But I think a lot of people will make the decisions based on a couple iconic plays swaying their opinions and not a true side by side comparison of the accomplishments
  23. Brady’s “season average” of his 34 game season being brought to 16 games would be about 4300 yards, 29 TDs and 14 picks. Just a rough reference point You specifically called out the playoffs though. Stat was brees has been MUCH better in the playoffs. More yards per game, more TDs per game, fewer picks per game, higher completion percentage He’s been there less often though and those 9ers and seahawk losses were tough. Stop that beast-quake run and they are pretty much the same win percentage with brees having the far better stats. I get you don’t get to flip games but I don’t think the point you were trying to make is as clear and obvious as you think it is
  24. In 12 games he has over 3900 yards 26 TDs and 7ints extrapolates that’s over 5200 yards 35 TDs and 9 ints for a 16 game “season” its a 7-5 playoff record but honestly 2 of those he lost on the defense giving up a final drive score after he took the lead and one was an OT loss with the chargers (don’t remember the story) hes been pretty excellent in the post season
  25. I often think the dome issue is overhyped but I think it’s got to be a factor in this conversation. I’m not sure Brees has the build to have sustained success in the elements the way Brady has. I think if you gave brees the entire pats organization dropped into nola he’d have a MONSTER career. If you send drew to Boston, I’m not sure what happens To be honest- Drew’s contract has paid him very well, but it’s nowhere near they top reasons the saints had major cap struggles. Gallette and Graham were waaaaay bigger issues. Among several others
