  1. But why even tune in if you are only looking for a reason to be angry. There are people complaining about calls that they acknowledged were correct. Just seems a miserable way to spend a Sunday.
  2. He was certainly touched by the back, no? I wasn’t watching for that specifically but with them draped on each other like that I’d be surprised to see otherwise
  3. Some of y’all are getting unbearable with this Ref stuff
  4. Not just gassed but disorganized— I get why coaches don’t want to call timeout there but totally agree that sometimes getting your feet under you is worth giving the opponent an extra play
  5. I enjoy the “5 straight accurate calls” complaint
  6. “Note: assemble a ton of defensive line talent and just keeping adding to it”
  7. Maybe it’s the favre vs New Orleans day- they are hitting him.
  8. Other than disliking them more, how exactly would you be holding them accountable?
  9. Arent you charming
  10. We’ve had some ridiculous dudes with this stuff before but I don’t get beating up a guy for wanting to know whether or not an article is free before clicking. Seems an incredibly fair question and he doesn’t seem to be an entitled jerk about it
  11. Simmer down— people have been commenting on the things you brought up- your distaste for the pats and that a bills fan found him were the bulk of your post. If you wanted to talk about other stuff you could frame the thread differently
  12. Seems the type that might get the locker room and managing guys and hand over the reigns on scheme to his coordinators? I like his odds a lot more if he’s not bogged down in being a coordinator himself
  13. Its certainly a fair number for a rookie qb
  14. We will see- I think he ends up closer to where woods is potentially. Receiver pay is moving up pretty quick lately. This is the type of player I think you can cycle through with good day 2 drafting though. I don’t pay those relatively interchangeable possession receivers hugely unless you think you are gearing up for a super bowl run and the guys a perfect fit in your depth chart and ideally it’s not a 5+ year deal for that type of guy (unless planned for 3 and just using the extra for cap flex)
  15. I think he’s the type that’s a pretty good 3, not a great 2... if you pair him with an elite game breaker at 1, it’s probably a fine setup (minus the finances of it moving forward). If you put him with Benjamin, you are inviting the safeties to have a field day beating up your offense
  16. He doesn’t suck but he’s not a guy you pair with KB as your 1-2 punch. If we end up paying $20m a year for that duo I’d be seriously disappointed
  17. I know it’s fun to make the answer 110% black and white... and I agree the overwhelming majority lands on marcell... but the truth is th is a lot of dudes in this league exist on the fringes of what you and I would consider acceptable. Lots of bad backgrounds, enabling, etc... in their pasts. A guy like Marcell, even short of his full potential, is still a world class talent. As an organization you have choices in how you manage those situations. As an organization the bills have had a lot of disfunction through the years. I feel like the organization managed to hit the worst on both sides by giving him the biggest financial commitment possible with little team leverage, while also giving him little structure to maximize his talents. in turn the new regime shipped him out quick eating a TON of cap for a player I think we probably could’ve reached well enough to make the 2 year plan worthwhile (maximizing the contribution received per dollar spent). Marcell was and is a high maintenance guy - I’m not making excuses or letting him off the hook —- just acknowledging it’s a waste to take the stance that the team has no role in the success of these guys
  18. Oh yea, I’m sure Rex was awesome for his growing up. I also don’t think McD handles him ideally (not as poorly but not ideal) even if we accept at face value that he shouldn’t be here long term — maximizing his play for 2 years was probably the better goal.
  19. I’m sorry but I’m having a hard time letting “realized after reading about Dabol's new system that the real difficulty is actually largely the skill position players rather than the QB adapting to the system” go unchecked.
  20. When you reflect on the family’s statement— there’s a bit of a romantic nature to dying doing what you love... but a whole lot of sadness that he didn’t just take care of himself. They clearly (and understandably) are trying to make the best of it but....
  21. I think the family’s statement is worth posting: OUR FAMILY SAT TOGETHER THIS MORNING WITH THE MEDICAL EXAMINER – CORONER’S OFFICE AND WE WERE INFORMED OF THEIR FINAL ANALYSIS THAT TOM PETTY PASSED AWAY DUE TO AN ACCIDENTAL DRUG OVERDOSE AS A RESULT OF TAKING A VARIETY OF MEDICATIONS. UNFORTUNATELY TOM’S BODY SUFFERED FROM MANY SERIOUS AILMENTS INCLUDING EMPHYSEMA, KNEE PROBLEMS AND MOST SIGNIFICANTLY A FRACTURED HIP. DESPITE THIS PAINFUL INJURY HE INSISTED ON KEEPING HIS COMMITMENT TO HIS FANS AND HE TOURED FOR 53 DATES WITH A FRACTURED HIP AND, AS HE DID, IT WORSENED TO A MORE SERIOUS INJURY. ON THE DAY HE DIED HE WAS INFORMED HIS HIP HAD GRADUATED TO A FULL ON BREAK AND IT IS OUR FEELING THAT THE PAIN WAS SIMPLY UNBEARABLE AND WAS THE CAUSE FOR HIS OVER USE OF MEDICATION. WE KNEW BEFORE THE REPORT WAS SHARED WITH US THAT HE WAS PRESCRIBED VARIOUS PAIN MEDICATIONS FOR A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES INCLUDING FENTANYL PATCHES AND WE FEEL CONFIDENT THAT THIS WAS, AS THE CORONER FOUND, AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT. AS A FAMILY WE RECOGNIZE THIS REPORT MAY SPARK A FURTHER DISCUSSION ON THE OPIOID CRISIS AND WE FEEL THAT IT IS A HEALTHY AND NECESSARY DISCUSSION AND WE HOPE IN SOME WAY THIS REPORT CAN SAVE LIVES. MANY PEOPLE WHO OVERDOSE BEGIN WITH A LEGITIMATE INJURY OR SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE POTENCY AND DEADLY NATURE OF THESE MEDICATIONS. ON A POSITIVE NOTE WE NOW KNOW FOR CERTAIN HE WENT PAINLESSLY AND BEAUTIFULLY EXHAUSTED AFTER DOING WHAT HE LOVED THE MOST, FOR ONE LAST TIME, PERFORMING LIVE WITH HIS UNMATCHABLE ROCK BAND FOR HIS LOYAL FANS ON THE BIGGEST TOUR OF HIS 40 PLUS YEAR CAREER. HE WAS EXTREMELY PROUD OF THAT ACHIEVEMENT IN THE DAYS BEFORE HE PASSED. WE CONTINUE TO MOURN WITH YOU AND MARVEL AT TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS INCREDIBLE POSITIVE IMPACT ON MUSIC AND THE WORLD. AND WE THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT OVER THE LAST MONTHS. THANK YOU ALSO FOR RESPECTING THE MEMORY OF A MAN WHO WAS TRULY GREAT DURING HIS TIME ON THIS PLANET BOTH PUBLICLY AND PRIVATELY. WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD RESPECT THE PRIVACY OF THE ENTIRE HEARTBREAKER FAMILY DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. DANA PETTY AND ADRIA PETTY
  22. Yea, but guy that beat his gf, has drug issues, misses team events, suspensions, arrests, etc... long time fan but giving up hope guy that kneels during the anthem... could never ever get past that and despise him. Again, not even trying to make this right vs left or whether kaep is right or wrong... even assuming Kaep is ill intentioned, it just struck me as an odd line in the sand between them.
