They’ve been on a hell of a run since November 1. Monday night football, 2 Thursday games, beat the #2 seed, multiple heated rivals (Atlanta, Dallas, Carolina) and everyone’s treating them like the super bowl. Roll in some injuries to the line and wrs... I’d say a bye week and then a couple home playoff games with electricity in the air are a great place to get right. Also the defense has been ridiculous. I like drew to be able to score more than the 12 ppg they been giving up during this slump In 2009 they started 13-0, lost 3 and people freaked out

Its Christmas next week. It’s getting late in the year for if statements. Mr Claus made his list already and unless we find out one of the elves was his friend I think he’s getting coal this year. I do think he’s well positioned to shine next year.

Sainte have been giving up 12 points per game the last 6 weeks, are angling towards a bye and home field throughout. I like their odds of getting a few players healthy and win it.

Yup. theres always that initial thrill when the new guy does what the old guy couldn’t. From a statue to a mobile qb, or in this case a guy willing to push the ball after a very conservative qb. the guy up thread posting that it’s just exciting to see the ball in the air is emblematic of that. It was a win. He did some good stuff. He had limited help. But it was against a bad team too. And was still below average yards, completions, points, etc... hopefully we stack talent around him and he takes 3 big steps forward. He could easily go either direction but that’s truly a compliment to any rookie. Many bust fast. He’s still showing reasons to believe. The longer that goes on the better!

Bledsoe was traded to us. Pick up a first for a guy you think so low of that you actively sought to replace him a few years after a ring? Ravens might see it as a double benefit.

Right, but it seems that the conversation is more “franchise wr” than “1st read” i think most most of us can agree a randy moss and an Edelman are very different types and would have very different values in the league in their prime. Where do you draw the line between those? Full route trees, size, speed, hands, beat elite talent or doubles, can make plays without hof qb and great support, etc... Aj green is great in 32 cities. Larry fitz was fantastic on bad teams. Edelman I think struggles in many cities.

Basically. If you have 1 play to win the game, an average qb and a wr facing a good corner- who are you throwing to? Julio, brown, aj green, Odell not zay. Likely not even welker without brady. Moss? Yes. It’s kind of the same debate as franchise QBs. There are about 10-15 QBs that are legit “the guy.” A few debatable and then a lot of interchangeable guys from 25-70

Outside of specifically signing 4-5 league best guys and carrying a ton active on game day he’s been a train wreck his whole career. In a role like that youve got to get more out of less. You are churning bottom of the roster guys and have to get them up to speed fast and consistently. He’s terrible unless he has super established guys week in and week out that are not needing coaching

Fortunately we do have a ton to spend in free agency. If we can add 2 OL and a WR before the draft, that first round being BPA isn’t awful. It’s not a train wreck where we have “meh” talent across the board as much as having a few catastrophic spots. A few key pieces goes a long way next offseason.

I’d even argue next year is the year. 2 lineman, 2 or maybe 3 pass catchers (could be a TE) I’d prefer a vet lineman as practice rules slow development If they aren’t a 10 win type of team next year, this regime is going to need to explain some stuff.

No worries - I just think there’s a worth mention gap between instant head coach material and guy that might get rumored around an individual job by a lone reporter. Like if I post oldtimeaflguy might be considered that doesn’t thrust you to HC material. I doubt it goes far or stretches to other teams, but maybe. Still a lot of football left. I think you are likely overstating what his current status is. Someone could have him on their list but that doesn’t mean he’s suddenly the hot name out there also- offense. Anyone with any offensive success shoots up lists. That’s why some of us argue that you snag the offensive mind as HC and then you can get a great and steady dc

It’s a “don’t even crack the door on allowing confrontations with refs” situation. You may not like the ref here but players can’t think that’s remotely ok either is all
