  1. Min not sure that his volume of play is an endorsement of him as much as an indictment of others. I think hes he’s fine enough but don’t think anyone (coaches included) loves him.
  2. It wasn’t about how good he was but how bad the alternatives we had were and how easy it should’ve been to just keep him.
  3. Would your agency help out a bit with this “business expense”?
  4. I think you are overestimating his impact in the league because our fan base was overinvested in the results of WRs in that draft class. I also suspect that you are using casual fans online that are actually among the most invested fans even at the more casual tier of online posters. I think that the “watch most but not all games” type of casual fan of the browns, chargers or cardinals barely if at all had him on their radar.
  5. He was the 5th WR in his draft class, hasn’t had 1000 yards since his rookie year and baaaarely did that. In his last 3 years he had 1000 yards total combined and 3 teams. when was he a star of near household name recognition? He’s always been on the outside looking in when it comes to the top talent and a country mile from elite even at his peak. Im pretty sure like 6 posters see nfc south football with any regularity and we were all nervous but hopeful
  6. Not on every board.each team has their own risk/reward equations
  7. I kind of flip flop on roles vs redundancy. If a secondary is built to handle a speed guy and a possession guy, 2 speed guys can create some noteworthy mismatches, for instance
  8. I haven’t thought that about you either but you don’t see me making threads about it. Yeesh.
  9. Have you thought of “Seven”
  10. When you have about 30 guys getting regular roles when all are healthy, you almost always have about a 5-10 spots that are easily upgradable and another dozen that are coming up on a contract year or cap decision. Our needs include impact players at OL, RB, TE, WR, and DL. Odds are one of those will be BPA or essentially a tie, and if not, even taking a corner would have value.
  11. You never fail to double down on a bad take
  12. And id argue if you are drafting 1 and the best player is a qb odds are you should take him unless there’s a hell of an explanation for why your current qb took you to the worst record in the league
  13. How does that change this discussion?
  14. As opposed to the risk of lesser players not developing? Get the best talent in the draft and fill gaps via free agency.
  15. Take the corner. Rosters flip drastically in 2-3 years and I want the best player on the field in 2020 and 2021 and 2022. Not the guy that is less likely to succeed and will be forced into a higher pressure situation day 1. plus injuries. Come September who knows what the CB depth chart looks like. One injury to any of 3-4 guys and you’ve filled an immediate need too.
  16. I’m on board for BPA. If if they think there is a great corner vs an ok wr- go get that corner.
  17. Yea... he’s more important than Brady ::eye roll::
  18. Its 2/3 the cost of a qb for perspective. That’s not crazy from years past is it?
  19. If drafting current NFL players I’d get through quite a few DL before picking a TE too though
  20. I refuse to buy the tight ends are as valuable as receivers and offenses are being built around them narrative. John brown would be a top 5 paid tight end based on his salary. Is anyone talking about building an offense around him? Guys like Kelce are most effective when you have other weapons pulling the premiere coverage guys off them and they get stuck matches up against a LB. that isn’t building your offense around someone, that’s having an elite role player.
  21. You get a call for a big raise, you would talk to them.
  22. No one wants you ray ray. as a 6th rounder what did you do to improve your stock enough to be worth more despite a year less on your deal now?
  23. You like to get high don’t you
  24. To be fair, I’d argue it’s few and far between on guys that give their all. It’s shades of grey not black and white with effort
  25. Or maybe he had modest offers and thought he could play into a better one
