only major worry on Sammy is if he’s 150 yards and 2 TDs he’s still likely less than 50-50 with mahomes who also probably had a huge day (Now that I read page 2 and see the surface level was discussed) I think a San Fran WR, any back or even hardman as a kick returner comes with the perk of doing it without mahomes. yes and no. It gets a few guys coordinated on tasks they aren’t at their core always suited for. A couple big lineman running in space a back catching and all of them selling it it shouldn’t be insurmountable but kind of like man vs zone blocking some groups are just better suited for it

It seems they believe that lineman gets them better impact and their job is to win the game not make shady proud of himself.

im not sure he’s much better off with his arm but he’s always been more touch than hear and with Mike Thomas, kamara and cook he’s got one of the better short space trios in the league

it’s not even great passing. even with the benefit of misdirection he’s a 50% guy. And if you look at the playoff throw the only reason it wasn’t 7 was the throw being way off. Dude got wide open and ended up having to wait for the ball (and defender) to get to him.

it’s interesting as looking at OBJ, Sammy probably showed much more professionally. Even if good reputation Brandon cooks has been a handful since coming into the league. Probably about as talented a class as there could be but is mike Evans the good guy of the group? In the spectrum of personalities Sammy wasn’t half bad.

we absolutely do need to spend just not sure if the highest paid guard/center combo with him and Morse is the premium ROI for the dollars. I like a good interior line but seems we have options to save here and spend elsewhere

Meh. I always thought he would be as good or better than the last LB to make the roster or the pick received. Didn’t save money. id have been fine with him as depth and in “and short” packages. that said, not losing sleep over that one

He seems like a buffoon but the stuff I made fun of last offseason generally worked better than I expected. i still think it’s the wrong move, but I pause slightly before totally mocking it and will simply remain skeptical

if you reset and start taysom you are selling tickets while tanking. I can buy a more extended package for him but even as number 2 you end up having to cut his special teams and power running and he becomes a limited receiver with great athleticism that you can’t make full use of. if he’s just a utility player he’s at his most dangerous. Great for moving the chains with potential of explosive plays. As soon as he’s an every down qb (or could be one at a moments notice) he loses his use of what makes him special. would be interesting- as much as the athleticism is tough to duplicate, the mental side is fascinating and I think very rare. feels like I’m beating him up but amazing he sits in a qb room, special teams meetings, and the wr room. Not to mention running back packages. It’s amazing that he has the time in a week to keep up yet alone be impactful. just don’t think he has the arm talent to be every down

he is 7 of 15 in his career so far. So I see why you think that. he’s a fun piece and one of the more interesting free agent stories out there but he’s running a very limited route tree, and not a reliable passer. He’s a tank in short yardage. I’d be down to add him as a gadget but I can’t imagine anyone thinks he’s a true qb.
