  1. As long as he is happy and heavily involved. which he should be here for the foreseeable future
  2. this week we could’ve won with that 10 man offense and Gregg Williams trains his defense to injure quarterbacks I think is the concern. if it’s a big game against a tough opponent I think most are fine pulling out all the stops. But you don’t want him exposed on a throwaway play. He can Kyle Orton it against the jets. I mean, I’d hope in another game where we are overwhelming favorites we won’t expose him more. We need him healthy when we play the rams, raiders, titans and chiefs!
  3. Yea, I wouldn’t be using up too many hits in a game like this. sure, put a few plays on tape to stress defenses but especially against Gregg Williams I’m not calling his number too many times in a game we should win handily without it
  4. Let him work it out often they start shaky and play great for a second team. If you are going to take the learning curve you should wait to get the reward that goes with it.
  5. yea the 1st quarter of the 1st game is usually indicative
  6. there are a lot of comments I expected. this was not one of them.
  7. Is this where we share our own social just messages?
  8. barefoot and supplying food?
  9. sounds like his goal was fun and not transportation if he was doing donuts in the intersection
  10. I think 99% may be high unless you are talking about only the most blatant racism. Plenty of Americans are against racism but think it’s a thing of the past that’s totally over.
  11. came out of your way to point out that your made up news story would get more coverage but that a household name accused of a crime shouldn’t get coverage in the first place
  12. so this is a conversation under the umbrella of “defund the police” so.... 1) we agree, it’s less police funding. If the gear was scaled back, not eliminated, you could have the tools to police safely still. I think there’s a debate around whether more police would be killed or if police would have to use more conservative and less confrontational methods that may actually keep police safer in some situations too. We’ve seen the guys that make cowboy decisions just cause they can, not cause it’s best. 2) we are discussing defund the police, not defund the government or social systems. So, we agree. Shifting burdens out of the police department can be a great way to change structure and types of interactions. 3) no one implied they made the laws. Voting is a great way to change structures and require less policing. Obviously. really, your “but....” probably could’ve been skipped entirely
  13. but to go a step further, we can’t say the organization is a lock step monolith. the person or incident that one chooses as the face of their own representation of it often speaks more about the person than the group.
  14. having less militaristic gear would be cheaper having the police not handle near as broad a scope of issues and turning some of that over to other civic offices would be cheaper policing having police not worry about crimes like weed and prostitution would be cheaper
  15. you are going to attract all the guys from the PPP board that hate politics around their sports.
  16. Yup. really kicking off his career well.
  17. I say “In the corner” a bit in jest - but to stay 6ft from everyone consistently, it’s not a terrible characterization honestly. You’ve seen an nfl sideline, especially during national broadcasts? They are crowded and constantly buzzing. To follow your rule he’d have to be off on the side. and plenty of locales, especially major urban centers, are still in phases with non essential personnel being asked to work from home. A player ineligible to play seems to fit that. I get we like mongo, but I don’t think you’d be posting this for the Broncos 9th WR on the practice squad that lands on IR and wanted to hang out on the sideline. I wouldn’t be screaming about it being wrong if the nfl allowed the guys either honestly. They have a tough calculation to make, and this seems like an easy spot to tighten the policy this year. Such is life this year, you roll with it. but from a distance and masked. maybe they could sneak him in as the mascot?
  18. i get it and wasn’t trying to say you were out of line. Honestly mongo was the one super fired up. but if he’s stuck in the corner masked and always 6 ft away there’s no upside in having him and could only cause trouble in violating the rules. Going a step further id guess team executives and coaches were very ok if not uniformly on board with the rule and didn’t want to have more to police.
  19. the answer on the split: do you have a franchise qb or did you pay a guy that looked good propped up by an overstocked roster? if you have the qb you will see some updates and downs but generally be in the hunt always and a real contender when you string a few particularly good off seasons together.
  20. this year active and practice squad gets you to 69 players. Plus say another 10 IR once you are in the season? they will be carrying their largest rosters ever and need social distancing. I’m not going to the wall for the limitation as I haven’t measured every sideline in every stadium and done head counts on what’s needed in all the roles vs Max capacity... but it doesn’t get me fired up that injured players are being asked to stay away. I don’t think it’s a decision made with anything but good intention from people with far more data than you and I.
  21. There is very much the factor that a guy getting 13 per for 6 years is not getting “paid” relative to plenty of other positions. You look at contracts to Wrs and cbs this week and these backs were pretty modest a luxury guy in Sammy Watkins will be replaced by mecole hardman as a high pick with a couple years under his belt.
  22. I get them wanting to limit people uniformly on game days. Especially with some stadiums being a bit snug at facilities they are having to have plans to social distance etc.... it’s not ideal, but more bodies in tight quarters for hours on end is more risk and taking on that risk for a guy on IR May not be worth it. Plus you are rolling in refs, tv crews security and other non buffalo bill nfl partners into the discussion on Sunday. so where do you draw the line?
  23. burrow should Be worth the watch subbing in tyrod for an old rivers doesn’t sound terribly interesting
  24. I believe the announcement is the warning here. Whether it is heeded is up to you. If you don’t like the consequences, it’s up to you to decide how to push back. it is difficult to enforce the rules across crowds of people sometimes. Some will inevitably get away unseen and many acts will be hard to prove in a court of law even if arrested. I agree that a guy throwing a frozen water bottle should be arrested and prosecuted and subject to the legal system. Will they consistently be able to ID that person and convict him? Probably not as often as we’d like.
  25. Did you think just saying “but that’s PPP” would clear your history of rude and condescending posts? That you could come lecture others about decorum while posting trash like this? Tell us more about how you were naive to think bills fans were nice people, @westside2 its quite the game you tried to play
