  1. Unfortunately it was not just us! The New York media was already slamming the choice....
  2. I do not think the decision will be the Bill's to make. Where Marrone lands, Hackett goes.
  3. Sullivan....the same guy that reported that Sammy was bored in Buffalo when in fact Sammy was in Florida.. It is just a speculation piece. He likes to stir the pot and did.
  4. Hiring him in an advisory role like what was discussed with Polian might be a good idea. He does have experience and a positive track record. But not as a coach.
  5. I think there is a danger in focusing exclusively on a quarterback. No doubt he is the most important player but he is not the only player. I am not convinced that the best quarterback is always the first to be drafted. When you look at selections over the years that has proven not to be the case. If anything we need to look for a quarterback that can be developed. The jury is still out on EJ. We will have to see how he performs in practice and preseason next year.
  6. Totally agree. Especially after reading the article in the NY Daily News about Marone heading to the jets. "Marrone was hardly an offensive wizard in Buffalo. The Bills were 19th and 26th in total offense in his two seasons. They finished with a franchise-low rushing yards (for a 16-game season) and were 26th in yards per carry (3.7) in 2014. Marrone has never been a play caller in the NFL. Sean Payton assumed that role when Marrone was the Saints’ offensive coordinator from 2006-08. Nate Hackett, son of former Jets offensive coordinator Paul Hackett, was dialing up plays in Buffalo. Marrone spent much of his time coaching the offensive line in practice. Marrone has shown no ability to cultivate a quarterback, either. First-round pick EJ Manuel has been a bust. The Bills finished with a winning record on the strength of their defense. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is reportedly under contract through 2016.". If Marone winds up coaching the Jets and if he has the thin skin many have said, it will not be a good story....
  7. I am thrilled with this as well. It gives credence to the argument that Whaley is staying and that the Pugala likes him.
  8. Lesser men have crumbled as a result of that Raiders game. Welcome back to the fold...
  9. The issue is not just who wants Rivers but where Rivers and his family want to live. San Diego is their home. Rivers is a deeply spiritual man with strong faith and strong family ties. I just don't see him leaving San Diego for Buffalo no matter how much he is offered. Also, Rivers is not even available until after next year. Between now and then we need someone, be it EJ or ? to step it up...
  10. Not only no but hell no.... That is not to say he could not be an asset... he just comes with a lot of baggage.
  11. NEWS FLASH Richie Ingonito comes out of the closet... it's where he is living now .
  12. We have zip chances of pulling any significant first string QB talent from any other team in the NFL. I think the solution is to bring in as many QB's as you can and run them through the paces. The competition would be great for EJ as well. Many lesser QB's are just an opportunity away from developing into something great. Curt Warner is the best example of that. Underrated free agent at Green Bay, gets released and picked up by the Arena Football League eventually to wind up on the Rams. Jake Delhomme with the Panthers is another example. Then there is Doug Fluttie. No one wanted him. As far as candidates to look at; There was a rumor Philly was looking to trade Matt Barkley. Having seen him at USC, I have to say it is worth a shot to bring him in. Keep in mind he was in the running for the Heisman before he got hurt his senior year. I think we also need to take a serious look at Quarterbacks playing in the CFL such as Zach Collaros. Let's face it, if you play in the CFL, you have to have arm strength. Heck, I would even bring in Tebow for a try (not likely to work out I admit it).... Bottom line is that Bills need to put preconceptions aside and sift through the talent that is out there. Hopefully they can find a diamond in the rough someplace.
  13. There is little doubt. This is not about being an aggressive player. Its about being a bully... and punk..
  14. Not Cutler, please no no no. Anyone but Cutler. He was cut for a REASON.
  15. First, my hats off to you, great homework. Second, the only one I would even dream of going after is Kap. He is young and I believe his best years are ahead of him. With all the turmoil going on with the 49er's he might even be available.
  16. Keep in mind that the Raiders almost beat the Chargers in week 6, and have won two of their last four games. One against the Chiefs, one against the 49er's. There is never a cake walk in the NFL...
  17. Darn it you make me spit out my coffee from laughing!
  18. Bad calls happen, and I have never met a game official, regardless of sport, that does not regret making them. I think the issue is more about a coach who doesn't want his kids to suffer for a stupid thing he did. For the sake of all sports, I hope this lawsuit just gets thrown out by the judge...
