Yeah, I'm more irritated by the play call on 3rd down than the decision to punt on 4th. A sneak most likely gets us the inches we need, why we tried running to the outside there I have no idea. But you don't go for it on 4th and risk giving Tom Brady the ball at midfield unless it's like 2 minutes left.

How do you justify watching football?
Talley56 replied to formerharvardquarterback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is basically my thought. If they are willing to do it and play the game I don't mind watching it. They are putting their body at risk just like many of us who eat sugary, unhealthy foods which open us up to all kinds of potential health problems. -
Only if they have some belief that Geno can finally come through and become a quality starter should they start Geno. Fitz is still the better option than him.

After today I would add Chip Kelly as a very real possible firing.

Today's 1 PM Games Were Perfect...
Talley56 replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would have liked to have seen Atlanta hang on and beat Indy. Outside possibility that Houston could win that division and leave Indy as wildcard competition. Otherwise, yes, 1:00 games worked well for us. -
If Brady and the *Pats shred our D...

Rex should be in trouble long before Thurman if our defense goes south. He's supposed to be our great defensive mind. We got rid of a coordinator who did great with our defense last year just so he could implement his own defense. -
Doug Flutie Lost Both of His Parents this Morning

Prayers out to him and his family -
Might as well, what do they have to lose at 2-8? He either gets better with experience the rest of the season setting him up to become great next year and years to come (doubt this will happen) or he flops, they lose out, and they get a high draft pick where they can go after their next possible franchise QB.

Wild Card Race and Intel on Teams in the Hunt
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, along with this while I'd like us to get into the playoffs I'd also like to think we did it beating solid competition and not just by beating teams who were out of the race and just throwing their season away by the time the played us. On another note, it still wasn't that long ago that the Texans were mauled by the Dolphins who we handled twice this year. Granted they just beat a Bengals team who whipped us pretty good but I'm still not convinced that they are going to suddenly go on some run. The Redskins beat a much better Cowboys team in Dallas on a MNF game last year yet that didn't make them sudden playoff contenders. -
Yeah, I can't watch Patriots games. Even in the playoffs. Good for my blood pressure not to watch them.

Refs admit wrong call at end of Jax/Ravens
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So first the BS pass interference call against Robey on their game winning drive against us and then this. The refs cheating for the Jaguars now? -
We have seen this story of Fitz play out before...
Talley56 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still think Fitz is a solid QB and was when he was with us. Struggles had nothing to do with opposing teams figuring him out. I don't think people understand how horrid our defense was when he was our QB. During those few years we had one of the worst defenses ever to play the game of professional football and no that is not an exaggeration. It literally was incapable of stopping an opposing offense. Because of this Fitz was forced to score on almost every drive we had the ball. If he didn't we lost. And he had to do it with a mediocre WR group (Stevie was mediocre). Put Ben Roethlisberger, Phillip Rivers, and any other good QB in the league in a situation where they have to score on every drive because their own defense can't stop anything and they will struggle too. Just as bad. I think most people are just upset over the big contract he got. Blame the front office for that. -
Yeah, was going to mention this. He needs to know when to give up on a play and throw the ball away vs when there's still a chance to do something. But aside from this, he was solid.

Games we should/need to win, no excuse: Texans @Redskins Jets Games that will be a struggle but I really think we can win: @Chiefs @Eagles Dallas Only game we really don't stand much of a chance in: @Pats So the first 3, we need to win. Lose any one of those, and I don't see us going to the playoffs. Win all three of those, then it comes down to the middle 3. If we can at least go 2-1 in those games I think we're a playoff team. 1-2 in those games and it would be really tough to get in but still possible.

When you've missed the playoffs for 15 years...
Talley56 replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We beat a team who had a better record than us and who came within a TD of New England. And they had Fitz who is a decent QB. And now we have a winning record in mid-November. No good reason not to be happy about that. -
wow, 45 - 0 in favor of both our QB and RB situation. I wonder if anyone will take the leap and be the first to go against the grain there. Honestly, I could really understand someone taking Fitz over TT. Taylor has looked good, just like Fitz and even Trent did at one point. In order for him to be firmly ahead of Fitz though he needs to be consistent the entire year all the way through to the end and keep us playoff competitive. Despite our defensive struggles I still think our defense of today is better than any defenses we had when Fitz was our QB so I think that's a distinct advantage TT has working for him.

Third wildcard...when is that happening, if at all?
Talley56 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't know that they were definitely going to add 2 more teams but I'm in the same boat as those who do not want to add playoff teams. I think the set up right now is just fine and, as others have mentioned, I want the Bills to make the playoffs in this format, not simply get in because they added more teams. -
Andrew Luck to miss 2-6 weeks with lacerated kidney
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they can still win most of their games coming up. Atlanta has looked awful the past few weeks, Tampa has looked awful all year, and they always beat Houston. -
Yeah, agreed, I really thought that should have been a sack as well. If Suh had made any more of an effort to bring him down then he did he probably would have gotten penalized with today's rules. We got away with one there.

Do the Bills still go QB in round 1?
Talley56 replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually think he has a lot to do with this. He's proof that you don't reach for a QB just because you need one. You go after one if you really like him and are confident that he at least has potential to lead your franchise. -
I might go as far as to say the defense is simply not good. The Dolphins bailed us out with some mistakes like going for it on the last play before halftime. The defense is a big problem right now.

For as much as we complain about officiating when calls go against us I think it's only fair to point out that we got some big calls in our favor today. 1. Karlos Williams clearly fumbled the ball on his 2nd quarter TD run before the ball broke the plane. The endzone camera angle showed this. Should have been a touchback, Miami's ball. 2. Suh had Tyrod spun around just before the long TD pass to Sammy and it should have been registered as a sack. If it would have been called a sack as it should have been Miami would have declined the penalty, we would have punted, and that would have meant no TD pass to Sammy. At the end of the day a win is a win and I'm glad we won. I still think we deserved the win especially after the many times we've been hosed by bad calls in the past. But I think it needs to be pointed out that we got some breaks today.
