Very sad, RIP -

Despite it being another playoff-less season, there were definitely some things to enjoy reminiscing over. Week 1 whipping of the Colts, beating the Jets on the Thursday night game, etc.

Karlos Williams suspended 4 games for substance abuse
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I missing something? New England is our 4th game. -
Good, glad, as long as they lose at least 3 of those 4 games (hopefully their win isn't against us) it will all be worth it. I think the suspension is ridiculous but after 15 years of him tearing us apart with no real signs of slowing down any time soon I'll take anything. Even an unjustifiable suspension.

Topic of the day7/10: If you could change one NFL rule
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wish we could go back to allowing defenders to, well you know, defend. Contact to an extent should be allowed. No more ticky-tack illegal contact penalties. -
Topic of the day 7/5: Rivalries, do they matter?
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess it also depends on whether or not there's an actual rivlary. As much as I hate the Pats, it's hard for me to think of us and them as a rivalry when they've basically owned us over the last 15 years. But taking the Ravens/Steelers as an example, the Steelers were way better than the Ravens last year and should have crushed them. But the Ravens beat them near the end of the season and, had we not beaten the Jets one week later, that would have knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs. -
How the Ravens went from SB winner to afterthought

Especially when you then trade away said quarterback's favorite target (Boldin). -

What makes Chick Fil A great from my perspective isn't so much the food (though the food is good) but the service. It's always nice to have people go out of their way to be up beat and friendly when serving you. Unlike other fast food places, at least the ones around where I live, where you barely even get a greeting when you walk in.

Never been married and I don't plan on it so all I can give you is the well wishes. Wish you the best and congrats.

Two days that I don't really see too many Bills fans talk about: 11/30/2008 and 11/20/2011. 2008 and 2011 were two seasons where we showed hope throughout the first half of the season only to choke down the stretch. 11/30/2008 we lost 10-3 at home to a bad 49ers team and 11/30/2011 we were smoked 35-8 by the Dolphins only 2 weeks after they won their first game of the season. In both seasons we lost a number of games throughout the 2nd half of the season it was just that these were the two games that IMO really stuck as games that were very telling that we were crapping away seasons which once seemed so promising.

Crazy, both him and Pat Summitt in the same day. RIP to both of them.

I tend to agree with this Bills related - Only because I wanted them to make the playoffs over the Steelers, I was hoping the Jets would beat us in week 17 last year. Non-Bills related - I like the 2 week break between championship games and superbowl. Non-football related - Spam, the meat not the unwanted e-mails, is delicious.

Here it s, and they put Detroit way too high IMO. I get the Lions are a perennial disappointment but the Red Wings and Pistons of the 80s should more than make up for that. http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/06/sad-depressing-miserable-sports-cities-2016-ranking

I thought he already showed a weakness with inconsistency last year. It seemed like he would disappear for long stretches of games. IMO, he completely cost us the MNF game against New England. Defense did relatively well keeping Brady from blowing up like he usually does against us but Tyrod missed a number of throws in that game that I believe could have made a difference.

Agree 100%. Hope he gets better. -
Are the Bills really in "Win Now" mode?
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tend to agree with this. I would say probably front office is in development mode all the time and players are in win now mode all the time. I recall the year the Colts "sucked for Luck" they upset a significantly better Texans team late in the season in a win that nearly cost them the #1 pick for Andrew Luck. I don't believe for one second they were thinking of throwing that game to make sure they end up with the 1st pick. -
Bills related Time Travel - What would you change?
Talley56 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess this isn't necessarily the Bills but it would have helped the Bills. I would go back and convince the Vikings not to make the trade for Herschel Walker. That way the Cowboys don't become as overwhelmingly talented as they did and we win those last 2 Superbowls. -
Not everyone at ESPN is pessimistic about the Bills...
Talley56 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In most of these cases it was basically the beginning to a great career for the winning QB. Would be great for this to happen to us. -
I feel like it would be worse to be a Browns fan than a Bills fan. Yeah, their playoff drought is a few years younger than ours but at least we had the 90s. They have basically sucked since the Reagan years and there's no sign that this will change any time soon. How painful it will be for them if Wentz turns out to be a legend.

I honestly think, given the teams they are playing in the first 4 weeks, the W/L won't change a whole lot. They probably lose to Arizona in week 1 but there's a good chance they would have lost that game even with Brady. I think they still beat Miami and Houston. Those games are probably a little closer without Brady but I still think they win. Our game is a toss-up. This may open the door for us but the point is I don't think it makes as much of a difference to New England's final record as others are anticipating.
