  1. Maybe we can hope for an early season Buffalo cold front? Might put a team from Arizona at a disadvantage? Not that it means anything for this game but Carson Palmer has never beaten the Bills. If our defense improves as much as people say it can (which I'm still very skeptical about) I think we might stand a better chance at this game than people think.
  2. It sounds like some expect us to win at Baltimore with perhaps relative ease. I think that's a dangerous assumption. It's rare that the Ravens follow one bad year up with another. Keep in mind, week 1 last year they went into Denver and came within a few yards of the winning touchdown. Only lost by 6. Then the injuries piled up and I think that contributed to their downfall the rest of the year. They'll be healthy again week 1.
  3. Descent coach, lucky to have had Brady. He failed in Cleveland not too long after Marty Schottenheimer made them perennial contenders. His first year in NE sans Brady ended in 5-11. Next year they begin 0-2 before Brady steps in and that is when he finally starts becoming a winning coach. 2008 Brady goes down and they miss the playoffs losing to a Dolphins team that went 1-15 the year before. Brady has made him look better than he really is.
  4. Now we'll see how good he really is
  5. Agreed, I want the Bills to be good but not at the expense of someone's well-being.
  6. RIP, such a shame to see him go. Tough to see Hannah Storm announce his death through tears just like she had to do for Stuart Scott.
  7. As a Marylander, this is pretty great. Seeing as how both Phelps and Ledecky are from here I guess it makes sense: West Wing Reports Verified account ‏@WestWingReport 19h19 hours ago Maryland has 50% of all U.S. Olympic gold medals - and more than every country except China #Ledecky #Phelps
  8. Just finished watching the men's 4X100 relay. That was exciting. That and Katie Ledecky earlier.
  9. Love the Olympics. Been watching most of the day. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks.
  10. Now that Ray Guy is in Tasker better get in.
  11. Great commentary on the OP. Spot on as far as what many of the last 16 seasons have been like. Seems like there is a lot of optimism for this season but there was a lot of optimism last season. It was almost a foregone conclusion in many people's minds that last year would be the year we'd make the playoffs. I think I'll wait until after the third preseason game to give my picks for this year.
  12. Yeah, sounds right. And it would be great to see him put up those numbers
  13. So, McCoy, Darby, and Graham among others have been mentioned as being below expectations but you all have a problem with me suggesting Sammy might be? I hope I'm wrong but I just don't think he will meet expectations. Again, the question is who will be below expectation, not who will stink this year. As the expectation seems to be that Sammy will be an elite receiver I just don't think he'll reach that level.
  14. Above: Darby - I see a lot of people thinking he'll disappoint but I think the opposite. I think he'll excel to the status of say Marcus Peters Below: Sammy - Yeap, unfortunately, I just haven't seen the elite status receiver out of him that one would expect out of a #4 pick
  15. Pretty sure it is. Though maybe not as widespread as I was thinking.
  16. I wonder if Rita's counts as fast food. It's fast, it's food, don't see why it wouldn't. Cause man that custard is so freaking good.
  17. I was just thinking about how this will be the final weekend with no football games of any kind (pre, regular, post seasons) until February. Looking forward to it.
  18. Finished last night. I really liked it and I'm not typically a fan of these types of shows. This must be true as I also didn't see the Goonies until my adult years and I didn't think it was anything special either
  19. I seem to remember a couple of years ago Brian Hoyer was a half-year wonder. He actually had the Browns playing some descent football for the first half of a season until they remembered they were the Browns and completely fell apart the rest of the year. Hoyer followed, falling apart himself, and it showed when he played horribly in the playoff game with the Texans last year.
  20. I would say 49ers because I liked what I saw out of Gabbert last year.
  21. I see it's already been recommended but I'll throw in Jessica Jones as well because I was amazed at how good season 1 was. I personally thought it was better than Daredevil.
  22. I would have liked to have seen this about 20 years ago. As a Bills fan who didn't live in the Buffalo area I seem to recall people didn't really care for the Bills during the good years. Not sure if it was because people were sick of us getting to the SB and losing every year or the party reputation of the team but I took a lot of heat for being a Bills fan back then as opposed to the sympathy I get now a days. Biggest surprise IMO: I would have expected the Steelers to be more likable as they seem to have a large fanbase and, with the exception of Ravens fans, I don't see a lot of hate from non-Steelers fans.
  23. Agreed, I'll do the same if I see him take on a defender instead of sliding after he already has a first down.
  24. If you're going on the assumption that we wouldn't stand a chance against NE then yeah, I guess, but if we were to play them and beat them that would be epic. Might even jump ahead of the comeback game in my mind.
