What is your biggest concern going into the Miami game?
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say penalties but I would like to take that a step further and say penalties that erase big plays. -
Seahawks started the season at St Louis (where they always struggle) and at Green Bay and actually came very close in both games. They'll be fine.

Is everyone happy Brady got to play us?
Talley56 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will take a win however I can get it. Over Brady, over Garoppolo, whoever. Suspensions are just as much a part of the game as playmaking, or injuries, or being lucky enough to see the QB you drafted at #199 turn into a legend. -
Do you feel different about the Colts win?
Talley56 replied to Stads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't feel too different. For one thing, I felt, even before that game, the Colts way over-achieved last year. A lot really broke their way to get to the championship game (winning a soft division, getting the playoff choking Bengals in the first playoff game then the Broncos when Peyton was hurt and clearly not his usual self). The championship game annihilation to NE spoke volumes (NE was great but even the Ravens and Seahawks at least found a way to compete with them). The Colts are awful outside of Andrew Luck so if you can find a way to contain him you can dominate them (I recall a very mediocre Rams team destroying them a few years back). Also, I felt like we could have really blown them out worse than we did. After we went up 24-0 we clearly played off defensively. -
"Whoa, I can see the score of the Bengals game. Weird"

You can rip him, say that he sucks, blah blah, but there's one thing you can't take away from him. He is the only Buffalo QB aside from Drew Bledsoe who went toe to toe with Brady and beat him (of course not counting Kyle Orton's win over Brady when he didn't care in week 17 last year).

As a strong supporter of Schwartz I will say in defense of the current defense, at least when it comes to points given up, they were put in tough positions on the 2nd and 3rd TDs scored by NE. They started from our 13 on one drive and our 30 on the next. I don't care how good a defense is, no one is stopping Brady when he keeps getting great field position like that. But the number of yards is troubling.

He really was not good until the 4th quarter today. He had a number of opportunities where he had time to throw and either didn't find any receivers to throw to or throw the ball away. But these things are to be expected from QBs who are only on their 2nd start ever especially when they are asked to go toe-to-toe with one of the best QBs of all time and beat him with a team who has rarely ever beaten said QB. We won't know how good he is until later in the season.

Most Important Improvements from Last Season
Talley56 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed on #1 but could not disagree more strongly about #2. Schwartz utilized the talent wonderfully last year. If he had been only OK then there's no way we would have shut down Aaron Rodgers or gone into Detroit and won. Rex utilizes the talent well but it's a continuation, not an improvement, on Schwartz's D last year. -
Polian Says "Colts Had a 1st Round Grade on Brady"

Pats Fan Nervous to come to the Ralph
Talley56 replied to JP's Voice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was proud to be a Bills fan a couple of years back when I saw a Patriots fan and his son sitting a few rows down from me and a Bills fan near by politely warned him that they would be yelling and cursing a lot in front of his son. Thought it was a friendly gesture to let him know instead of just going up to his face and being a jerk. This was a few rows up in the endzone under the jumbotron. I haven't been to enough games to know if that's supposed to be a friendlier or typically more hostile area. -
Very true but Tennessee's offense was pretty bad last year with Mariota being the only real notable difference this year. But I agree, we won't know for sure until he's played more this season.

Texans already moving to Mallett as starter
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll admit I had higher hopes for Hoyer. He had absolutely NOTHING to work with in Cleveland and actually won some impressive games last year (Steelers, Bengals). I'm not expecting Mallett to do any better. -
or maybe because Karlos Williams looked better than expected on Sunday?

Shades of Mckelvin's fumble -
I like the fact that Tyrod didn't feel the need to force it to Sammy. The one time he did he almost threw a game-changing interception. I hope he learns his lesson from that.

Where Does This Win Rank?
Talley56 replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we have a big year then I would say this is up there. But if we flop and don't make the playoffs or do anything this year then this is nothing more than maybe a nice win. I will say that this win had a different feel to it. I felt like up until we took the 24-0 lead and our defense played off on the next drive we had them completely over-matched. BTW, Rex became the first ever Bills coach to win his 1st game. Previously Bills coaches were 0-17 in their 1st game as Bills head coach. -
did the NFL make new rules or did the refs make them up?
Talley56 replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This^^ there were awful calls but that phantom facemask was horrible. What made it worse was not only was there no facemask found on the replay on us but Hughes was clearly held and that didn't get called. Practically gave them one of their touchdowns. -
Brian Hoyer will be a top 10 QB Peyton Manning will have a better year than Tom Brady and Andrew Luck

5 Reasons why College Football is better than the NFL
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. College football isn't just a quarterback sport. This! This! And more this! It gets irritating seeing teams like, well, Buffalo struggle for years to get competitive because we can't seems to find that right QB only to see a team like the Colts get the first pick in a year when a rare sure-fire QB comes out. Now only because of that one QB pick they are SB contenders while we are still fighting to become relevant. -

PFF ranks Taylor #32 starting QB
Talley56 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he a Ravens fan? They seem to have it in for Matt Ryan with the comparisons to Flacco since they came out in the same draft and how because Flacco won a superbowl he's automatically better than Ryan blah blah.
