Anyone ever sprain their knee?

Make the time to go to a Doctor. If you have a deductible policy you can proably go to a specialist without a referral. -
NFL loses another great player from the 1980's
Steve O replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly this is just about the average age NFL players die. http://www.nowpublic.com/sports/average-lifespan-football-player-52 -
Looked through the list a second time, interesting, 2 first round and 3 second round selections at the most important position (qb), compared to 10 first round and 6 second round selections at arguably the most replaceable position (rb). Helps explain 5 decades of fan frustration...

From what I saw only three in the second round...Collins, Koefler, and Shaw.

Songs that Affected You on an Emotional Level
Steve O replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
[ The Star Spangled Banner when sung 'properly' brings a tear to my eyes. One of the Bills home games, not sure who the sang it but it literally sent chills up my spine. Mentioned this to the folks around me and most agreed. -

Know just how you feel, though I try to be just a little more diplomatic about it. That being said, if everyone expressed themselves with your lack of diplomacy it might actually help bring some of these jobs back to the US. Better to pay someone $8 an hour and portray a positive company image then $3 an hour to upset a prospective customer. -

Anyone know why coast guard flag is at half staff?
Steve O replied to Steve O's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's probably it...think they stay lowered for a month. Thanks -
Live next to the coast guard station, flag was at half staff yesterday and again today. President's day for flying flag at half staff is third Monday in February so it isn't that. Only thing I can think of is Reagan's 100th birthday but the rules are pretty specific for flying flags at half staff, if that is it would think it would be a one day thing. Anyone know? http://www.gettysburgflag.com/flyflaghalfmast.php

Does anyone even know if he likes football? Just googled his name, looked through about 5 of the results - lots on hockey and energy, didn't even see the word football mentioned. -
Saw him and his wife with on a talk show a few (possibly several) years ago...said they had sex almost every nite, almost on Monday, almost on Tuesday, almost on Wednesday Also he was a chiropractor

Those like myself who learned to type on a typewriter learned double spacing because a typewriter uses what is called monospaced fonts, meaning all letters/spaces use the same amount of space. Therefore it made sense to use more space between sentences. Computers use proportioal spacing, so for instance an "i" uses less space then an "s". The "space" bar uses more then (I think) anything else. So while it is now widely accepted that single spacing is correct, I for one missed the memo and continue to double space between sentences. http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/spaces-period-end-of-sentence.aspx

According to wikki, award goes to a player who "shows perseverance in overcoming adversity, in the form of not being in the NFL the previous year, a severe injury, or simply poor performance." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League_Comeback_Player_of_the_Year_Award Vick fits the bill for adversity.

All I can say about chugging beer or doing shots is learn to enjoy the journey, don't be in a hurry to get to the destination. -

Maybe he was never the same, but he sure did get his revenge on the Bills...in one of (or perhaps the) final games of 2006 he ran for 135 while with the Titans, then ran for 139 and had 44 receiving yards in the 2007 opener while with the Brocos. Both games at the Ralph, both one point losses.

Find a time that works best with your body. If you're not a morning person, don't start going to the gym before work, might be ok for a couple weeks but it won't last. Personally my mind works best in the morning, my body a little later. I go in to work around 6:30-7, take a 2 hour lunch and work out, leave between 5-5:30. As others have said, don't overdue at first. For weights start with 1 set the first couple times, then 2 sets a couple times, finally you can start doing 3 sets. Start light, should be able to do 17-20 reps. This builds the smaller muscles which lets you work into the bigger muscles...kind of like building a fire, start with kindlig, then put bigger logs on after you have a good base. For most rapidly approaching middle aged men you want to get to a point where your 3 sets consists of 12-10-8 reps with a one minute break in between Cardio is probably the most important thing. Not sure how out of shape you are, check with your doctor. You'll have good days and not so good, listen to your body. If your target is say to jog 2 miles and you feel great, do a third. If you're beat after 1 mile, call it quits for the day and have a better day tomorrow. Make this a part of your life. I would no more go on vacation without a plan for how I'm going to work out then I would without a plan on brushing my teeth. Beginning with 3-4 days a week might be a start but eventually you shouldn't be taking more then 1-2 days a week off, especially from cardio. ONCE AGAIN, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE BEGINNING ANY EXERCISE ROUTINE.
