  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2775868 Much better description than my attempt
  2. Started with a cheap shot on drury - no penalty. After ensuing faceoff and play resumed all h@## broke loose as the sabres tried to get even. Biron and Emery got into it, both ejected. Two penalties to the Sabres, one 4 minute one two. Plus both goalies ejected. Sabres killed the 5 on 3 but gave up a goal on the 5 on 4. Anyways it's sure to be on sports center, pretty obvious I'll never do play by play (or blow by blow)
  3. A lot mor. Bothe punches being thrown than you'll see in the Mesi fight! Holy @#$%
  4. Marv never made a move in the first round, stood pat every year. (The Bennet deal was consumated after the draft haloween nite i believe. Marv was dead set against it. Glad he lost the argument!)
  5. Exactly. Not that I'm crazy about the idea of losing him, but he's not the guy we should overpay for.
  6. http://gobuffsgo.cstv.com/sports/m-golf/sp.../121806aaa.html He still will be assistant Football coach.
  7. It would have been more accurate to say the Bills under Levy had success with o-lineman early. Brown, Wolford and Fina were first round draft picks during the Levy regime. Richter was also a first round pick. Drafted before Levy was in Buffalo, but was a big part of the turn around in the late 80's. So it isn't so far fetched an idea that Marv would go after a lineman early.
  8. Plays for, or more accurately is on the roster of Jacksonville. Was injured most of the year - sound famaliar?

  10. Before the 2004 draft Jaworski predicted Losman would be the best QB to come out of that draft so he has a bit of a vested interest in his prediction.
  11. Freeney's play fell off a little this year, don't think he had a sack until the Bills game. 5-1/2 for the year now. Likely his salary will be out of line with his productivity. Wouldn't be pretty if we paid him big FA dollars and he went the first half season without a sack.
  12. Told you all I wanted for Christmas was a bike... Never got the bike, please let the Bills make the playoffs!
  13. Didn't mention today's game or mention the Bills as a possible wild card team. Itiots!
  14. OK, if you're coming from points east here is the best place to park period. I come from Rochester. Actually party at the Hammer lot and sometimes park there if I plan to stay after the game. If I want to go home after, this is where to park and is also a decent place to party: 90 east to exit 48A take 77s (right after exit) to 20A east (NOT 20). This is a flashihg light. 20A east to Orchard Park. In Orchard Park there is a traffic light (could be the first) with route 178 - take right. 2nd left is Taylor (general Taylor, private taylor, something taylor) - take left. Continue on as it bears around to the right through the underpass. First left past the underpass is Ellis. Take Ellis to the end - California. Park at second lot on left. $10. Takes 1 hour 45 min to make this trip from Rochester at 3 AM, but leaving a Bills game it takes the same time. Extra 15 miles but it is worth the distance to avoid the traffic after the game. Big down hill and uphill climb from the lot to the game, probably 10 minutes, never timed it. At any rate if you want an easy out to points east after the game this is where you want to park. Oh yeah, reverse these directions on your return.
  15. On another note: I think Texas Stadium and the Ralph have the biggest "crowns" to their fields also...?? 800341[/snapback] The Ralph used to have the biggest crown before it was redone, with the new carpet I believe. Think it went from 18 inches to 9,not sure though .
  16. Nick Mike-Meyer was the kicker we kept over Anderson in 82.
  17. Marv has a history of not trading up or down? Remember Cornellius Bennett? Gave up 2 firsts, a second, and Gregg Bell (another first) for him. Seems to me if Marv really wants someone, he will get him! After this "blockbuster" trade there really was no reason to trade up or down. Bills impact players were set, really only needed to fine tune. Our scouts did a great job of finding need and even impact players in later rounds. If offensive line was the only need, Marv would find a way to get D'brick. Just that with our apparent need on the defensive line as well, it probably isn't worth what would have to be given up to move into the top 5.
  18. How Marv feels about it should be obvious based on his previous tenure. Bottom line is you need to taylor your defense to your talent. The talent in Marv's previous tenure always seemed to favor a 3-4. Helps having Bruce as one of the 3 and Biscuit as one of the 4. Very few teams played the 3-4 at the time which gave teams another twist to prepare for. As you point out that isn't necessarily the case any more. Whatever changes are made, shouldn't be to tough to improve '05!!
  19. To an extent I agree, you wouldn't taylor the same exercise routine to Roscoe Parrish and Mike Williams. If you do one or both are going to get injured. I'm just saying following the routine is up to the individual. If the S/C coach has you on a high protien / fiber diet and you you eat pizza and wings at home can't blame the coach. Same is true for working out. Its hard work to stay in shape. If coach has given you an off season routine of cardio 5 days a week and weight lifting 4, and you do cardio 3 days a week and lift 2, you won't realize your potential. This has largely been the case with big Mike IMO.
  20. Have to agree, probably in the minority here but count me amongst those that believe that the great teams of Marv's era were in spite of him, not because of him. Polian was the real genius in getting so many talented players. JB did a good job retaining them.
  21. IMO the main problem with MW's injuries is that he is too heavy for his legs to support the demands of the game. If he can get in shape/lose weight I think he can still be a force. The motivation for this has to come from within, not from Marv or anyone else. This off season is critical, Mike has to be the one to decide if he wants to turn his career around.
  22. The good thing about having so many holes to fill is having options. If 3 of these guys are available and you can find a team willing to make a deal within the next 5 picks, roll the dice and trade down hoping 1 will still be there when you pick (especially if you only trade down 3 spots). If only 1 (or 2) of these guys is left, run don't walk to the podium and take him!
  23. Does anyone know of players that have come back successfully from Spikes type of injury? The only player I can think of who had this type of injury is Marino and he was never the same after it. In spite of the heartbreak of of the Patriots, Panthers, and Dolphins losses I'm really quite encouraged about the prospects for next year. The team has played well but always found a way to lose. While Losman is still making mistakes he has vastly improved from the beginning of the year and at least seems to be learning from his mistakes. At least he doesn't look lost anymore. With Houston's third round pick we'll have 4 picks in the top 75 (give or take) and get Takeo back. Just not sure if he will be the same.
