  1. I was perfectly fine with everything and could explain every move in my head up until the Jonathan Williams cut. Unless there's some suspension looming or other other bad behavior that we haven't heard about yet, that one makes no sense. While by no means a superstar yet, he looked like he would slide right in and make us all forget about Gilislee's contribution the last two years to the #1 running attack in the league. If he looked good enough, he could have made Shady expendable next year and be the #1.... and then they just cut him??? It just doesn't make sense in my head? Low salary, young and looking damn good?!?
  2. and to think I was going to reply to this thread this morning for its stupidity.... sorry Nostradamus!
  3. No mention of Jonathan Williams? I guess that means he's arrived! I can't even recall who was the back-up last year anymore...
  4. He's not speaking out about the Bills, the NFL or the country. He's peacefully protesting an injustice in this country. You can love this country and still acknowledge certain injustices. He's not doing anything wrong...
  5. Thank you! He's allowed to protest in any non-violent way he chooses.... its called being American. OP, take your support to the Patriots....
  6. Didn't they just extend Eric Woods?
  7. I'm too lazy to do the analysis, but would love to see a same analysis for teams that traded up to get a "top QB". Doesn't have to be just #1, maybe top 3? This is Rams going to get Goff, Redskins trade-up to get Griffin and I know there's others. So these are teams that gave up huge draft collateral to get that one supposed savior. That's my biggest fear with this accumulation of draft picks. Having a bad season, picking #6-10 and they give up all the draft picks they accumulated to get up to #1 or #2.... #NeverDoThat UPDATE,... here's the analysis on Buffalo Rumblings Here are the guys teams traded a boatload to go up and get over the last 20 years: Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Robert Griffin, Blaine Gabbert, Mark Sanchez, Michael Vick and Ryan Leaf So Goff and Wentz are undecided yet, but the rest is a 20% hit rate, plus a hugh loss of draft picks... and none of these teams improved. Unclear how good Vick could have made Falcons if he didn't derail his career.
  8. Uh,.... its a fair topic, there's been endless discussion on this board with several posters advocating for it, some sportswriter have brought it up, national media has as well... and most don't think Anquan Boldin would have retired to pursue social good if he had just signed a 1 yr w/ a top contender.
  9. All of this tank talk is beyond tiresome. I've posted this in other threads, but nobody's responded, so I'll try it here. Beyond the OP's correct viewpoint, there would be several problems with any tanking related effort. I get the two trades thus far.... unclear how healthy Sammy really is and whether he could be re-signed at the end of the year. By the articles I've read, Darby wasn't a fit nor buying into the new system. If those are the reasons to move them then that's fine. To run a fire sale during training camp just before the season starts is simply not possible. Any further trades of star players would be a more blatant communication of an intention to tank than even anything the Sabres did. Tyrod is under long-term contract and was just in the pro-bowl, dumping him to play a 5th round rookie would be the ultimate disrespect to fans and the players that remain. And trading Shady completely neutralizes the offense. How do you explain that to guys like Kyle Williams or Lorenzo or Ritchie? The coach and front office would lose the locker room. Particularly after Shady's interview this week telling reporters that FO was honest. The team would be playing in front of low crowds and have no team unity, getting destroyed on talk radio every day. I'm not sure if there's a punishment the league could put on a team for practically deliberately trying to lose? The NFL could try to do that for conduct detrimental to the league, just as they took draft picks away from the Patriots. At least they did what they did trying win! And how do you justify these actions to any player that got hurt with either a season or career ending injury, while you're tanking?? Players are being diagnosed w/ CTE and having life threatening repercussions from putting it all on the line playing football... to tank?? What player would ever want to play for a FO that did that? The careers of football players are shorter and more fragile than any other sport. I don't think the Front Office would recover from doing a move like that. Furthermore, people from Buffalo endlessly talk about how the city is disrespected far and wide. What would be the reaction to BOTH sports teams in the city, having worked to deliberately lose in the eyes of sports fans across the country? The Pegulas would be branded as owners for allowing it to happen to both of their teams. Can we STOP the tank talk??
  10. One more,... which is four more than we need!
  11. So says official Madden 2018 official simulation of the upcoming season! Shady will rush for over 1,600 years and will finish #7 in the MVP voting... totally awesome! And those of you bogged downing the multiple QB threads, all saying the same thing, both TT and Peterman play substantially and have nearly identical stats. Tyrod Taylor had 2,069 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. Nate Peterman had 2,051 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.... so all have a celebratory drink(s) this weekend!
  12. OP is correctly figuring that Holmes, DE Davis and OG Ducasse will be cut in order for Bills to gain a 3rd round compensatory pick. Some of them could be re-signed after week 1, possibly.... but they'll be cuts on the final roster to get the pick
  13. This is now the 2nd thread on this topic, so I'll make the same point I made in the other. There would be several problems with this scenario. It would be an even more blatant communication of an intention to tank than even anything the Sabres did. At that point you also have to try to trade Shady. I'm not sure if there's a punishment the league could put on a team for practically deliberately trying to lose. 15. Why does it blow your mind when you look at that list above? I don't have any problem with accumulating draft pics, no problem even picking a QB in the first round if that's who they think is best. I have EVERY problem with trading a King's ransom of picks to move up to the top 5 in a draft to take a QB. Its such a crapshoot...
  16. I agree with you wholeheartedly... however, I think there was just so much buffoonery w/ Rex that they had to change. Going back to something close to previous 4-3 scheme was simply necessary. They had a top 5 D.
  17. I think CK would be good complement to TT's style if he went down. Clearly Yates was awful and if he's the same next week then I would strongly consider it. Honestly, this had gotten ridiculous... the guy can protest an issue that's important to him any relevant, non-violent way he wants to in order to call attention to it. Everyone doesn't have to agree with his approach, but there's no reason to black-ball him for it.
  18. Exactly... there are too many lessons of QB busts at all draft positions to argue this. John Elway can mess up just as easily as Whaley and for the same reasons...... wait for it..... NOBODY KNOWS! Nobody knows,... that's why Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson and Tom Brady weren't drafted higher and too many top 10 QB picks flamed out. Lets stop blaming GMs for whiffing in QBs... with the exception of the Browns picking Johnny Manziel. But didn't Haslim force Manziel on his front office? QB is the hardest position in all sports to line up the draft slot with the probability of the talent reaping the ultimate reward.
  19. I'm happy they signed Boldin,... but would rather have had Maclin for 2 yrs
  20. Well this puts to rest any thoughts ppl have had that they're tanking so they can use their additional #1 for a QB next draft.... thank God!! I'm sick of that topic.
  21. I'm sure his sister is Sri Lanka Jones....
  22. Another messed up thought... maybe our RTs are fine and its just Shaq Lawson being such a mega-stud that he's in the first year of a HOF career??
  23. Maybe he just got a tattoo??
  24. we would have to be drafting top 5 for a first round QB.... I don't think any of us want to endure a season that gets us to that
