  1. Allen is slow, but has still done a decent job getting open. But def want Slayton as my top WR target.
  2. I'm fine getting him. He's a good player. But we still need that defense-scaring WR1. I think that could be Slayton and K. Allen combo.
  3. not worried about older college players. It's more common now, and if it's the right guy, no worries. I think an older guy may be able to step in right away (Bo Nix). Given our need at CB and DT for an "instant" player, I'd have no problem with Porter or Alexander in the 2/3rd.
  4. He was an expensive Guard, and they already have 2 studs on that OL. So it's like others said, asset allocation. Likely they will draft OL at 31 or 2nd, and grab a FA. I don't think this hurts them as much as we all hope it does. That money will go to extending Bolton and others (H. Brown).
  5. I think McCord instantly is an upgrade at backup QB for us. I think he is a sneaky pick that someone will take in the 2nd. I think it's Ward, Sanders, Dart, then McCord.
  6. today's morning draft. Interesting taking a LB in the first round, but he was the clear BPA when the pick was up. Really happy with the whole draft, and think the first 4-5 are clear 1st year contributors.
  7. I like Dart the most as a QB after Ward. Then McCoy. I think Dart could be a steal in the 2nd or some team may try to trade back into the 1st even.
  8. these are good points. If he is not at his ceiling he could become Kamara. I’m not sure about his post contract motivation, guess it’s an unfair worry based on how his brother fell off a cliff. If the Bills think he can be a 3 down back I have no worries signing him. But right now Johnson may be as valuable given his value at converting 3rd downs. Will be interesting to see what happens.
  9. Garrett. PFFs number 1 player last year, our biggest need, instantly helps fix the entire D. There is no DE in the draft that looks year 1 ready, and we are in win-now mode. After Garrett, Crosby. I think we can fill DTs and secondary in the draft and secondary with 2nd tier FAs. i'm not sure these guys qualify as "elite" but they are almost there, at WR: K. Allen and Slayton.
  10. agreed. It took Cook 2 years to become Cook, and he's still not a 3 down back. While he was more physical and elusive this year, I'm not sure he's worth over 12/year. I'm also not sure with his attitude he keeps playing hard after being paid. Davis also Johnson also looked great behind this OL. I'd rather keep Johnson and draft a RB and include Cook in a trade for Garrett.
  11. Here is today's mock from PFN: I love the first three picks. We get 2 athletic DTs, and a fast, good route running WR to stretch the field. Swinson looks like an ascending Edge, Bowman looks like a good fit at safety. Later DT picks Mills and Stackhouse provide depth. Nick Nash comes in as a big/fast WR who I think is underrated now. TE Corners is the 3rd TE if Morris is gone. D. Sampson provides great RB depth/Cook replacement if Cook is traded, which may be necessary to get Garrett. I think Grant may be the 1 tech exception for the Bills. The dude is super athletic and also offers pass rushing ability. He's a total wrecker. I view it as you get an elite 1 tech with some pass rush, and totally free up Oliver. Basically getting a 1T and 3T in one due to freeing up Oliver.
  12. not sure about the money, but I'd go Slayton and K. Allen both over one D. Adams.
  13. Thanks, appreciate the insight! Thoughts on Skattabo as potential Cook replacement? Not saying I want to get rid of Cook, I don't think anyone does. But I'd be inclined to trade him as part of a Garrett package.
  14. this draft assumes that Cook is not here next year. Not sure the RB I got is an adequate replacement or not. I feel like some of these picks are steals (Bond in the 4th, Jay Higgins in the 6th). Mukuba and Collins both in the 2nd is amazing.
  15. wouldn’t mind trading up in 2nd for him.
  16. Greg R and Basham are products of Bean position hunting and not going BPA. 2 pro bowl centers were available. Given their impacts (or lack there of) they were over drafted. Also passing on JOC was erroneous.
  17. hopefully FA Slayton from NYG and K. Allen. Hopefully we trade up in Rd 2 for Jayden Higgins from Iowa State.
  18. would love Porter in the second. Here is PFF writeup: “Opposing quarterbacks avoided Porter in 2024, targeting him just 18 times across 202 coverage snaps. When tested, he allowed only five receptions while recording three interceptions and five forced incompletions.”
  19. yeah, the more I read on him the more I like him as a 2nd rounder. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Darius-Alexander-DT-Toledo he apparently is good getting hands in passing lanes
  20. umm...might have to switch my pick to DT Alexander then!
  21. oh man, this will be bad since I didn't start watching till late 1980's: 1. Josh Allen 2. Jim Kelley 3. Jack Kemp 4. Tyrod Taylor 5. Ferguson 6. Reich 7. Fitzpatrick 8. Beldsoe 9. Flutie 10. Alex Van Pelt
  22. another BB benefit. Huge recruiting assist for that program. Come to Cuse instead. Fran Brown is more interesting than BB.
  23. this one went more offense on me than expected, was taking BPA at positions where we have a need. Fannin likely makes Knox tradable or Kincaid redundant if he does not improve. .
  24. I’m thinking DT Alexander could be the rd 1 pick at 30.
  25. for a round 3 this would be a yes. Would give the Bills a nice CB pairing for a few years. We could also draft someone in the 4th. Although we don't have a 3 this year, perhaps they'd take next years well, we did get Hyde (FA) and Douglas (trade) from GB.
